For a short film, there is a lot here to unpack. Suicide is not an answer. No matter how forgotten or lonely you feel, you are loved. No matter how insignificant you feel, people need you. If you give-up on you, then you gave up on them.
To quote my grandpa, "Biology be damned, only love makes families." He stepped up and raised my grandma's children and never looked back. He would add, "Any thing that you do out of love, you will never regret."
Children can be very receptive and mature. Such as the case here. There is a hole in her heart dad can't fill and there is a hole in his heart she can't fill. What she can do is set out to rebuild her family.
Indie filmmakers are starving artists and entrepreneurs. For them, making movies in a true passion. They don't have the luxury of a big budget, so they have to work harder.

This beautiful film by DCTF is much shorter than all their other films (at just 47 minutes) but it is so worth seeing. It takes a look at the life of a preteen girl who is dealing with the recent suicide of her mom. Her poor dad is struggling to figure out if he should tell his young daughter (an only child) why her mom took her own life.
I've said it before and will say it again that the writer (Candy) knows how to tell a story that is realistic and believable. She doesn't sugar coat hard topics such as suicide. IMO, this is a faith based film, even though the topic is suicide. It's handled so beautifully and so gently.
Though produced in Terre Haute, this movie premiered in Paris, Illinois and I had the joy of seeing it on the big screen at the Paris theatre. I highly recommend this film and it can be seen on Amazon Prime. I enjoyed the acting from the teen girl and the actor portraying her dad. I enjoyed the storyline, the music and the cinematography. Invest a little time to watch this movie. It's worth it. We should all be supporting independent artists. They pour so much into their work, not for wealth or fame, but to truly capture the heart of an audience, which this films does.

This is such a fantastic movie. Not too long, at just 47 minutes. We enjoyed everything about it: the writing, the cinematography, the musical scores, the acting. It was all just fantastic. The subject matter was serious (dealing with mental illness and even suicide) but the film had some comedic moments in it as well, which was appreciated to lighten the mood a bit but still keeping with the seriousness of the film.
This film is available on Amazon Prime which is where we watched and we do highly recommend it. As I said above, it's a short watch at just 47 minutes long. So you cannot use the excuse that you don't have time to watch a two hour movie or that you have a short attention span. See it if you can, especially if you know anyone who suffers from mental illness of any kind or know anyone who has lost a loved one to suicide.

The overall storyline is a difficult one dealing with suicide and a family trying to move forward in the aftermath. Even though it's a heavy topic the writer manages to bring lighthearted humor and hope to the story. The acting by Morgan and Jason is spot on. The range of emotions they both had to bring to the screen is wide covering everything from grief, anger, confusion, happiness and playfulness. It makes the viewer appreciate the importance of mental health and taking care of those around us. It also is a great reminder that even after dark storms there is hope for healing and a future. It's worth the short watch.
This was actually the first movie I watched from Candy, Daniel and their team. I was very surprised by how good it was. I didn't know what to expect and was pleasantly surprised by this one. I always had in my mind that Christian based movies were gonna be what I call Bible beating movies. This movie among all of the others have gentle reminders to people about being better and have an open mind. Give people a chance to show them how they really are. Some will surprise you and end up making a wonderful impact in your life. One that you will never forget. Open your eyes to a whole new world and life might just give you the slight kick in the pants that you needed.
