Outstanding acting and wonderful story but a little too simple

A powerful movie played by remarkable actors telling a realistic story about an 18 year old orphan and his lost family whom he seeks to find with some additional twists throughout the movie.

The movie features some beautiful sceneries and has an important message about how children have the right to live their lives well, regardless their past.

It is really hard to find flaws in this movie, the only ones I recognized were the poor CGI of the boar swimming in the swamp and the weird music scene in the end of the movie where the semi-musicians seemed so much on point in the music as if the music was dubbed. But these minor flaws did not affect my final rating.

I believe there could have been more told to the story and more emotional scenes in the movie as I've seen in other Turkish movies.

In conclusion the movie had a powerful message told with a touching story that could have been further emotionally elaborated. The story seemed a little too simple but maybe it was intended for the movie's realism. Overall a very well made movie!

the most emotional Turkish movie so far

I do not watch Turkish films very often, because many of them are cheap comedies which have similar stories since Kemal Sunal. However Turkey has very talented actors/producers / actress.

Ozan Guven has proved himself in many pictures since "ikinci bahar"

Unfortunately his best friend Cem Yilmaz was spoken more than him, when they were together in the same productions Filmlovers know that He does not need Cem Yilmaz. This film is the sample of my theory.

Nobody else could be better than Meryem Uzerli, Her accent, education and film experience right for this role ( Nurgul Yesilcay could be good also but she has no accent )

Belcim Bilgin is not the one I fallow normally, however she has many roles in Turkish Film Industry in these days. In this one she would not be better, no one would be :) Okan Yalabik was great even in his small role.

And now Bora Akkas: Please keep fallowing this guy. I can not put my feelings in to the words. He could be the next Fikret Kuskan or Ozan Guven :)

the story is good and well designed, picked. even the picture frames on the table have roles, nothing is too much, nothing is misery .

Photography, light is professionally set up.

Until last minute The movie is grabbing the viewers .

at the end; this film well worth to spend time to watch. thanks

Authentic story brilliant acting

I started watching this with low expectations but within a few minutes I realized that this was something special. It is surpurbly well acted, cinematography exceptional but most importantly the script is authentic and without cliche - something that is unfortunately very rare these days. A gem of a movie!

it was a great movie

It was one of the best movies I have ever seen. It was also good that such a good cast played this real script.

A Beauty!

Thank God...and the humans on this planet, there is more than Erdogan,Trump,Merkel and "power",there is cinema, films that can convey stories, complex or simple, humanity at it's best and Turkey often succeeds in this through directors, actors, actresses and the stories,yes...the stories!!!Love this!

Had given up on good movies---Annemin Yarasi was Excellent

My Mother's Wound is a powerful movie. Dramatic and suspenseful. It's rare that I feel so involved in a movie, I had feelings for everyone.

I haven't thought of the atrocious civil war, in civilized Europe at the end of the 20th century in a long time. I'm ashamed to say I don't even know who "won", or what was won.

How is it that we ordinary humans are capable of taking just vile action against each other. Especially to people we've known our entire lives?

So real and emotional!

When there is a war, the winner or loser is just on paper. The only real thing about war is whoever is touched by it has it as a curse for as long as they live. Perfect casting and spectacular acting. A big bravo to all.

Stay in the moment

I love this movie . My son was out of line but later even though I was still angry I just decided the past is in the past and I smiled he then was happy I am not mad at him . We had a great night eating donuts and laughing. The writer is amazing. Love the actors . I was following stars from the connection. Great job.
