A great effort marred by a simple story...

For a fan-made movie, then "AvP: Redemption" wasn't all that bad. Of course, you must keep in mind that this is not a major Hollywood production with a budget big enough to sustain a small country.

The storyline was a rather simple and easy one to follow and keep up with. Although one might actually draw a conclusion of it being a bit too simplistic actually. Personally I don't understand why a big corporation would keep ships in that kind of state, lacking proper lighting and basically looking like an old-run down heap of space junk.

There is a little bit of acting in the movie, and the acting performances are done with enough conviction to pass as being fair.

The CGI in the movie was a mixed Blessing though. Because some scenes had some quite good effects, while others boasted some really shoddy and questionable CGI, in particular the backgrounds and some of the alien scenes.

As for the music, well it was re-used from other "Alien" and "Predator" movies, which seemed a bit too cheesy. Of course, it was the easiest approach to just "borrow" that music. But it completely took away the sense of being original.

All in all, "AvP: Redemption" is a good and whole-hearted attempt. And it does show that it is made by people whom indeed are passionate about the "Alien vs Predator" concept and franchise.

Black cats fighting at night

Wolf made the movie, It could be a great one, but a few things made it another Predator parody: the night fight and us unable to see anything. What's the point of great decors, costumes and acting since it's all dark? The idiotic plot was the other problem, some stupid teens and their stupid problems half of the movie. If there were some serious characters, not a school drama, it would be brilliant.

Here a tribute to Wolf Predator is needed. Maybe the best of all. Fearless, have his honor code, payed respect to his dead brother, never showed any remorse fighting, gave his life for human kind to get rid the planed of aliens. He is perfect. And the way matching and using weapons was impressive too.

Better then any of "AVP" movie yet

Greetings from Lithuania.

So i stumbled on "AVP Redemption" (2015) very accidentally and thought to giving it a try. I was expecting something of a "fan made stuff made at they backyard" but as a huge "Aliens" and "Predator" universes fan, i thought i will check this out. After seeing it i can safely say that it was better then any of the two "AVP" movies yet (better then both of them combined actually). Effects (if you can call them like that) were pretty good for this kind of production, and suspense as well as overall craftsmanship were pretty good. The worst thing was acting by "human" actor, it was pretty amateur, but thankfully true stars in "AVP Redemption" weren't humans, and we get so see Alien and Predator for all its short 20 min run time A LOT.

Overall, i would like to see how this short film would look like in its full feature version (hopefully someday). For what it is it was pretty good one, a one who every hardcore fan of these franchises should check it out.
