Blah blah blah she show is weird and ruined the Peabody franchise or whatever, ya'll genuinely won't even mention the effort and love put into this show because you're too busy complaining about the jokes or sumthin. HELLO?? ART DIRECTION GOES CRAZY?? AND THE MUSIC GUEST'S SONGS??? This show is for kids and it's going to have some dumb stuff every now and then, and may not even be educational whatsoever. BUT, listen to me, give the writers/animators some credit for putting so much hard work into this show, like it might not be comparable to some other great shows out there but it's the pure raw passion they had that made the show what it is now. It might not be jaw dropping or mind blowing to anyone who watches it, just spare some of your time, you might enjoy it and you might not.
From an iCON to a barely decent movie to THESE!!
This show should not have been made.
What can be learned? Don't reinvent the wheel
Verdict: Pea brain show.

Though I'd never watched the original series, I enjoyed the movie that came out last year enough to want to check out the new Netflix original series. Unfortunately, this was one of the most boring half hour shows I've watched in a long time. It's a never a good sign when you start looking at your watch only ten minutes in. The only positive thing I can say about it is the animation has a cute, old school charm that recalls the nostalgic spirit of the cartoons I grew up with, but nothing else works. The jokes are flat and unfunny. The characters are totally forgettable. In the pilot episode, Mr. Peabody and Sherman are trying to put on their first show but keep getting distracted by nosy, annoying neighbors, all while traveling through time in the WEYBAC to meet historical figures like Napoleon Bonaparte. If any of this was funny, it wouldn't matter that the story line is over the place. I've only watched the first of thirteen episodes but will not be watching the rest and have removed the series from my Netflix watch list.
A few years earlier, the film Mr. Peabody and Sherman was released in theaters. Like all films based on segments of the 1960s Rocky and Bullwinkle show, the film flopped at the box office, even though its revenue was greater than its budget. Nevertheless, the film's positive reception was enough to inspire the creation of this TV show.
Unlike the film which uses 3D cgi, the TV show uses 2G cgi. But that's okay. Sherman here sounds younger than his 1960s counterpart but it still fits the character. There's also a bit of quirkiness on how some of the characters act but that's common to animated shows with classic cartoonish nature. When animated cartoons first hit the screen decades ago, they were originally adaptations of comic characters.

I watch this show constantly because of my daughter. While I agree with one of the negative reviews about the first episode being a bit boring, the show gets much better as it goes along. I think the point of the show is that its supposed to be a variety show and therefore, all over the place. I find it fine to follow. So does my daughter. And any humor that appeals to adults will fly over a kid's head.
