Marvel Studios is doing something a bit different with its latest Thunderbolts* trailer: adopting an indie vibe.
In addition to reintroducing the film's ensemble, Thunderbolts*' marketing adopts the look and feel of an A24 trailer, complete with a surreal musical choice and neon colors for text introductions. This trailer not only pays homage to its director and cast's previous A24 projects -- citing Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus' work on Midsommar, A Different Man and You Hurt My Feelings -- but revealed the cinematographer, editor, production designer and composer have all worked on films for the acclaimed independent film company too. This vibe extends to new scenes revealed in the trailer, such as Yelena Belova facing a hallucinatory version of herself and Bucky Barnes punching a man in a chicken suit.
Except newcomer Bob/Sentry (Lewis Pullman), Thunderbolts*' cast hails from both Marvel films and post-Avengers...

Thunderbolts*, the Marvel Cinematic Universe's answer to the Suicide Squad, comes out on May 2. Director Jake Schreier will surely want to distance himself from those kinds of comparisons, but it’s hard not to see the similarities between the two stories. Thunderbolts* stars a rag-tag team of misunderstood antiheroes working for a shadowy organization ruled over by a badass woman. If Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) getting an expendable group of souped-up villains to do her bidding sounds similar to Amanda Waller (Viola Davis) pulling the strings in 2016’s Suicide Squad and 2021’s The Suicide Squad, that’s because it is.
Still, Schreier’s take on Thunderbolts* revamps the typical Thunderbolts lineup from Marvel Comics and gives it an MCU twist. There’s no sign of Daniel Brühl’s Helmut Zemo, nor the original comic book roster of Goliath, Beetle, Fixer, Moonstone, and Screaming Mimi. Instead, the live-action Thunderbolts...

It's safe to say that Captain America: Brave New World has taken the world by storm. The fourth installment in the Captain America film series has overperformed at the box office in its opening weekend, racking up an impressive $192.4 million worldwide (including $100 million domestically across just three days of the four-day weekend in the US). It's a strong start that highlights critic reviews aren't everything, and provided the movie maintains some kind of legs throughout the next few weeks, it should break even and finish around $500 - $600 million.
It's a vote of confidence for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as the franchise has had a number of box office lows in recent years, with last year's Deadpool and Wolverine marking the beginning of a cinematic comeback. Disney Plus series Agatha All Along also received high praise and a strong fan response, suggesting that the franchise was bouncing back. Although Captain America 4...

Marvel Studios released an exciting Big Game trailer for Thunderbolts* last night during the Super Bowl, and it spotlighted plenty of new footage of the six (seven if you count Lewis Pullman's "Bob") antiheroes that make up the team in action.
One character was conspicuously absent from quite a few shots, and fans are convinced that this is because they won't be making it to the end credits.
Possible spoilers follow.
Olga Kurylenko's Taskmaster didn't feature quite as prominently as her teammates in previous teasers, but this latest trailer makes it abundantly clear that the Black Widow baddie is not going to appear in a number of key scenes. The most obvious explanation for this is that Antonia Dreykov is going to be killed-off at some point before the final act, but there are other possibilities.
Could we see Taskmaster turn against the rest of the Thunderbolts, perhaps?...

In a sit-down conversation with uInterview, Taskmaster‘s Greg Davies and Alex Horne shared their favorite tasks from their British comedy series. Taskmaster is a comedy game show in which five celebrities compete in unique challenges of intelligence to win the prize pot, which consists of the other contestants’ personal belongings. Davies hosts the show and is assisted by Horne, the creator of the series, who sets up the challenges. Asked about their favorite tasks from this season by uInterview founder Erik Meers, Horne dove in, “There was one in which they had to sing a song by a campfire; the least annoying song wins. I liked that. Trying to do something that’s definitely annoying in a non-annoying way. That was a good little twist. There was one which they had to teach me a lesson I never forgot; most unforgettable lesson wins.” Taskmaster Season 19 is now available on the Taskmaster SuperMax+ streaming app.

Greg Davies cuts an imposing figure. At six foot nine, it’d be hard not to, but even through a computer screen, it makes sense why he was chosen to be the face of Taskmaster, the UK panel show where he judges comedians on their ability to perform a lengthy series of ridiculous and inane tasks. He’s got an aura about him, a natural sense of authority that commands a room just as much as anything else about him.

Having seen the trailers for Thunderbolts*, and the theories about team members dying, it definitely feels like one character won't make it very far in the film. The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU)'s Phase 5 is set to go out with a bang when the Thunderbolts* arrive on the big screen in May 2025. However, this team of misfits are clearly struggling to find a way to work together, or even a reason why they should all collaborate.
Where the Avengers was formed of a group of powerful heroes, there may have been tension, but everyone on the team had their hearts in the right place. The same cannot be said for the people set to join the Thunderbolts. A group of struggling, wannabe heroes, who generally have more of an interest in pursuing their own success and wealth instead of fighting for the greater good. But with such a disjointed team,...

It feels uncontroversial to say that, between the time Covid lockdowns were ordered and the time restrictions were lifted, a lot of us forgot how to behave in public. Customers are surly with cashiers. Passengers won’t follow instructions on planes. Audience members fail to remain quiet during live shows — or do they? If James Acaster’s new special, Hecklers Welcome, is anything to go by, maybe a comedy audience is only as obnoxious as the comic they’re seeing, even when said comic explicitly gives them license to pop off.
Acaster has been prominent in British comedy for around a decade and has already racked up a season of Taskmaster, his own panel show (Hypothetical), several podcasts (most notably Off Menu With Ed Gamble and James Acaster) and a few books, among many other credits. Hecklers Welcome, premiering on HBO November 23rd, is his third special. No one who...

Kids can now participate in Junior Taskmaster, which debuts on Channel 4 in November. Here’s the trailer for the show.
When comedian Alex Horne roped in a few of his funny friends to take part in a one-off task based live show in 2010 at that year’s Edinburgh Fringe Festival, he couldn’t have forseen the behemoth it would become. From Joe Wilkinson’s heartbreaking encounter with a potato, Bob Mortimer’s special cuddle to a tense live round of Sausage or Finger, Taskmaster has become one of the most popular programmes on television.
Channel 4 is currently broadcasting series 18, which stars Andy Zaltzman, Babatunde Aléshé, Emma Sidi, Jack Dee and Rosie Jones.
It’s surprising that it has taken this long for a spin-off to emerge, but here we are.

A praiseworthy score of 88% on Rotten Tomatoes is reason enough to bring back a second season of the British black comedy Am I Being Unreasonable? Written by and starring Daisy Cooper and Selin Hizli, the show is a beautifully dark concoction of betrayal, female friendship, family and unfiltered honesty. Cooper and Hizli met at drama school, although their friendship didn't get off to the best start. Hizli told The Independent that Cooper compared her to Lily Allen for her arrogance. Evidently, the two got over their differences, and TV is all the better for it.
It's hard to think of much that could've been added (or taken away) from their series to make it any better. The laughs were in the right place, the twists took everyone by surprise and the darker moments left viewers a little creeped-out. Season 2 is due to come out next year with, hopefully, the same...

Despite the challenges of entering a competitive market like the U.S., where audiences are accustomed to local content, Australian TV shows have been relatively successful. Beyond the well-known success of the hit children’s show “Bluey,” the most popular Australian show globally, the rising popularity of reality shows from Australia is also surprising and may indicate some untapped opportunities for streaming platforms to license content.
Among English-speaking countries, Australia is the third-largest exporter of TV shows to the U.S. in terms of demand, behind the United Kingdom and Canada, and ranks seventh overall. But when it comes to reality TV, Australia is the second most popular country of origin, trailing only the United Kingdom, as of the third quarter of 2024. Reality shows from Australia had a higher demand share than any other major country in the U.S. market, with 28.3% of the total demand for Australian shows coming from this genre.
