Keeper, the new horror film by Longlegs and The Monkey director Osgood Perkins, is set to be released in theaters on November 14, 2025. While most details remain under wraps, distributor Neon has released a poster with a very eerie message. Somehow, the hype for what’s being marketed as "A dark trip from Osgood Perkins" has surged significantly.
A few months ago, an odd video was posted on YouTube under the Neon handle, and horror fans got an early taste of the movie with the cryptic Asmr footage. Now, using the social media accounts of Neon and the film itself, the marketing team behind the mysterious project uploaded a poster containing a terrifying human figure with the head blacked out. The tagline ominously reads, "I don't like you anymore" and the title sits below. The caption for the post resembles a children's classic rhyme, and it goes like this:

I don’t want to play in your yard, I don’t like you anymore. You’ll be sorry when you see me, sliding down our cellar door. That’s the creepy poem attached to the reveal of a brand new official poster for Keeper, an upcoming “dark trip” horror movie from Neon and director Osgood Perkins. Check out the poster for Keeper down below.
Tatiana Maslany (“Orphan Black”) and Rossif Sutherland (Possessor) will star in Keeper, which is shrouded in secrecy at the present moment. Stay tuned for more as we learn it.
We expect Keeper will be released in theaters in late 2025.
“Keeper follows a couple as they escape for a romantic anniversary weekend at a secluded cabin. When Malcolm (Sutherland) suddenly returns to the city, Liz (Maslany) finds herself isolated and in the presence of an unspeakable evil that unveils the cabin’s horrifying secrets.”
Nick Lepard (Dangerous Animals) wrote the screenplay.

It’s a cliché but it’s a cliché for a reason: Netflix puts out so many movies that most people never even hear about them. That sucks, because while they can’t all be bangers, a lot of those Netflix Originals deserve an audience. Especially their horror flicks, because believe it or not they’ve put out a lot of fantastic scary flicks for fans of all ages.
Let’s take a look at the best Netflix Original horror movies, shall we…?

After making The Blackcoat’s Daughter, I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House, and Gretel & Hansel, filmmaker Osgood Perkins joined forces with the production and distribution company Neon to bring his fourth film, Longlegs into the world. That film was a major success, earning $128 million at the worldwide box office on a budget of less than $10 million, making it Neon’s highest-grossing release – and by the time it was released, Perkins and Neon were already working on their next collaboration, the Stephen King adaptation The Monkey. That one wasn’t as successful as Longlegs, but it still did well, and earlier this month, Perkins and his producing partner Chris Ferguson launched their production banner Phobos with backing from Neon, signing a first-look deal with the company. Deadline reported that, “under the first-look deal, Neon will house films that Perkins writes and directs, as well as those he produces for other filmmakers.

Osgood Perkins, the director of modern horror gems like Longlegs and The Monkey, continues to consolidate his position as one of the genre's most interesting visionaries. His latest project, Keeper, is shrouded in secrecy, but the film's distributor is once again proving they are the masters of modern film marketing. Following an exciting announcement of a deal they have put together with Perkins, Neon has released an unsettling video that teases the director's upcoming movie and its bizarre marketing campaign. Things are about to get weird.
Using YouTube, Neon went on a livestream yesterday. The video titled "It has no end" ran for precisely 66 minutes and six seconds – a running time that has to mean something. The video, which is currently available to play on YouTube, presents a nightmarish and repetitive image of a woman (Tatiana Maslany) staring at the camera, while a hand scribbles something on a notebook. Osgood Perkins is to Neon as Ari Aster is to A24. Does that make sense? Both are acclaimed filmmakers known for their horror movies who have produced multiple hit movies for their respective indie distributors.
Perkins is set to continue making movies for Neon thanks to a new first-look deal involving his new banner, Phobos. The Hollywood Reporter shares that the director will run his company alongside partner Chris Ferguson and under the deal, "Neon will serve as the home for Perkins' projects, which he and Ferguson will produce."
Additionally, the deal allows for Phobos co-owners Perkins and Ferguson to produce other movies being released by Neon, who will be responsible for the theatrical releases in the United States and represent that international sales.

Acclaimed horror filmmaker Osgood Perkins continues to give audiences something completely different from what he’s done before with the arrival of the debut teaser for Keeper. However, it's not perhaps the teaser some may be expecting, as, in perfect Osgood Perkins fashion, Keeper is already kicking off a very unusual marketing campaign. A new livestream posted by Neon sees Tatiana Maslany (She-Hulk: Attorney at Law) staring at the camera and writing something in a seemingly endless loop, giving viewers an ominous taste of what's to come in the mysterious new project.
The film, which is due out later this year, is the latest in the filmmaker’s string of horror projects, and looks to deliver something from a completely different subgenre than what we saw in The Monkey and Longlegs. Starring Tatiana Maslany and Rossif Sutherland (Orphan: First Kill), the movie follows a couple who travel to a remote cabin in the woods.

In the wake of Osgood Perkins inking a first look deal with Neon, the indie production and distribution company has taken to social media this afternoon to kick off the marketing campaign for Keeper, which will be Perkins’ third movie with Neon.
The mysterious film has been described as “a dark trip from Osgood Perkins,” and this first teaser certainly doesn’t provide us with any further information. Rather, it’s an endlessly looping video of a woman scribbling in a notebook, providing an oddly chilling bit of Asmr.
The title of the video? “It has no end.” Check it out below and expect more soon.

Osgood Perkins is becoming something of royalty in the horror category as the offspring of one of the most iconic names in the genre, plus carving out his own path with a directing career. Perkins is well established as a director, but his star rose further recently with the atmospheric serial killer film Longlegs and his latest dark comedy horror film The Monkey, which was based on a Stephen King story. Now, Perkins is being given the keys to the low-to-mid-budget horror kingdom as he signs a new deal with Neon and launches his own banner.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Perkins is now partnered with Neon on a first-look deal and he has launched Phobos — a new film banner that he will be running with his partner Chris Ferguson. Per THR, “Under the deal, Neon will serve as the home for Perkins’ projects, which he and Ferguson will produce.

Neon is moving up in the world (winning Best Picture twice will do that) and has formed its first ever first-look deal with a filmmaker. It’s fitting and perhaps unsurprising that it’s none other than “Longlegs” and “The Monkey” director Osgood Perkins.
As part of his new first-look deal, Perkins has also launched a production banner he’s calling Phobos. Alongside his partner Chris Ferguson, the projects that Perkins and Phobos produce for other filmmakers will be included in the first-look arrangement with Neon, as will any of the movies Perkins himself writes and directs. All the films will be released theatrically in the U.S. by Neon, and Neon will also represent the international sales rights on those titles.
Perkins will continue to work with producer Brian Kavanaugh-Jones of Range.

After striking box office gold together with both Longlegs and The Monkey, Neon and Osgood Perkins will be staying in business together with Perkins’ new horror movie Keeper later this year, and the relationship doesn’t end there. Variety reports today that Neon and Perkins are both making the smart decision to continue working together in the years to come.
In addition to launching his own production banner titled Phobos, alongside Chris Ferguson, Perkins has also signed a first look deal with Neon. What does that mean, you ask?
Variety details the deal as follows: “Perkins and Ferguson will jointly produce upcoming projects, with Neon serving as the home for films that Perkins writes and directs, as well as those he produces for other filmmakers.” Variety also notes in today’s report, “Neon will release the films theatrically in the U.S. and represent the international sales rights.”

After a series of hits, Osgood Perkins has a permanent home at Neon. The independent film production and distribution company has set a first-look deal with the “Longlegs” and “The Monkey” director.
Ahead of his next film “Keeper,” which will drop a new trailer later on Wednesday, Perkins is launching his Phobos production banner with partner Chris Ferguson.
“Ever hear the one about the filmmaker who madly loves his distributor? No? That’s because I think this might be the very first time it’s happened in our business where even brief phone calls can be rough,” Perkins shared in a statement. “Meanwhile, here I am with Neon, like: ‘You hang up first, no you hang up first!’ I couldn’t be happier.”
“There’s only one Osgood Perkins — fearless, deeply imaginative, relentlessly funny and operating on a frequency that’s all his own,” Neon CEO/founder Tom Quinn added.

There are two sides to every story. Take Abraham Van Helsing’s legacy. Bram Stoker’s Dracula positions Van Helsing as a vampire-hunting savior who vanquishes the bloodsucking count—but what if that’s propaganda? Natasha Kermani’s adaptation of Joe Hill’s short story “Abraham’s Boys” portrays a different side of Van Helsing. The line between hero and monster is wafer-thin, which Kermani explores in a 1900s period piece that takes an iconic horror figure to task.
Titus Welliver stars as Dr. Abraham Van Helsing, who has relocated his family to a secluded plot of land in California’s Central Valley. We evaluate Abraham from his eldest son Max’s (Brady Hepner) perspective: an overprotective husband to his ill wife Mina (Jocelin Donahue) and a stern parent to his littlest Rudy (Judah Mackey). Mina’s affliction is related to vampirism, and Abraham lives in constant fear that creatures will storm their household,...

While he enjoys the success of his latest movie, the adaptation of Stephen King's short story The Monkey, Osgood "Oz" Perkins still finds the time to share his hot takes. The director went on a quick Q&a with fans who were eager to know a bit more about the visionary director and his unique horror career. However, opening up the floor to questions from the public is always going to throw a few curveballs, and one of those was the question whether Perkins would be interested in directing a movie in the James Bond franchise.
Through a session on Reddit, Perkins took the mic to answer several questions about his career, his inspirations, and… directing James Bond? A user known as jokermobile333 asked Perkins the following question: "Are you open to directing a bond movie/trilogy? If so, who would you cast as your version of bond?" For the most part,...

“This is how you rot.” It comes as a whisper from a ghost in the second film by director Osgood Perkins, the 2016 haunted house chiller, I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House. It's slow-burn, atmospheric horror is what the filmmaker has become known for, along with monsters and family trauma that are knotted together to ensure there are no happy endings. So it might come as a surprise when you watch The Monkey only to find it approaches dark subject matter with a different outcome.

Osgood "Oz" Perkins, the director of the recently released Stephen King adaptation The Monkey, has a pretty particular take on horror. The Monkey is an adaptation of King's short story of the same name published in the anthology Skeleton Crew, but it's nonetheless a very original horror comedy made by a filmmaker who understands genre tropes and subverts them. In 2024, Longlegs terrified everyone with a bleak twist on serial killer horror tropes. Thus, many would think that the director of these films (and The Blackcoat's Daughter and I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House) is really into the horror genre. They would be wrong.
Perkins insists he's not into the horror genre, telling IndieWire:
"The way I have come to look at my trajectory, if anybody gives a f*ck about my trajectory, it's born into horror, right? Born into a royal family of horror, right?...

This article contains spoilers for "The Monkey."
Although it's still possible to get into the weeds when discussing auteur theory, it's generally become accepted that directors, especially if they're also acting as their own screenwriters, have a large degree of creative control over their films. As such, it's possible to find common threads that connect a certain filmmaker's work, whether those threads are thematic, stylistic, or some combination of the two. For example, think of the Stanley "Kubrick stare," the Spike Lee floating dolly shot, Alfred Hitchcock and voyeurism, Steven Spielberg and father figures, and so on. Some directors may seem easier to clock than others, of course, especially if they exclusively or generally work within a particular genre. Yet even those who remain in one genre can contain as much artistic diversity as those who attack a wide range of subject matter.

Osgood Perkins has guts – literally and metaphorically. The filmmaker knew it wouldn’t work to be precious when adapting “The Monkey,” a short story by Stephen King, hitting theaters Friday. So Perkins held nothing back. “You can’t worry about offending an audience; you can’t focus on honoring it too closely,” he notes. “There’s no pandering going on. There’s no timid storytelling. You have to have the guts to execute it.” He means it physically as well — his effects artists developed objects referred to as “guts cannons” and trucks loaded full of blood to kill people in increasingly gory and creative ways.
It’s a faster pace for Perkins, who has mastered the art of discomfort with slow-burn, atmospheric films like last year’s hit “Longlegs.” And the plot is simple: Theo James stars as twins whose lives have been cursed by the existence of a wind-up toy monkey that,...

The Monkey Director Osgood Perkins Doesn't Think Of The Film As A Horror Movie [Exclusive Interview]
Osgood Perkins may be the most quietly unpredictable Hollywood filmmaker working today. Think about it: Prior to 2024, he was a respected if low-profile indie horror director, making his name with singularly dread-filled, offbeat films like "The Blackcoat's Daughter" and "I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House." Prior to that, he was a character actor, turning up in supporting roles in films as varied as "Legally Blonde," "Secretary," and 2009's "Star Trek." Even the film that was supposed to be his big A24 horror movie debut, 2020's "Gretel & Hansel," got swallowed up by the Covid-19 pandemic, meaning he was still more of an underground favorite by the time his masterpiece, "Longlegs," was ready to debut.
When that movie blew up the box office last year (thanks in large part to a fantastically effective marketing campaign along with a signature performance from star Nicolas Cage), Perkins seemed to have finally arrived.

The Monkey hasn't even been released and people already want to know what filmmaker Osgood 'Oz' Perkins is working on next. That's a testament to the director's meteoric rise in the past year, thanks to his occult masterpiece Longlegs and his new Stephen King adaptation, a very dark splatter comedy, The Monkey. Before those films, Perkins was an indie auteur who made two of the best horror movies of the 2010s — The Blackcoat's Daughter and I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House. So it makes sense that Perkins was feeling confident and optimistic when he spoke with MovieWeb to promote The Monkey. We asked him what's in store for the director next.

It seems director Osgood Perkins can do no wrong these days, as after his 2024 low budget smash hit Longlegs thrilled audiences to the tune of $126 million at the box office, The Monkey is garnering rave reviews ahead of its release this weekend. Starring Theo James, the latest Stephen King adaptation is being heralded as a can’t-miss horror-comedy hybrid, but apparently there's another aspect of the film you should stay seated for: a post-credits scene.
According to Total Film (via Gamesradar) The Monkey's post-credits scene is not one that expands or adds anything to the film you just saw, but is rather a preview of Perkins' next horror offering, Keeper. There's no word on if it's a full trailer or just a tease, but regardless, it's definitely something worth staying seated for, as Perkins has easily solidified himself as one of the hottest genre directors around following the release of Longlegs,...

Nicolas Cage's serial killer horror film of 2024, Longlegs, has a streaming release date. After the film's groundbreaking success, it rushed into digital services in August 2024. Now it's set to start streaming on February 14. Longlegs will be added to the Hulu library just in time for Valentine's Day. We don't know of a more polarizing film to celebrate this lovely holiday with, but we're guessing some horror fans will be excited as they have found the perfect reason to stay home and watch a movie with their loved one.
Directed by Osgood "Oz" Perkins, Longlegs stars Cage alongside modern horror queen Maika Monroe, as well as Blair Underwood, Alicia Witt, Dakota Daulby, and Kiernan Shipka. Before last summer, Osgood Perkins’ was known as the auteur of chilling slow-burn horrors who gathered a limited but fairly loyal fanbase. Being the son of horror legend, Norman Bates himself, Perkins’ name was immediately synonymous with horror cinema history. Still, his pre-2024 works such as the boarding school-set psychological terrorizer, The Blackcoat’s Daughter, the dark fairytale twist, Gretel & Hansel, or the supernatural gothic I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House didn’t entice a huge audience. That all changed with 2024’s Longlegs, one of the best horror movies of the 2020s so far, displaying Perkins’ storytelling capabilities and unrelenting style in vivid, ‘90s-tainted terror. It has announced Perkins as one of the pre-eminent horror filmmakers working today. Following up by just a few months, Perkins has collaborated with the King of the Horror Box Office, James Wan, for an adaptation of a short story by the King of Horror in general,...

Neon is turning lemons into lemonade with a recent rejection for a TV advertisement for their upcoming horror film The Monkey, directed by Oz Perkins and based on a short story by Stephen King. Apparently, network Standards & Practices wouldn't allow for just about any footage of the film to appear on television during the day. As they couldn't run a TV ad, they did the next best thing — leaked the (meticulously redacted) email communication about it. The emails (from Jan. 22 and 23) detail Neon's attempts to secure a TV ad to air during a weekend afternoon of sports games. "Because all our games are in the afternoon, we won't be able to move forward," wrote Standards & Practices after back-and-forth communications.
"The spot below would not be permitted in any programming on the ... or any ... digital programming due to ... and excessive violence," read one email from S&P.

Horror’s Greatest makes a comeback with a second season filled with exciting episodes for horror fans hungry for more horror films to see in 2025. This season's episodes include “Animal Attacks”, “Killer Dates”, “Hidden Gems”, “Film Scores”, and “Space Horror”. Showrunner Kurt Sayenga brings to this season new perspectives to horror classics like The Birds and Carrie, to lesser-known frights like The Blackcoat’s Daughter and Ghostwatch, with several on-camera interviewees, including myself.
Sayenga shares with us how he developed the themes of the episodes, what new films he discovered through this season, the impact of film scores in horror cinema, and what he hopes audiences will take away from the series.
Bonilla: How would you describe the theme of this season?
Kurt Sayenga: This season takes the general idea of Horror’s Greatest and expands upon it, taking it into places that show the flexibility of the concept. The general umbrella...

There have been a lot of movies and TV shows based on the works of author Stephen King, but there are also still a good number of King stories that have slipped through the cracks and never received an adaptation. For example, the short story The Monkey has been around for over forty years, but it’s only just now getting the big screen treatment, with Neon planning to give a film based on The Monkey a theatrical release on February 21, 2025. With that date just a few months away, we figured this would be a good time for us to put together a list of Everything We Know About The Monkey.
Story
King’s short story was first published in 1980, in the pages of the adult magazine Gallery, giving subscribers something to read amidst the pictures of nude women. The story was later revised and included in King’s 1985 short story collection Skeleton Crew.

2025 is starting strong with some high-profile releases early in the year, and February is especially interesting for the comic book and horror movie genres. The Josh Ruben-directed horror film Heart Eyes is set to hit the weekend before Valentine's Day, which is when Captain America: Brave New World premieres. However, another highly anticipated film comes at the end of February, with The Monkey hitting theaters on February 21st. The film has just had its first screenings for critics, and all the reactions mostly say the same two things: it's incredibly gory but hilarious.
Directed by Osgood Perkins, who recently made waves for his terrifying slow-burn horror Longlegs last year, The Monkey is based on a short story by Stephen King and produced by James Wan. The film's premise is simple but terrifying: a toy monkey discovered by twin brothers unleashes a series of inexplicable deaths seemingly tied to the toy's presence.

Director and actor Oz Perkins has been in the Hollywood news in recent years, but those who have followed him from the beginning will remember one of his earliest roles, that of Dorky David Kidney in Legally Blonde. Legally Blonde may not be Reese Witherspoon's breakout performance, but it's the film that rocketed her to mainstream stardom and the movie that began a franchise of idyllic, charming, and unexpectedly complex Legally Blonde movies, a TV show, and even a musical.
The first film features an impressive cast, including a relatively unknown Osgood "Oz" Perkins as Dorky David Kidney. These days, Oz Perkins is known for his directing, but in a previous life, he was a fairly prolific TV and movie actor who got his acting career started in the 1983 sequel, Psycho II, as a young Norman Bates. Perkins comes from Hollywood royalty. His father is actor Anthony Perkins, his mother is actress Berry Berenson,...

It can be difficult to market a film. A trailer can be the best way to garner interest, although this can be undone when the promotional material offers spoilers to lure in potential viewers (as evidenced with many Terminator sequels.) It is a credit to Neon for operating a “less is more” approach for Longlegs, relying on an unsettling atmosphere conveyed in their cryptic videos as an effective primer for the feature.
Set during the ‘90s, FBI Agent Lee Harker (Maika Monroe) is a new recruit assigned to the unsolved case of an elusive serial killer (Nicolas Cage). Uncovering a series of occult clues, she is intent on stopping him before he claims more lives.

Netflix's new zombie horror movie has become a global streaming hit. Netflix has been producing original movies since the mid-2010s. Although they take on a variety of genres, they began making horror projects about a year in, with 2016's I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House. Their roster has significantly expanded since then to include movies such as The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Perfection, Apostle, and The Cloverfield Paradox, the Stephen King adaptations Gerald's Game, Mr. Harrigan's Phone, and In the Tall Grass, as well as the Fear Street trilogy and the Babysitter and Bird Box franchises.
Netflix has also dabbled in the zombie genre before, with their most successful feature-length installment in the genre most likely being Zack Snyder's Army of the Dead, which spawned the prequel Army of Thieves. On the series side, one of their most popular efforts is the South...

Elijah Wood cant contain his excitement over the writer/director Osgood Perkins upcoming supernatural horror comedy, The Monkey. An adaptation of Stephen Kings brilliant short story from 1980, The Lord of the Rings star recently told MovieWeb about his role in the 2025 film, calling it really bloody. He added:
Its truly a horror comedy and really funny. Listen, I'm a huge fan of Osgood Perkins. I have been for years. As a writer/director, he's made some extraordinary films, and I'm thrilled that he's having a moment now where people are finally recognizing how brilliant he really is.
Perkins (son of Anthony Perkins of Psycho fame) has long been a horror auteur, but is definitely having a moment, nicely surfing off Longlegs, a terrifying horror romp that gave us one of the trippiest performances by the ever-eclectic Nicolas Cage. Wood had more to say about The Monkey, which also stars Theo James...

Fresh off the success of one of the most terrifying horror movies of 2024, "Longlegs," director Osgood Perkins is back with an adaptation of Stephen King's 1980 short story "The Monkey," and now we have the first trailer for the project. The highly-anticipated horror movie will see Perkins bring his brand of terror to King's tale of a cursed monkey toy that kills off people with a simple clap of its cymbals. Perkins writes and directs this adaptation of "The Monkey," which also has a killer cast including Theo James ("The White Lotus"), Tatiana Maslany ("She-Hulk: Attorney at Law"), and Elijah Wood.
The new trailer follows a teaser for "The Monkey" that was released back in August and gives us a great look at Perkins' latest project. The writer/director has previously delivered lower-budget fare in the form of "The Blackcoat's Daughter," "I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House,...

Osgood Perkins is still walking on his “Longlegs” high.
After the horror writer/director made history as Neon’s highest-grossing film (even surpassing Best Picture winner “Parasite” at the box office), Perkins unveiled the trailer to his follow-up Neon feature, “The Monkey.”
The film is based on Stephen King’s 1980 short story of the same name. Perkins wrote and directed the adaptation, which stars Theo James as twins Bill and Hal who discover their dad’s monkey toy in the attic. Of course, murder ensues.
Elijah Wood, Tatiana Maslany, Christian Convery, Colin O’Brien, Rohan Campbell, and Sarah Levy co-star.
“The Monkey” is produced by James Wan, Dave Caplan, Michael Clear, Chris Ferguson, and Brian Kavanaugh-Jones.
And while horror staples Wan and King are behind the film, Perkins told The Hollywood Reporter that “The Monkey” is his most comedic feature yet.

Over the summer, Oz Perkins fully blew our minds with his latest feature-length production, Longlegs. Not only were audiences completely intrigued by the plotline and performances from leading stars Maika Monroe (It Follows) and Nicolas Cage (Face/Off), but the movie quickly climbed the box office charts to earn the bragging rights of being Neons highest-grossing domestic release. While hes long been in the business of helming some of the most inventive and spine-chilling movies in the genre, including I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House and The Blackcoats Daughter, Longlegs introduced Perkins to an even wider audience. One person beyond thrilled for the director to finally receive his fair share of praise is Elijah Wood (Wilfred), who will soon appear in Perkins upcoming adaptation of Stephen Kings The Monkey.

Steven Soderbergh built his reputation in part on his “one for them, one for me” mentality, alternating between making high-profile studio projects and offbeat, and often lo-fi, experiments. At first glance, his latest effort, Presence, a haunted house story staged exclusively through the Pov of a ghost, would appear to fall firmly in the latter camp. But while the out-there concept invites a host of tantalizing possibilities, the film’s adherence to conventional and uninspired plotting sees Presence fall into a blasé middle ground.
Opening in an empty suburban house, Presence establishes the viewpoint of its central apparition with a sequence where Soderbergh’s camera roams feverishly through the different rooms and up and down the stairs. Then, a real estate agent (Julia Fox) enters the picture, accompanied by some prospective buyers, a well-to-do married couple, Rebekah (Lucy Liu) and Chris (Chris Sullivan), and their two teenage children, Tyler (Eddy Maday...

Exclusive: One year ago in Toronto, with the dual writers’ and actors’ strikes still in full swing, Rivulet Films co-founders Rob Paris and Mike Witherill were in the throes of packaging a project with David Gordon Green attached to direct a WGA script. Unable to secure an interim agreement to get the go ahead, that project fell apart. But all was not lost because the next day, Green called Paris and had a non-wga script for him that he wanted to direct but they had to move fast because the director had a Q1 2024 commitment.
That project was a script from Green’s friend Leland Douglas called Nutcrackers about Mike, a straight-laced workaholic who has to travel to rural Ohio to care for his four nephews after their parents die in a car accident. After weeks of farm-life mayhem, Mike realizes he won’t have to find a new home...

Longlegs is Osgood Perkins' best-reviewed film yet, earning an impressive 86% from critics on Rotten Tomatoes. Despite its unconventional story, Longlegs has resonated with audiences, earning over $30 million in its first week. Perkins' move towards more accessible horror in Longlegs has proven successful, paving the way for future mainstream projects.
With an impressive critical and audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes, the horror sleeper hit Longlegs has broken a pair of pivotal records for its director.
