- Elio, a space fanatic with an active imagination, finds himself on a cosmic misadventure where he must form new bonds with alien lifeforms, navigate a crisis of intergalactic proportions and somehow discover who he is truly meant to be.
- A young boy named Elio Solis visits an air and space museum, where he sees a model of the voyager, causing him to query whether or not aliens exist.
Many years pass and Elios dream of being abducted by aliens grows ever stronger. Unfortunately, two kids named Bryce and Caleb mess around with Elios ham radio and a fight breaks out between them. Elio visits his aunt, Olgas workplace and a conspiracy theorist, Gunther Melmac says that aliens might just exist. This greatly excites Elio, but when he records his voice, using Melmacs device, he very nearly causes his aunt to lose her job. Having had enough of his antics, Elios aunt sends him off to camp, where he reunites with the aforementioned bully. Elio attempts to punch him but is abducted by a huge mother spaceship, where he is greeted by an alien called OOOOOO. Elio is greatly pleased with this. Having heard about the fight the night prior, Olga picks up what she thinks is Elio, but she suspects something is off about him.
The Spaceship lands in a location named the communiverse, a place for aliens of all shapes and sizes to come together and trade knowledge of their own worlds. Using a clone, the aliens induct Elio and invite him to run for ambassador of Earth, however before he is considered, his rival for the role, Grigon threatens to kill all the aliens. Elio tries to create peace between him and Grigon and when he learns that this would earn him the ambassador job immediately, he attempts to negotiate with Grigon, but accidentally calls him a bad father, greatly offending him. As Elio tries to escape, he runs into Grigons son, Glordon and he decides to use him to his advantage, in a bid to make Grigon leave the Communiverse for good. Together, Elio and Glordon return to the Communiverse and make Grigon leave, so long as his son isn't hurt.
Soon after, Elio tells Glordon the truth about him feeling alone and Glordon tells Elio he does not wish to become a war machine. Suddenly, Elio comes up with an idea of cloning Glordon, so he can stay, whilst the real one is put on an escape route. Elio hands Grigon the clone Glordon and attempts to pass him off as the real one. Unfortunately, Grigon soon comes to the realization that he is not the real Glordon and calls for one of his ambassadors, called Questa to expose the whereabouts of the real Glordon. Sending out his army, Questa is swayed by Elios lie and decides to send him back home to invade Grigon. In the meantime, Glordon unintentionally starts up the shuttle to Earth and begins travelling towards the planet.
Having arrived back on Earth, a dejected Elio spots Olga looking for him in worry, alongside his clone. Olga grew suspicious of his clone almost immediately, because it wasn't interested in space or aliens at all. Elio and Olga reunite with each other and the duo head out to find Grigon. Elios clone sacrifices itself to cause a diversion for the military. With Bryce and Melmacs help with avoiding debris along the way, both Elio and Olga travel using the shuttle and are transported back to the Communiverse. Upon arriving back to the Communiverse, Elio hands Glordon back to Grigon, who instantly rips open his suit and begins swaddling his son in delight. Grigon apologizes to both Elio and Glordon for what he had done and he offers Elio the role of his ambassador, but he politely declines, saying that Earth is where he belongs and they say their farewells. Questa tells Elio that he is never truly alone, before transporting Elio and Olga back to Earth one again.
A little while later, Elio and Bryce who have become friends use their ham radio to contact Glordon and the trio communicate with each other.
