Peter Kiefer Named Writer-at-Large of The Hollywood Reporter, Joining the Brand’s World-Class Editorial Team

Peter Kiefer has joined The Hollywood Reporter as writer-at-large.

In his new role, which begins Tuesday, Feb. 4, Kiefer will cover Hollywood’s agencies and studios while also writing broader insider profiles and investigative pieces on the industry’s most influential personalities and institutions. He will also cover politics, real estate and other topics of relevance to THR’s growing readership.

Kiefer, who is based in Los Angeles, will report to THR co-editor-in-chief Maer Roshan.

“We’re thrilled to bring Peter onto our team during this time of unprecedented editorial growth for us,” Roshan said. “Peter’s extraordinary work, breadth of coverage and long track record of breaking news promises to further cement THR’s position as the top entertainment brand in the country.”

Maer Roshan Named Co-Editor-in-Chief of The Hollywood Reporter, Joining Nekesa Mumbi Moody at the Editorial Helm

The Hollywood Reporter on Wednesday announced the appointment of Maer Roshan to co-editor-in-chief, sharing the role with editorial director Nekesa Mumbi Moody.

This augmentation to leadership comes as the longstanding entertainment brand continues to evolve and expand its ever-growing business. Both Roshan and Moody report to Penske Media chief operating officer George Grobar and are based in Los Angeles. Maer will begin in his new role Sept. 25.

Roshan is an award-winning editor, writer and media entrepreneur with a long record of creating exceptional content. He joins the team from Los Angeles Magazine, where he served as editor in chief since 2019.

Roshan has served as a top editor for several premium brands, including New York Magazine, Interview, Talk and 429 and successfully launched and edited a series of trailblazing print and online publications including Radar, TheFix.com and Punch!

The Daytime Emmys aren’t over yet. Three days after awarding some of its top categories during a pre-taped ceremony on CBS, the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has now announced the nominees for the 48th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards Children’s & Animation and Lifestyle categories.

The remainder of the year’s Daytime Emmys will be celebrated in two live-streamed events on July 17 (children’s and animated programming) and July 18 (lifestyle). As part of an agreement between the East Coast-based NATAS and the West Coast-based Television Academy, effective this year all children’s programming is now the domain of the Daytime Emmys.

The Daytime Emmy Awards are presented to individuals and programs broadcast between 2 a.m. and 6 p.m., as well as certain categories of digital and syndicated programming of similar content. SundanceTV has an excited new summer lineup. The network just announced the premiere dates for their new TV shows: The Name of the Rose, Rosehaven, Close Up with The Hollywood Reporter, and No One Saw a Thing.

Based on the novel by Umberto Eco, The Name of the Rose (May 23rd at 10 p.m. Et/Pt) "follows the Franciscan monk William of Baskerville (John Turturro) and his novice Adso von Melk (Damian Hardung) as they arrive at a secluded monastery in the Alps. There they become witnesses to a series of mysterious murders."

AMC Networks has set premiere dates for several new and returning series including season 2 of Lodge 49 and The Terror: Infamy, the second installment of the horror anthology series.

The Terror: Infamy will debut Monday, August 12 at at 9 Pm Et/8 Pm Ct, and will be followed by Season 2 of Lodge 49 at 10 Pm Et/ 9 Pm Ct.

Set during World War II, Season 2 of The Terror: Infamy centers on a series of bizarre deaths that haunt a Japanese-American community, and a young man’s journey to understand and combat the malevolent entity responsible.

The Terror: Infamy is an AMC Studios production produced by Scott Free, Emaj Productions and Entertainment 360.

SundanceTV has renewed Close Up With The Hollywood Reporter for a fifth season. The series is set to premiere at 10 a.m. Et/9 a.m. Ct on Sunday, June 23.
