Drugs are smuggled in many ways, from secret cargo routes and submarines, tunnels, hidden in animals and humans and soaked into hair, clothing and even foodstuffs where a process of re liquifying and drying at the destination enables the drug to be separated.
The director, Justin Simien has also collaborated with actors DeRon Horton and Blair Underwood in the Dear White People Netflix series.
