So cute and refreshing, actually the comedy is okay-ish. But the umaru character is damn cute, always brings a smile to my face. Also there is no fan service. GO FOR IT.
I will not be dishonest. Observing Himouto! My Two-Faced Little Sister, Umaru-chan, brings back my childhood memories. Every episode, both indoors and outdoors, is a unique adventure every week. Umaru Doma, the title character, is a role model for practically everyone and a class superstar. When she lives at home, her brother Taihei Doma acts as a sort of sidekick, giving her food, shelter, and comfort. But in all honesty, this series caught me off guard like a sudden hurricane. And by that I mean the kind of otaku storm that you really have to see to believe.
Studio Doga Kobo is adapting the series, which is based on the same-named 4-koma. They have gained more recognition recently for their work with slice-of-life narratives. That's basically what this show is like. Umaru's hidden personality is clearly established in the first episode. She leads two separate lives. She exudes maturity, friendliness, and an overall persona that inspires admiration at school. She is nearly the total opposite at home, leading a sluggish lifestyle, having an obsessive otaku mindset, and acting like a NEET. The way that each episode of the show reflects on her double life style initially makes it seem a little strange. From this vantage point, the show excels at showcasing true humor.

i have not seen that much anime in my life, so when i went into himouto umaru chan i knew nothing about the plot or the characters. this anime is so heart warming ,cute and with a non linear story telling that i was stuck with it from the first episode, the character building in this anime is awesome, each episode we are introduced to new characters and after a while they all grow on you and you feel related to them. the main character is "umaru" who has kind of a dual personality, she is a brilliant , smart , hot, high school student when she is at school and in public, while at home she is lazy careless, gamer that is obsessed with cold drink and junk food. The brother of umaru is "taihe" who is a corporate worker, he is a guy who is serious with his life and work. and has to keeps up with all the silly things that umaru does. This whole situation makes quite a funny story of brother sister relationship. the voice acting is so authentic and great that the charters just feel so alive, umaru in particular, after a while i fell in love with all these characters and just wanted to be a part of umaru's universe. the animation is beautiful, music is beautiful, its a feel good anime, which focuses on little things in life that actually make life special. i loved every second of this anime, its my favorite anime.and now i am going to japan to buy all the plushy toys related to this anime.
I love this series - it's got everything you can want from an anime like this, it's funny, it's cute and a little bit crazy! I would highly recommend it to fans of comedy anime such as myself, you won't regret watching it!
Himouto tells a simple story and completely easy to follow, his first season is fine but the second season is when you introduce (more) secondary characters and their stories are developed in relation to Umaru, leaving characters as endearing as Kirie (personally my favorite). Hopefully a third part comes out because I want to see more.

- TriviaThe artist of the manga this series is based on, known as SankakuHead, makes several appearances throughout the anime, including in the opening, where in a Mario-Kart style segment, Umaru throws a hamster at the go-kart in front which contains SankakuHead, and at another point where Taihei (Onii-Chan) is in a car and keeps having to break before he sees the author and exclaims, "AAH! A mangaka!"
