Marvel Studios' Thor: The Dark World is generally regarded as one of the low (lowest?) points of the MCU, but a lot of fans were still concerned that Taika Waititi would "ruin" the character when he was enlisted to helm Thor: Ragnarök.
Ironically, the threequel is now widely viewed as the best Thor movie, but Waititi remembers the online backlash when he was announced as the movie's director.
"That really propelled me into the nerdosphere, if you will," the filmmaker recalled during a new video interview with Entertainment Weekly. "I was living a really lovely, peaceful life, and as soon as I did this, well boy, did the nerds come for me. They said, 'This guy's gonna ruin this. He's gonna ruin Thor!'"
"It's like, 'What, you mean again?'" he added. "And they were like, 'He's gonna ruin this for everyone, Thor's so cool!' And I said...

Taika Waititi‘s resume before Thor: Ragnarok doesn’t suggest he would ever be put on the path to helm a multi-million dollar franchise as part of a multi-billion dollar universe in Hollywood. The New Zealand director was famous for his quirky comedies like HBO’s Flight of the Conchords, What We Do in the Shadows and Hunt for the Wilderpeople. He brought a lot of his signature dry humor to Ragnarok with great acclaim, then a whiplash in reception would seem to happen when the consensus was that he brought too much of it for the follow-up Thor: Love and Thunder.
Entertainment Weekly recently sat down with Waititi for a retrospective of his career and he would reflect on the initial reaction that he was going to ruin the Thor franchise. Waititi remembered, “That really propelled me into the nerdosphere, if you will. I was living a really lovely,...

Taika Waititi is known for his unique humor and creativity. He directed the hit movie Thor: Ragnarok in 2017, which changed the way Thor was seen in the MCU. Waititi also won an Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay for Jojo Rabbit and works on many creative projects, including acting and producing in big franchises.
In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Waititi reflected on his first experience with the MCU, sharing that Thor: Ragnarok played a big part in making him known in the “nerdosphere.”

Intro: At the time of writing this episode of Arnie Revisited, it’s just been confirmed that Hollywood is once again scouring popular IP with the upcoming reboot of The Running Man from Edgar Wright, with rising star Glen Powell attached to the project. The Top Gun: Maverick actor is certainly hot property right now, having just cosied up to Sydney Sweeney in Anyone But You. However, it was another actor, whose star was crashing through the sky in the 80s, who first took on the adaptation of Stephen King’s short story, which was written under his Richard Bachman pen name.
Arnie had just battled camouflaged alien hunters in Predator, released in June 1987, and the same year saw him take on another action sci-fi project, albeit this time with less aliens but similarly memorable action and one-liners. It was quite a departure from the original short story, but the...

A lawsuit filed on Wednesday accused Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose of using “fame, status and power” to rape a Penthouse Pet in a Manhattan hotel room in 1989.
Model Sheila Kennedy alleged that Rose violently attacked and raped her after the two met in a New York nightclub. According to the lawsuit, Kennedy had been invited to the club by a Guns N’ Roses fan, though she was not one herself.
After meeting Kennedy, Rose allegedly invited her to his hotel room but did not allow the friend to come, as she was “not hot enough.”
Rose supplied Kennedy and his other guests with cocaine, champagne and other substances. The lawsuit states that the two shared a kiss, and Kenedy was “open to sleeping with [Rose] if things progressed and they continued to find each other attractive.”
Kennedy became uncomfortable when Rose began having “aggressive” sex with another female model in front of her.

Man Crashes Car into New Jersey Police Station While Blasting Guns N’ Roses’ “Welcome to the Jungle”
A New Jersey man deliberately crashed his SUV into a police station in Independence Township on September 20th, and he was blasting Guns N’ Roses‘ classic “Welcome to the Jungle” when he did it.
Thankfully no one was hurt during the incident, according to Huffington Post, though one officer narrowly avoided being struck by the vehicle being driven by John Hargreaves, 34, of Belvidere.
The SUV ended up in the station’s squad room, and surveillance footage sees Hargreaves immediately exit the vehicle and put his hands in the air. According to an official press release from the police department (see below), “The defendant exited the vehicle and appeared to be celebrating as he was apprehended by officers on scene as his car stereo blared the song ‘Welcome to the Jungle.'”
Police still haven’t determined a motive for Hargreaves barreling into the station, though the crash happened just minutes...

Shockingly enough, Netflix has actually seen an increase in the number of subscribers to their platform since the great purge of password sharers commenced. Apparently, people do want to keep tabs on the Og platform for movie watching, which seems strange when Stranger Things isn't due out until 2025, with the potential to go back even further pending the results of the writer's strike that continues. Even in its infancy, AI has really done a number on Hollywood.
What's weird about this month is seeing just how many Netflix originals there are. Netflix is trying to make it on its own rather than have to negotiate movie licenses from other companies who all want a money-pit streaming platform of their own. It's sort of like a race, really, to see who can lose money the fastest on these things. That being said, Netflix seems to have decided to not play at...

Thanks to the massive success of the 1987 animated series "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles," toy companies and television networks were all looking for their own anthropomorphic crimefighting animal franchises in the late 1980s and early 1990s. And when they eventually found them, the results were wild. In the words of Guns N' Roses, "Welcome to the Jungle."
"Battletoads" was probably the most blatant ripoff. "Road Rovers" was another swing and a miss. "Swat Kats: The Radical Squadron" had a pretty awesome show, but the toy line didn't deliver as much as the cartoon. Then came "Wild West C.O.W.-Boys of Moo Mesa" and "Street Sharks," which excelled in both areas. But when "Biker Mice From Mars" premiered in 1993, both the show and the toys stood head and shoulders above the rest (but always just below Tmnt). As far as blockbuster sequels go, Terminator 2: Judgment Day remains widely hailed as one of the best, having constructed a skillfully expanded spectacle without indulgently redefining the original premise. Yet, the film had to be sold to the public going into its July 3, 1991 wide release, which was nearly seven whole years after the first film cemented the superstardom of Arnold Schwarzenegger. Fortunately, a partnership with rockers Guns N’ Roses yielded a theme song in “You Could Be Mine” that would effectively convey the film’s intensity and attitude. Thirty years later, the song remains an indelible part of the revered sequel.
While fan-magazine-read sci-fi cinephiles saw Terminator 2 coming from the time the film’s tightly-scheduled principal photography commenced in October of 1990, the sequel was a surprise to the general public when its first teaser trailers ambushed big screen audiences. Mumbai, Feb 26: Actress Monica Dogra made her mark with her Bollywood debut film, Kiran Rao's Dhobi Ghat, in 2011. However, despite a few other releases, she never really managed to find a foothold in the industry.
After being seen in a couple of films such as David (2013) and Teraa Surroor (2016), Monica will be back in action in the web series, The Married Woman.
On her part, Monica says she has never liked the way women are objectified in Bollywood films and has especially steered clear of dance numbers. "Item song is a no-no for me. Today is the birthday of the multi talented musician, singer, actor and producer Himesh Reshammiya. In this special birthday article we take a look at Himesh’s year 2016 so far, including his achievements and also his upcoming projects!
The year began on a high note as Himesh was awarded for his excellent musical score in the Rajshri family drama ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’. Himesh won the ‘Best Music Director’ award for Prem Ratan Dhan Payo at the Big Star Entertainment Awards. After the success of Prdp, came the super successful album ‘Sanam Teri Kasam’. Directed by Radhika-Vinay, even though this film was not a big budgeted love story with an A-list star cast, fans were quick to spread the word about Himesh’s modern romantic soundtrack and it most definitely played a part in drawing the audience to see the film, which in turn, became a surprise hit of this year.

Teraa Surroor
Starring: Himesh Reshammiya, Farah Karimaee, Kabir Bedi, Shekhar Kapoor, Monica Dogra,Shernaaz Patel
Directed by: Shawn Arranha
Rating: *** ½ (3 and a half stars)
Go with zero expectations and I promise you, Teraa Surroor will surprise you. More than anything else, it’s a very good-looking film. And I don’t mean the cast where admittedly, we have some suave, dapper and just plain interesting faces lending a gravitas to the Alistair MacLean brand of thrills, you know the sort where one smart-aleck played by the one and only Himesh Reshammiya takes on the entire police force of Dublin and—guess what?—emerges a winner.
The plot, in case you haven’t guessed by now, is a bit of a stretch. But it never tests your patience. And there is a very good reason for that. Director Shawn Arranha (who once upon time made a mall horror flick entitled Hide...
