900 Days Without Anabel weaves the stark reality of Anabel Segura’s kidnapping into its storytelling. The series presents Anabel, a 22-year-old from Madrid, showing her life beyond typical true crime statistics.
The abduction happened during Anabel’s jog on April 12, 1993, leaving her family and Spain in distress. The story moved from early suspicions about Eta to the revelation that money drove her kidnappers. This shift reflected social patterns, where personal accounts replaced broad political conflicts.
The series stands out through its technical elements. The mix of staged scenes with news clips builds suspense. The audio work adds emotional depth.
900 Days Without Anabel creates something fresh in independent cinema, mixing artistic quality with broad appeal.

The 2024 Netflix presentation, 900 Days Without Anabel, or 900 dias sin Anabel, is a three-part documentary from Spain that reveals excruciating details about a kidnapping case that shocked the nation in the 1990s. On the 12th of April, 1993, a twenty-two year-old woman named Anabel Segura went missing from the affluent neighborhood of La Moraleja in Madrid and was immediately suspected to have been kidnapped. Her family started receiving ransom calls soon after, all of which were recorded on tape, and 900 Days Without Anabel makes all these tapes public for the first time, along with exclusive interviews with the police officials who carried out the investigation. Overall, the documentary series makes for a very intriguing watch and is recommended for every true crime documentary enthusiast.
Who was Anabel Segura?
Born to Jose Segura Najera and Sigrid Foles, Anabel Segura Foles was a bright kid always interested in adventures and exploration ever since her childhood days.

The following article contains minor spoilers for “Blade Runner 2049.”
In addition to a pair of memorable performances from Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford, cinematographer Roger Deakins’ stunning visual work, and director Denis Villeneuve’s dystopian vision, “Blade Runner 2049” has one more element worthy of excitement: a supporting cast of new and rising stars. Many of them have already made their mark on indie cinema, like the perpetually working David Dastmalchian or the irreverent Carla Juri, while others will likely use Villeneuve’s sci-fi epic as a springboard for even bigger careers (like Ana de Armas, the film’s biggest find).
