FKA twigs’s debut album, 2014’s LP1, wasn’t a total reinvention of R&b as much as it was a sensory-driven variation on the genre, with an ear toward British electronic music—primarily dub, glitch, and U.K. bass. twigs is a detail-oriented soundscaper and consummate singer who makes compelling left-of-center pop music, regardless of notions of trailblazing. In that sense, her latest album, Eusexua, continually reminds you of LP1.

Where twigs’s debut moved like molasses, though, Eusexua is mostly a briskly paced techno album. It’s propulsive and fun, but, like LP1, it’s wrapped in anguish. On “Sticky,” twigs sings, “I tried to fuck you with the lights on/In the hope you’d think I’m open,” a call-back to “Lights On.”

‘The Hillbillies’ samples Bon Iver’s ‘Pdlif’ and is the latest joint effort from cousins Lamar and Keem, who previously worked together on tracks such as ‘N95’, ‘Die Hard’, ‘Range Brothers’, ‘Savior’, ‘Nile’, and the Grammy award-winning ‘Family Ties’, among others.

The Beyoncé-inspired thriller series “Swarm” comes with an EP carrying songs from Childish Gambino, Kirby and the show’s fictional star Ni’Jah.

If you didn’t love Beyoncé enough, now there’s a show that seems to be inspired by her and the singer’s enormous fanbase, the BeyHive. Dominique Fishback leads the eight-episode series, as obsessive and crazed fan Dre, who will go to violent lengths to defend her favorite Queen Bey-like R&b pop star Ni’Jah.

The show dropped on Amazon’s Prime Video on Friday and features six new tracks from some of Hollywood’s biggest music talents, including the show’s co-creator Donald Glover.

Donald Glover is finally back with new music — kinda — releasing a new EP tied to the world of his new horror series about an obsessive pop fan, Swarm.

The five-song Swarm EP is “credited” to Ni’jah, the fictional pop star portrayed by Nirine S. Brown in the show, but the songs were primarily written and performed by the singer-songwriter Kirby. Glover executive produced the project and has a co-writing credit on the opening track, “Something Like That”; he also guests under his Childish Gambino moniker on the closer, “Sticky.

On Saturday, Courteney Cox used a Drake-themed skit to amuse her followers on Instagram. Drake flashed the 58-year-old actress the middle finger in a brief video that was posted by the actress, who was recently spotted in Santa Monica.

Drake can be seen dancing to his hit song Sticky at the beginning of the clip. When Drake blows a raspberry, his pals cheer him on and laugh, and Courteney hesitantly exits.
