Avril Lavigne’s ‘Greatest Hits’ Album Will Celebrate ‘the Best Damn Thing’ and Her Best Damn Songs

Avril Lavigne will revisit The Best Damn Thing and her best damn songs on the upcoming compilation album Greatest Hits, out June 21. The record will span two decades of releases from the musician, beginning with her 2002 debut, Let Go, and extending through 2022’s Love Sux.

“Can’t do a greatest hits tour without a greatest hits album,” Lavigne wrote on Instagram. The accompanying Greatest Hits tour was announced in January. Kicking off on May 22, the stretch of shows will feature special guests All Time Low and Simple Plan.

Kenneth Branagh’s ‘A Haunting in Venice’ Stays Atop U.K., Ireland Box Office

Disney’s Agatha Christie adaptation “A Haunting in Venice” stayed atop the U.K. and Ireland box office for the second successive weekend with £1.4 million ($1.8 million), per numbers from Comscore.

The film, directed by Kenneth Branagh, where he plays detective Hercule Poirot, now has a total of £4.9 million after two weekends in release.

Lionsgate’s “Expend4bles” debuted in second place with £761,444. In its third weekend, Warner Bros.’ “The Nun II” scared up £703,819 in third position for a total of £5.1 million.

Sony’s “The Equalizer 3” collected £537,327 in fourth place in its fourth weekend for a total of £7.2 million. Blackbear’s “Dumb Money” debuted in fifth position with £506,095.

Yash Raj Films’ “Jawan,” starring Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, continued its golden run, taking in £207,470 in its third weekend for a total of £2.7 million.

Coming up midweek, on Sept. 27 is Trafalgar Releasing’s drama-romance “Surprised by Oxford.” Trafalgar has two more releases...

Update (3/14): Michelle Zauner joined in on the joke about Japanese Breakfast’s 2021 Jubilee cover art and Machine Gun Kelly’s Mainstream Sellout album art’s loose similarities. “2022’s feud of the year,” she tweeted, sharing the article below. She also discussed the story in an interview with Pitchfork. “I don’t actually think it looks anything like my album cover at all,” she said, “but I think it’s very funny that Rolling Stone put up an article about it just because there’s a circular fruit in the foreground.

After two weeks on top, Billie Eilish’s Happier Than Ever falls to Number Three, while Doja Cat’s Planet Her rises to Number Two. Kid Laroi takes fourth with F*ck Love, while country duo Dan + Shay see the biggest debut of the week as Good Things bows at Number Five.

Two weeks before its August 20th release, Lorde’s anticipated third studio album, Solar Power, rises to Number One on this week’s Apple Music Pre-Add Chart.

Pre-adds allow listeners to queue up an album to be added to their library when it’s released, offering a good indication of the albums that fans are most excited for. It’s a strong sign that it’s leading the pre-add chart, where previous Rs 200 toppers like Rod Wave, Olivia Rodrigo and Moneybagg Yo have also led.
