Our family enjoyed this movie, and give 8 stars for acting and plot. We have always been a fan, of Eric Roberts! This movie, is about a father who goes missing and his son, who wants to find out what happened to him. We love supernatural movies and this was a Good watch.
Couldn't get my head around the Eric Roberts fanboy review giving 8 stars
Guessing the 10mins, if that, of Eric Roberts takes this movie and it's running costs out of the B Movie bracket.
Movie listed as Adventure ONLY - I must be missing something here.
The scene directors (or whatever the correct term is) constant encouragement to capture the main character strutting towards then pausing for the camera.... needs to go back to art school or find another vocation.
Apologies if some find this too critical, it's an opinion, it's my opinion.
I hadn't even heard about this 2019 horror movie titled "The Wind Walker" prior to sitting down now in 2020 to watch it. I didn't even read the synopsis when I found this movie. It was labeled as a horror movie, and that was all that was needed really to win me over. Plus, the movie did actually have an interesting enough cover.
Well, now that I have seen the movie that writers David G.B. Brown and Tom Chaney put together, I am somewhat baffled. This movie had one of the most shallow and pointless storylines I have ever encountered. I mean, a writer returns to finish something his father started. And that was essentially it. Everything else in the movie just felt like it was there to fill out the time.
The storyline was utter rubbish, bluntly speaking. I was by no account entertained by what transpired on the screen. Yet, I somehow miraculously managed to endure the movie to the very end.
It is simply beyond me why Eric Roberts is labeled amongst the top billing of this movie, as he was not even in the movie for a whole five minutes. But hey, I suppose with his name being familiar, why not...
For a horror movie, then "The Wind Walker" was just downright boring and uneventful. There was nothing, and I mean absolutely nothing, scary about this movie in any way. Not unless you consider poor CGI that looked like leftover effects from a dubious 1990s PC game to be scary. A horror movie falls utterly to the ground if it has bad special effects. And "The Wind Walker" had bad effects, believe you me.
I am rating "The Wind Walker" a generous two out of ten stars. While it was a bad movie, it doesn't quite rank up amongst the worst of movies I have had the fortune to sit through. Do yourself a favor, if you enjoy horror movies, and don't bother with "The Wind Walker".

Wind Walker? Or what should we call it? This is quite the low budget effort, which is why I'm cutting it some slack. I totally understand if you feel differently and rated it way lower than I did. Cinematography is good all things considered and the attacks are filmed nicely too.
It may take too long to finally get going ... but once it does there is enough excitement for the kind of movie this is. The actors are ok too - which is not always a given with low budget fare like this. It's likely you don't care, but if you do you will find it enticing to an extend. The CGi towards the end is not really good ... but that was to be expected
