While the other streaming services set up recurring franchises, Hulu has opted to get a bit more experimental with its original offerings in August 2021.
Hulu’s list of new releases this month is highlighted by three original series concepts with promise. Reservation Dogs premieres on August 9. Co-created by Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok), this story will follow four indigenous teenagers in Oklahoma as they stave off boredom and adulthood. Next up is Nine Perfect Strangers on August 18. This miniseries, based on a book of the same name, is produced by David E. Kelley and features staggering cast of Nicole Kidman, Melissa McCarthy, Luke Evans, Samara Weaving, and more.
Only Murders in the Building is likely the biggest thing to look forward to in August though. Premiering on August 31, this comedy stars Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez as three true crime-obsessed friends who stumble into a true crime of their own.

Hulu is out with its list of all the content that’s coming and going to the streaming service in February.
Highlights include the series premiere of Zoë Kravitz’s “High Fidelity” reboot, coming on Valentine’s Day, in which she stars as a record store owner in a gentrified Brooklyn neighborhood, revisiting past relationships through music and trying to get over her one true love. Her character was played by John Cusack in the 2000 film, and both are based on Nick Hornby’s 1995 novel of the same name.
There is also a new episode of “Into the Dark” titled “My Valentine,” which will be released on Feb. 7, in which a pop singer’s ex-boyfriend and manager steals her songs and gives them to his new protégé.

Fall is upon us, and with it a fresh new crop of Netflix movies to curl up with when the weather starts to turn. Next month’s most exciting addition to the streaming service is “Mudbound,” the Southern World Ward II epic from up-and-comer-turned-force-to-be-reckoned-with Dee Rees. Netflix sealed the biggest deal of this year’s Sundance Film Festival when it paid a whopping $12.5 million for “Mudbound,” setting a high bar for the drama. Balancing out the heavier fare are classic comedies like “Men In Black” and “Scary Movie,” as well as “Field of Dreams” and “42” for the baseball lovers.
The fresh crop also includes a bevy of critically acclaimed documentaries, such as “Eventual Salvation,” “Chasing Trane: The John Coltrane Documentary,” and “Cuba and the Cameraman.” Jim Carrey’s creative process gets a deep dive in “Jim & Andy: The Great Beyond,” which includes never-before-seen behind the scenes footage from Milos Forman...

[[tmz:video id="0_1fqpejdq"]] Bob the Drag Queen is calling out LL Cool J and Chrissy Teigen -- insisting their show, "Lip Sync Battle," copied "RuPaul's Drag Race," and not the other way around. Bob, who won season 8 of 'Drag Race,' ... wants to shut up the haters who claim the recent season 9 finale ripped off the 'Lsb' format. Bob says his show's always featured a sudden death lip sync battle between the show's lowest scoring drag queens. Not to mention,...

It’s been a busy year for Bob the Drag Queen.
Ever since the 30-year-old comedian took home the crown on the season 8 finale of RuPaul’s Drag Race, he’s been on a race of his own — traveling across the world (purse first, of course) for appearances, producing his own hour-long standup special (Suspiciously Large Woman, premiering at Outfest Los Angeles in July), and filming roles in movies (including the Scarlett Johansson-led Rough Night, out now, and the new comedy Cherry Pop, alongside Drag Race alums Latrice Royale, Detox and Tempest DuJour).
But one thing you won’t...

20th Century Fox is filling out its cast for their highly-anticipated New Mutants movie, with two more actors signing on. After being rumored for the Sunspot role earlier this month, Henry Zaga has officially come aboard, with newcomer Blu Hunt also signing on to play Dani Moonstar, a.k.a. Mirage. Blu Hunt was mentioned in a report last month as one of the contenders for that role, alongside True O'Brien. These two roles fill out the main cast, with just one key role left to be filled at this time.
Writer-director Josh Boone took to Instagram last May to reveal the characters that would be featured in his New Mutants movie. Those characters were Magik, Wolfsbane, Dani Moonstar, Cannonball, Sunspot and Warlock. After months of rumors, it was finally confirmed that Anya Taylor-Joy will play Magik, with Maisie Williams portraying Wolfsbane. More recently, Stranger Things star Charlie Heaton has come aboard to play Cannonball,...

Another original arriving in February is Utopia Falls (also premiering on February 14), which looks to be teenage-oriented series combining Harry Potter, The Expanse, and music. That sound like something that might interest you?
