The title sequence uses frames from Stan Brakhage's camera-less collage film Mothlight.
The series reunites director Alice Troughton with actor Colin Morgan. They previously worked together on the Doctor Who episode 2008 'Midnight' and on the BBC Merlin Series.
On August 12 2016 the BBC said it would not commission a second series.
Colin Morgan has worked with both real real-life husband and wife, Harry Peacock and Katherine Parkinson in different projects. He worked with Katherine in the TV series 'Humans', where they played Leo and Laura Hawkins respectively, while in 'The Living and the Dead' he worked with Harry and they appeared as Nathan Appleby and Smith respectively.
Colin Morgan and Kerrie Hayes have worked together again in the short film 'The Laughing King'. Colin played the main character of Jake.
