Its a touching story of a journey of a woman. The film keeps you involved from start to finish with its "based on a true story" storyline and excellent music. The movie leaves you with many thought provoking questions about life and its various facets. I wish the film and its cast/creators all the success.

This film transports the viewer to another time and place with lovely costumes, all lit beautifully and accompanied by wonderful music. The heroine Yadvi, draws the viewer in with a story that at times is heartbreaking but displays a strong woman who ultimately triumphs over her circumstances. It's a story one can identify with and is also good for the entire family.

I'd rather be water boarded while watching The Room. At least that film had conflict and anything interesting happening. The casting of the main character defies logic and space-time, as she goes from a late teen to a 45-year-old playing a mid-20s version of the character. The story barely exists. The dialogue seems leftover from earlier versions of the script that have been ripped from their context. The other reviews of this movie have clearly been left by those involved with production and their friends. I can't think of a worse waste time that doesn't involve physical pain.

#Yadvi is the true story of a Patiala princess, who maintains her dignity n pride, despite being neglected by her husband n father-in-law. She is brought up in total luxury, but loses all her wealth (due to some bad choices) n starts to lead a commoner's life. Jyoti as the princess n Rahul as her husband, are decent performers. The locations seem authentic. The music matches the film's mood. Since the response is very poor, your chances of watching this film are restricted. Rating 3/5.
Rare it is to watch something of this high quality and sheer beauty. A real life portrayal of the strength of character of a woman in adversity. Relevant to all cultures and ethnicities (including children), you can totally see yourself as the main character and imagine what you would have done in the difficult situations she faced. A MUST WATCH!!!
Yadvi is a gorgeous, heartfelt film, where excellent acting joins with a great script to bring a bygone era to life. Jyoti Singh excels both in the starring role, the noble princess Yadvi, and also as the film's director. I have no idea how she did both at the same time! Excellent sets and richly lit cinematography make this movie a delight for the eyes from beginning to end. The script, written by Gauri Singh, enables the biographical portrait to gently and poetically unfold, gracefully bringing the viewer along through each phase of Yadvi's life, where tragedy and nobility of character are inextricably interwoven.
My pranams to all who were involved in this beautiful project!

A compelling, unflinching glimpse into the private life of Indian royalty during a time of change, and great loss. Yadvi is an exceptional female character, unlike any ordinary leading lady. The film's pace allows the viewer to become a part of this family, and to experience the events without the rushing of typical "Hollywood" movies. A rewarding experience, and beautiful filmmaking.

Yadvi was captivating and moving. With such incredible visuals, viewers were enthralled by the sheer beauty of each scene alone! But as the plot unfolded, it was impossible to keep yourself from falling in love with it's characters, who were unbelievably authentic and charming. The realness of the film was really something unique--with such an intimate story, you could truly feel the significance of what was being shared as it unraveled. And the sound track was just as fantastic! A MUST SEE!
Yadvi..was a wonderfully filmed movie and very emotional. It was very professionally done. The actors were great. It was an eye opener about another culture. I also got to meet and talk to the incredible filmmaker--Gauri Singh Puri. Met her and her sister at the Eastern North Carolina Film Festival in Winterville, NC. I'm looking forward to seeing her next project.

Loved to see the true story of our nation. Rest all Indian movies are just short time memories. This movie will stay classical and forever.
This film is a story of what true commitment is. Yadvi is committed to her husband throughout her life even when times get tough. Where others would be hateful, she was calm and loving. This film showed another side of life at that time for women in general. I would definitely recommend seeing this to anyone.
