Massive spoilers for "Yellowjackets" season 3 follow.
The marketing and press tour for "Yellowjackets" season 3 has been promising answers, especially after the series' sophomore season earned criticism for slow pacing and underwhelming resolutions to some mysteries. I think the writers heard those criticisms and are responding to them.
The "Yellowjackets" season 3 trailer ended with a promise that "secrets will be spilled." Earlier shots in the trailer show some of the masked survivors running through the wintery wilderness on a hunt — we might even be returning to the hunting scene from the pilot before the season ends. The season 3 premiere "It Girl" already dropped more and more hints about which Yellowjacket the "pit girl" is.
Steven Krueger (who plays Coach Ben Scott) recently said in an interview with Jake "Jake's Takes" Hamilton that the pilot flash-forwards are indeed "finally coming" in season 3. But he won't be around to see it. The season's sixth and latest episode,...

Season 3 of Yellowjackets has set the scene for another exciting sequence that will offer more issues for the modern-day characters and explore their time in the wilderness in the flashback timeline. In the present timeline, the Yellowjackets have overcome a lot but still struggle with the trauma of their past and how their secrets always pose a threat to their safety. However, the flashback sequence presents a period in which the girls were thriving with shelter and food, which is a huge change compared to their previous difficulties. This prosperous time isn't entirely positive though, suggesting not all of the teenagers are happy with their current circumstances and the shaky system they set up to operate their community.

Written and directed by Drew Hancock, this deliciously dark horror is produced by the team behind Barbarian, which should tell you something about the number of twists to expect. In fact, on that note, if you have somehow made it this far without actually knowing what Companion is about, then you should definitely stop reading now and go in as cold as you can, for maximum enjoyment.
Still here? Okay then, but be warned that the main twist occurs around 24 minutes into the movie and is essentially the basis of the plot from that point on. It’s clear that the filmmakers intended that reveal to be a surprise to the audience, but clearly the marketing department had other ideas, much like the publicity for Terminator 2: Judgement Day completely...

Yellowjackets follows the surviving efforts of a girls' soccer team whose plane crashes in the Canadian wilderness, where a strange paranormal presence, paired with teenage angst, tests the group's unity. The series is split into two timelines, the tragic events of the past and a distanced present, which focuses on four survivors being pushed together by someone threatening to expose what they did in the forest. Mystery surrounds the rest of the group's fate. Not even Yellowjacket's season 1 ending explains what really happened to the cursed soccer team and who or what is responsible.
Upon its debut, the Showtime series received excellent reviews, and seasons 1 and 2 garnered an extensive list of awards and nominations. Yellowjackets' cast of characters was quick to earn a great deal of attention, and contributed greatly to the show's popularity. Season 1 succeeded in creating interest in their arcs, with the sophomore season further advancing their development in meaningful ways.

While the number of great video game adaptations has grown over the last few years, they're still pretty hard to come by. That is, unless, you're Ella Purnell. The "Yellowjacket" veteran has now starred in not one but two of the most critically acclaimed shows adapted from video games in recent memory. Her first effort was in 2021, voicing Jinx in the stunningly animated Netflix series "Arcane" (which is itself set in the "League of Legends" universe). Then, three years later, she said "Okey dokey" to the apocalypse as Lucy in Amazon's "Fallout" series, which /Film's Rafael Motamayor described as "a stellar video game adaptation" in his review. While being part of a pair of huge hits is great, Purnell has revealed she plans to press pause on appearing in other video game projects in the future.

Yellowjackets co-creator Ashley Lyle teases season 3's wilderness timeline ahead of the new season's arrival on Febrauary 14, 2025. The end of Yellowjackets season 2 sees teen Natalie (Sophie Thatcher) being crowned as the Antler Queen after Jarvi's death, which is what Shauna (Sophie Nelisse) has been wanting since season 1. In the present timeline, adult Natalie (Juliette Lewis) exits the show in a tragic turn of events, leaving the rest of the survivors with a mess to clean.
Lyle shed some light on season 3's wilderness timeline and how Natalie's Antler Queen position would affect the group in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. The show co-creator revealed that season 3 will see "a continuation of some of the tensions and resentments in season 2." With season 2 entering the cannibalistic stage in the Yellowjackets soccer team's survival story, Lyle warns fans to "buckle up" because "the cannibalism cat is out of the bag." Check out what...

Since Yellowjackets wrapped season 2, fans have been waiting eagerly for the series' return. The writers' strike in Hollywood caused some delay to the highly anticipated third season, but the good news is that the series has gone back into production. There are a number of things that fans are eager to see in Season 3, but before anything else, there's still one thing missing before the launch of Season 3. Back in 2023, after the season 2 finale aired, fans were speculating that there'd be a bonus Yellowjackets episode because the second season was missing one. They were right; there will be a bonus episode coming in between Season 2 and Season 3.
The problem is no one knows when the episode will air. There are already plenty of theories regarding what the episode will be about. From the one missing cast member that fans have yet to see in Season 2 to an intriguing update from a Yellowjackets star,...

A lawsuit has been filed that alleges Showtime and Lionsgate's hit television series Yellowjackets ripped off the 2015 film Eden. The complaint says that the two works are "in most respects... identical."
According to Entertainment Weekly, a complaint was filed in California federal court on Friday by plaintiff Eden Film Production LLC claiming that Showtime's Yellowjackets is "substantially similar" to the Eden film and has violated its copyright enough to merit litigation. Showtime, Lionsgate, Yellowjacket series creators Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson and two production companies were named in the complaint as defendants.

Yellowjackets star Sophie Thatcher hints at an emotional and intense season 3 for young Natalie. A rebellious teen with a troubled past, Natalie Scatorccio is one of the survivors of the plane crash that left the titular high-school soccer team stranded in the Canadian wilderness. In Yellowjackets' present-day storyline, Natalie was played by Juliette Lewis as she is freshly out of rehab and drawn back to her teammates to unearth a mystery, though season 2 would conclude with her accidental death at the hands of Misty (Christina Ritchie).
Though Natalie's present-day story ended, Thatcher opened up to Vanity Fair about how her story in the wilderness is far from over. She stated that Yellowjackets season 3 sees young Natalie in some of her darkest moments yet, with her filming for the series punching the star to the point of her truly connecting and becoming incredibly invested in her character.
I think it resonated.

In recent years, Marvel Studios has given much more attention to the mommy issues in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, introducing several evil, morally-gray and problematic mothers. One of the best things about the heroes of the MCU is that they are as close to real people as they can be. They often have relatable backstories, believable motivations and raw, human emotions. Exploring these themes often makes family an important concept, with many heroes' family histories being detailed, which has allowed a wide variety of parents to debut in the MCU.
Unfortunately, the relationships between superheroes and their parents in the MCU aren't always strong, and some parents have even been introduced as villainous dark mirrors to their heroic children. While the focus of the Infinity Saga was evil fathers in the MCU, it's the mothers who have recently taken center-stage, contributing to a rise in mommy issues in the McU's Multiverse Saga.

Iron & Wine has returned with the announcement of his seventh studio album, Light Verse. He’s also shared the album’s first single, “You Never Know,” as well as a slew of 2024 headlining tour dates.
Light Verse marks Sam Beam’s first album in seven years as Iron & Wine, and will arrive on April 26th via Sub Pop. The album was produced by Beam in Los Angeles and features a 24-person orchestra on four of its 10 tracks. Also appearing on Light Verse is Fiona Apple, who lent vocals to the duet “All in Good Time.”
“You Never Know,” the first offering from Light Verse, begins with some signature finger-plucked guitar work from Beam before blooming into harmony-laden folk pop majesty. Throughout the track, Beam sings of a bastion of “coulds,” eventually landing on the idea that regardless of the twists and turns that life can take, you never know what the outcome will be.

Chris Ouellette has shared "B-List/Replacement Avengers" fanart on Instagram. The art creates a roster out of War Machine, Ant-Man, Yellowjacket, Trick Shot, Yelena Belova, White Vision, U.S. Agent, Mr. Fixit, and Thunderstrike. Hopefully, Marvel sees the art and gives this team their own series, similar to 2010's Chaos War: Dead Avengers.
Breaking free from the shadows, the most overlooked Avengers members unite in a fan-created masterpiece, crafting a team that demands recognition and - hopefully - canonicity. Yellowjackets season 3 is currently in the writing process, with the writers having enthusiastically gotten back to work in September after the WGA strike ended. At this year's Comic-Con Experience (Ccxp) in Brazil, Prime Video pulled the curtain back on their upcoming series, Fallout. The highly anticipated series is xecutive produced by Westworld's Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, with a story adapted to the screen by co-showrunners and writers Graham Wagner and Geneva Robertson-Dworet. For those unfamiliar with the franchise, the games take place in a post-nuclear war America where there are Vault Dwellers — those who’ve thrived underground and are unaware of what lies beyond their Vault-Tec vaults — and the survivors, mutations, and guilds that make up the irradiated Wasteland. According to Prime Video, the show takes place 200 years after the devastation in an "incredibly complex, gleefully weird and highly violent universe." The stars of the series include Yellowjacket's Ella Purnell as Lucy, a Vault Dweller, Walton Goggins as The Ghoul, Aaron Moten as Maximus, a member of the Brotherhood of Steel,...

The Avengers have been a home for some of the most influential heroes in comics, and together, they've faced countless powerful enemies like Kang the Conqueror and Ultron. But with so many heroes and villains that have interacted with the team, there's been many that have endured personal troubles, from Tony Stark's bought with alcoholism to Bruce Banner's struggles with a dissociative identity disorder. Yet, even with so many unique characters on the team, none have endured more than one of their founding members, Hank Pym.
Hank Pym, aka Ant-Man, was a hero that never wanted to be in the business for a long time. Yellowjackets isn’t done telling its story just yet. The thriller drama series left fans with more questions than answers. The second season only consisted of 9 episodes, unlike its first season which has 10. The final episode was built up with a cascading set of events, which eventually led fans to firmly believe that there will be an extra episode to follow.
EW reported that the fans' belief was fueled the highly intense cliffhanger of the season finale where teen Natalie (Sophie Thatcher) emerged as the primary contender for the Antler Queen title, while adult Misty (Christina Ricci) unintentionally caused the death of adult Natalie (Juliette Lewis). The episode also witnessed the team’s cabin going up in flames, leaving them without shelter.
While there have been plenty of shows that have left fans wanting more, recently more and more shows have been delivering that little bit extra to what was originally announced.

Viewers may know actress Sophie Thatcher from her work on the hit Showtime series Yellowjackets where she plays the resilient and no-nonsense Natalie Scatorccio, Juliette Lewis' younger counterpart in the thriller drama series about a soccer team's experience post-plane crash in the wilderness. The Season 2 finale of “Yellowjackets” left us with dropped jaws — and a lot of questions. We still don’t know who “pit girl” is, but we did see how things escalate to the point where the survivors began hunting each other to stay alive.
Although, as creators Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson told TheWrap before the Season 2 premiere, not every question will be answered. Said Nickerson, when asked if he minded the comparisons to the often frustrating “Lost”: “I don’t always want everything to be answered. Like, I do and I don’t, because so much of what made ‘Lost’ so engrossing was the mystery, not just the mystery of what happened, but the sort of reclamation of the spookiness of being alive. You can’t give all the answers and maintain that spookiness.”
With that in mind, here are some of the most pressing issues that still need to be answered.

Contains spoilers for Yellowjackets season 2, episode 7.
In Yellowjackets season 2, episode 7, Walter sends Misty a heartfelt message through Morse code. The wilderness survivors finally reunited as a group at Lottie's spiritual retreat in Camp Green Pine where they were assigned different therapies. Misty's was a sensory deprivation tank, and her experience led to a wild visualization. Misty has been somewhat of a loner character in the past, and present scenes and her dream sequence further demonstrated this. While she reunited with her former teammates, there's still a disconnect, and she finds herself questioning if she's a bad person in her dream sequence.
Luckily, Misty has help from her parrot Caligula, who has transformed into a person for her dream - but the most crucial part of the sequence is the inclusion of Walter. Misty and Walter last saw each other outside of Camp Green Pine when they argued over Misty's involvement in Adam's murder.

The second season opener treated us to a grim scene in which teen Lottie (Courtney Eaton), recently recovered from the wilderness, is forced into Ect (electroconvulsive therapy) by her parents, who just want a psychiatrist to "fix her." Putting aside the fact that Ect has (thankfully) profoundly evolved past the barbaric "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" style depicted in the episode, the mere act of being forced therapy by your family is traumatizing, regardless of its type.
Obviously, though, enduring what the Yellowjackets survivors had to face out there in the Rockies took its toll. Virtually every survivor has struggled to assimilate back into the mundanity of everyday life at one time or another, and...

Warning! Contains Spoilers for Yellowjackets season 2, episode 4!Taissa's hired reporter Jessica Roberts was last seen in Yellowjackets season 1, but a recent excursion to her apartment has shed some more light on her ambiguous fate. Jessica Roberts (Rekha Sharma) was first introduced in the premiere episode of Yellowjackets, trying to wriggle information out of those loosely connected to the plane crash, like a teacher and the injured Allie, and various survivors like Shauna. It wasn't revealed until later that Jessica was an associate of Taissa's and a private detective, trying to make sure that none of her former teammates would say anything condemning that would disrupt her race for State Senator of New Jersey.
Jessica of the Yellowjackets season 1 cast managed to anger the wrong Yellowjacket when she listened in on Natalie and Kevyn Tan's conversation, trying to dig up dirt on Travis' tragic death, and Misty caught wind of it.

The news that Paramount+ would be merged with Showtime later in 2023 sent shockwaves through the industry when it was first announced in late January. It’s not every day that a growing streaming service adds content from a premium cable network, after all.
That integration will take place early in the third quarter of this year, according to Paramount officials, but if you’re a customer who has never signed up for an account and you want to give Paramount+ with Showtime a trial run, there’s fantastic news for you this week.
Paramount is offering a limited-time offer in which new subscribers can get a full month of Paramount+ with Showtime for free with promo code Springstreaming. That’s an $11.99 value, but new customers can get it for free right now!

This past Sunday, March 26 was the second season premiere of the buzzy (pun intended), potentially supernatural drama “Yellowjackets” on Showtime. However, the episode actually debuted on Friday, March 24 on the network’s on-demand streaming platform Showtime, and the decision to release the episode early ended up being a major win for the show’s ratings.

The Season 2 premiere of “Yellowjackets” drew in more than 2 million viewers across platforms, according to Showtime. It also marks a 110% increase in viewers over the first season premiere.

As “Yellowjackets” Season 2, Episode 1 makes clear: Lottie Matthews is a big fucking deal.
Played by Courtney Eaton and new cast member Simone Kessell, Lottie is ostensibly the high school soccer star and plane crash survivor who ends up wearing chain mail and an antler headdress in the series’ cold open, commanding (or at least allowing) her peers to hunt, kill, and eat one of their own. Lottie’s ascent to antler queen is still mostly uncharted, but Season 2 finds her dabbling in blood sacrifice and ritual, emerging almost as a religious leader among her teammates.
Where adult Lottie stands apart from her fellow survivors is accepting that she was her truest self in the wilderness — and building her entire adult life around it. Lottie’s self assurance in both past and present is the key to unlocking the other Yellowjackets’ fear, trauma, and healing.

Warning: Mild spoilers for Yellowjackets season 2, episode 1.Yellowjackets season 2 premiered this weekend, transporting audiences back to the trauma of the show's survivors, post in the past and the present. As winter gets colder and leaves the stranded teens with next to no food, the already-foreshadowed turn to cannibalism grows much closer to becoming reality. And while the freshly-kidnapped adult Natalie is discovering new facts about her best friend Travis' last night on Earth, her teen self is shown growing more distant from him due to their different responses to Javi's disappearance and Lottie's wilderness-inspired mysticism.
Young Travis refuses to give up the search for his brother, even hallucinating his corpse, but Yellowjacket's season 2 premiere sees Natalie much less willing to suspend her disbelief. Her skepticism also surfaces when trying to reject Lottie's makeshift good luck charms, and the divide between the lovebirds grows apparent when Lottie is the one...

As far as rebrands go, this should be one of the easiest to remember in recent memory. This week, fuboTV announced it was changing its name, dropping the “TV” and capitalizing the F. Henceforward, the service will be known simply as Fubo, which is generally what its users always called it anyway.
7-Day Free Trial $85.98 / month fubo.tv
The rebrand will be accompanied by a new ad campaign co-produced by Ryan Reynolds, and starring NBA phenom Kevin Garnett and longtime NFL quarterback Mark Sanchez. Fubo users will start to see new logos and ads promoting the name change in the coming months.
If you’re a Fubo user, or have been looking into subscribing, you’re probably wondering what has changed other than the name in this rebrand. The short answer is not much. Aside from the name, the high-profile ad campaign and some new logos on the service’s website,...

That noise you hear is the Best Drama Actress Emmy category emptying out this year. Of last year’s six nominees, only one, “Yellowjackets” star Melanie Lynskey, is back in the running. Reigning champ Zendaya (“Euphoria”) and Reese Witherspoon (“The Morning Show”) are missing this cycle, while Laura Linney (“Ozark”) and “Killing Eve” duo Jodie Comer and Sandra Oh competed for the final time for their concluded shows. Assuming Lynskey is safely in — she’s in first in the odds — there are five spots up for grabs. Could she have some company this year from her co-stars Juliette Lewis and Tawny Cypress? If they join Lynskey in the lineup, it’ll mark the first time one show has yielded three nominees in the category in a single year.

A survival show coupled with heavy-duty drama is something that has not been experimented with. There have been many television shows and movies that have been about the survival of a group in the face of a man-made or natural calamity. For every other television show in the same genre, all they have to do is make sure they stand out. “Yellowjackets” is about a bunch of teenage girls who were good friends and were part of a football team when they experienced a tragedy. To recover from the tragedy took time, and along with that, they decided to stay away from the limelight and never speak of what they experienced while they remained stranded. The girls are now fully grown adults, and the aftereffect of their tragedy still lives in them. Will they ever get over the tragedy, or does some residue of it keep following them? “Yellowjackets” is...

[Editor’s note: The following post contains spoilers for “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.”]
While the primary villain in Peyton Reed’s “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” hasn’t been a secret for a long time — after all, Jonathan Majors’ Kang the Conquerer is set to lord over the Marvel Cinematic Universe for its next two phases — other baddies were kept a touch more secret in the lead-up to the release of the third film in the “Ant-Man” series. And while some trailers hinted at the inclusion of Modok (the “mechanized organism designed only for killing”) and some fans even sussed out that the murderous floating head might be played by returning star Corey Stoll, the actual arrival of Stoll as Modok is, well, hard to spoil.
Mostly, it’s very funny, as Reed’s film imagines that, after Stoll’s Yellowjacket was foiled by Scott Lang (Paul Rudd), Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), and Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) in the first film,...

This post contains spoilers for "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania."
In both the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Marvel movies produced by other studios like Sony and Fox, there's a long history of bungling if not outright butchering great comic book villains. The Marvel Comics version of M.O.D.O.K. isn't in the same league as classic Fantastic Four baddies like Doctor Doom and Galactus, or top-tier X-Men villains like Apocalypse and Sabretooth. However, M.O.D.O.K. has been floating around in his Doomsday Chair — the hoverchair that supports the weight of his head — since 1967, and he's at least enough of a power player to have spawned his own stop-motion animated series, where he was voiced by comedian Patton Oswalt.
M.O.D.O.K. now joins the ranks of all the other poorly realized Marvel movie villains of the 2000s courtesy "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania," which has made a live-action mess of him.

You'll have to forgive me for kicking things off here with a little bit of math. But when a movie like "Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania" deals with quantum mechanics, multiverse travel, and all sorts of other high-concept, sci-fi nonsense, then maybe it's not too out of place. The upcoming pint-sized threequel will become the 31st movie (!) released in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which spans almost 15 total years and crosses over into dozens upon dozens of hours of shows. That's ... a lot, to say the absolute least. And it's turned every upcoming event into an extravaganza that requires a certain amount of homework for those who care about the interconnectedness of the overarching story.
"Quantumania" certainly fits the bill, although part of that is to be expected for a film that's capping off a trilogy of movies. The first "Ant-Man" debuted back in 2015 and quickly became an MCU staple, appearing...

Peyton Reed reveals how they found a place for Modok in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and discusses his connection with the Ant-Fam. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania takes place in the Quantum Realm, where the heroes meet Kang the Conqueror and Modok, both of whom are dangerous threats. Corey Stoll, who played Darren Cross (also known as Yellowjacket) in Ant-Man, is returning to the franchise to portray Modok in the new movie.
In an exclusive interview with Screen Rant, Reed explained how they were able to finally bring Modok to live-action MCU with Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. He also revealed what sparked the idea for Modok to be the key to Kang knowing about the Ant-Fam. Reed also broke down Modok's connection to the Ant-Fam.
I want to talk about Modok because it's a character I've been anticipating for a while now in the MCU, and he's such a strange but fun character.

With Ant-Man & The Wasp: Quantumania, the Quantum Realm is about the completely change the MCU. Again. That escalation of the strangest realm of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will finally deliver on Kevin Feige's 2015 claim: “It won’t be apparent for years, but the whole notion of the Quantum Realm and the whole notion of going to places that are so out there, they are almost mind-bendingly hard to fathom. The Marvel Universe is filled with strange and unusual characters. And we're not just talking about your run of the mill weird variety like Deadpool, Spider-Ham, Leap-Frog, or the members of the Great Lakes Avengers. There are definitely other characters that are considerably more "out there" than them, yet they still have a legion of fans that love them like they're Captain America or Iron Man. One such example is Modok.
Originally a former arms dealer employee named George Tarleton who specialized in futuristic weaponry, ol' George takes his experiments a step too far when he attempts to increase his intelligence and overdevelops his head. Now utilizing a weaponized hoverchair and constantly concocting schemes for world domination, Modok is a reviled villain ... and sometimes the butt of many jokes. But no matter how a creative team may utilize him in a story, the character is capable of some truly heinous acts.

Whatever happens with Modok in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, a Marvel Cinematic Universe writer thinks it will be enough to get him booted from Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. Marvel's plans for Modok in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania mean that Hank Pym's best possible future in the MCU can finally become a reality. In Marvel Comics, Pym has a reputation not only as the original Ant-Man, but as one of the most important characters in Avengers comics. In addition to being a founding member of Earth's Mightiest Heroes, Hank operated under multiple superhero identities while also playing key roles in a long list of Avengers stories and Marvel Comics crossovers.
Like his comic book counterpart, the McU's interpretation of Hank Pym has a history as a superhero. The difference, though, is that the movie version was only a hero in the McU's past. His Ant-Man days ended long before his onscreen story actually began, meaning that he never became an Avenger. In taking this route, Marvel relegated Pym to the role of mentor and seemingly took any superhero adventures off the table.
