Just months after “Young Sheldon” aired its series finale, favorites Georgie and Mandy are back for yet another spinoff.

Titled “Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage,” the new CBS sitcom will see Montana Jordan and Emily Osment reprise their “Young Sheldon” roles as Georgie and Mandy, respectively, as the young couple navigates marriage and parenting.

This time, Georgie and Mandy have packed their bags and headed to live with Mandy’s parents, played by Will Sasso and Rachel Bay Jones, who have both appeared in “Young Sheldon.” They will also be joined by some newcomers to the “Big Bang Theory” universe.

The second major spin-off of "The Big Bang Theory" — which itself is a spin-off of the spin-off "Young Sheldon" — gives away the game right there in the title. "Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage" gives Georgie Cooper (Montana Jordan) and his wife Mandy McAllister (Emily Osment), who got married in season 7 of "Young Sheldon," the spotlight as they try to navigate a life together as young parents. The thing is because Chuck Lorre keeps expanding the Sheldon Cooper Cinematic Universe (the Sccu?) even though Sheldon Cooper's future is firmly established thanks to The Big Bang Theory — where Jim Parsons plays Sheldon — we already know that Georgie gets married and divorced twice, hence the words "first marriage" in that title.

With the expanding The Big Bang Theory franchise, there are questions about how old George is in Young Sheldon and how that works for the sequel series. Young Sheldon is set in the 1980s, making it sometimes difficult to determine the ages of the characters. With many of the key characters in the show having already appeared as older versions in The Big Bang Theory, it added to the confusion, which will get even worse with the new upcoming series Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage.

As a child, Sheldon is surrounded by his family, neighbors, and friends, whose actors also needed to be able to demonstrate their character's frustrations with the child prodigy, while still showing him adequate affection. Phoebe Dynevor, Bridgerton‘s Daphne Basset, has signed on to star in Famous, described as a thriller about the dark side of celebrity. Dynevor has been cast alongside Zac Efron, who was already confirmed to play the lead role in the drama directed by Jody Hill.

“In Famous, Zac Efron (The Iron Claw) will star in dual roles, playing both overzealous fan, Lance Dunkquist, and Hollywood heartthrob, James Jansen,” reads Black Bear and Esmail Corp’s synopsis. “Lance Dunkquist has one asset that’s about to change his life – he has the face of a movie star. And not just any movie star – Lance is the spitting image of a Hollywood icon, James Jansen. Lance is about to travel to Los Angeles to make his dream come true. Lance is going to be famous, no matter what it takes…...

Zac Efron is set to star alongside himself in A24's Famous, a Jody Hill-directed psychological thriller where he'll take on dual roles. The film marks Efron's second collaboration with A24, following last year's critically praised The Iron Claw. As per a report by Deadline, the project will be based on Blake Crouch's best-selling novel of the same name, and follows two men, Lance Dunkquist and James Jansen, who share a striking resemblance. The film's ominous synopsis reads:

"Lance Dunkquist has the face of a movie star. Not just any movie star - Lance has been mistaken for Hollywood star James Jansen 228 times. And now Lance is about to go to LA to make his dream come true. No matter what it takes."

A24 loved Zac Efron’s work in “The Iron Claw” so much, it’s tapping him to play not one but two roles in another upcoming thriller.

A24 has pre-bought the domestic distribution rights to “Famous,” a thriller that will star Efron in a dual role and will be directed by Jody Hill (“Eastbound and Down”), an individual with knowledge of the project told IndieWire.

“Famous” is also being produced by “Mr. Robot” creator Sam Esmail alongside Michael Sagol, and Chad Hamilton producing.

“Famous” is based on the book of the same name by Blake Crouch. It follows the life of Lancelot Blue Dunkquist, an overzealous fan and loser living above his parents’ garage and working a meaningless job but who is the spitting image of world famous movie star James Jansen. You can't keep a good Cooper down. Young Sheldon may have seen its final episode, but that doesn't mean audiences are done enjoying every bit of the family that bore a "bazinga" loving Sheldon.

This time, however, the focus is on the eldest son as he navigates the adult world while starting a family with his wife, who is twelve years older than the tire entrepreneur in the new show Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage.

Obviously, as a spinoff of a spinoff, there are bound to be some familiar faces returning from either of its sister series, but for now, CBS is keeping the cast and characters close to its chest with a core four.

As it stands, it seems like the series will be all about the McAllisters, with Mandy's parents in tow to help out with her small, budding family.

Georgie & Mandys First Marriage executive producer Steve Holland opened up about the creative teams decision to develop a Young Sheldon spinoff centered around Montana Jordan and Emily Osments titular characters. The new series will be a part of CBS 2024-2025 Primetime Schedule.

Speaking with Deadline, Holland confirmed that the idea behind Georgie & Mandys First Marriage series came after they were very impressed with the onscreen chemistry between Jordan and Osment. ‘Ironclaw’ star Zac Efron has been set to lead the comedy from Jody Hill ‘Famous.’

Efron will take on the role of Lance Dunkquist, a fame-hungry man who has one thing going for him: he looks exactly like Hollywood superstar James Jansen, who will also be played by Efron. Bent on using that coincidence to his advantage, Lance travels to Los Angeles determined to make it big no matter what it takes.

‘Mr. Robot’ creator Sam Esmail is attached as a producer. The project is adapted from the novel of the same name by Blake Crouch, with Chad Hodge handling the screenplay. Esmail and Chad Hamilton will produce through their Esmail Corp banner. Black Bear will present the package at EFM to international buyers with CAA Media Finance and WME Independent representing the U.S. rights.

Netflix prequel series Narcos: Mexico Season 2 is now confirmed, continuing the 1980s-set exploits of the cartel drama.

Netflix doesn't plan to kick its Narcos habit anytime soon. A quick renewal was given in early December to the recent prequel iteration, making Narcos: Mexico Season 2 official.

Mind you, the billing identifies the new frame as “Season 2,” even though the November-premiered Mexico season was, technically, Season 4 of the main Narcos series, which makes this new one Season 5.

It didn’t take long after “Vice Principals,” but Danny McBride is heading back to HBO. And he’s brought some new family members with him.

HBO announced Tuesday that they have given a full series order to the half-hour comedy “The Righteous Gemstones,” starring McBride, John Goodman, Adam Devine, and Edi Patterson. The quartet will star as the Gemstones, a televangelist family that sounds about as scrupulous and disciplined as the Roys from “Succession.” In addition to creating the series, McBride will also be a writer and director on the show.

The show sees McBride reteam with longtime collaborators Jody Hill and David Gordon Green. It’s not only tentpole sequels like Avengers: Infinity War, Deadpool 2, and Sicario: Day of the Soldado that Josh Brolin can be seen this summer. In addition to his three theatrical outings, Brolin will round off the summer with his Netflix comedy The Legacy of a Whitetail Deer Hunter. After opening to unenthusiastic reviews at the South by Southwest Film Festival (including our own), Netflix has now released the trailer for the film.

The story centers on Brolin’ Buck Ferguson, a deer-hunting TV personality. After Ferguson reconnects with his distant son Jaden (played by Young Sheldon’s Montana Jordan), he plans to shoot a special episode of his show that covers his son’s inaugural whitetail deer hunt. Along with their happy-go-lucky cameraman Don (played by Danny McBride), Ferguson and his son embark on an adventure that explores the forgotten importance of their father-son relationship.

Netflix has released the first trailer for The Legacy of a Whitetail Deer Hunter. The movie features Josh Brolin in the lead and serves as another brick in the wall for the actor who is having a banner year. Not only did the Oscar-nominee star as Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War and Cable in Deadpool 2, both of which are among the biggest movies of the year (the former of which is now one of the biggest movies of all time), but he's also back in Sicario: Day of the Soldado this weekend, which has been getting very positive buzz. This time, he's taking a break from the seriousness to star in a little father/son comedy for Netflix.

The trailer plays on the idea of a father being disconnected from his modern son, who enjoys the comfort of wifi and a Marriott hotel, as opposed to camping and learning to hunt.

We're a little over halfway through 2018, but it's kind of becoming the year of Josh Brolin. “Vice Principals” and “Eastbound & Down” co-creator Jody Hill is back with his first film in almost a decade. Like all his major projects to date, “The Legacy of a Whitetail Deer Hunter” is a comedy with Danny McBride in a plum role. Hill and McBride penned the Netflix script with John Carcieri, a producer on their past HBO series.

Leading the cast is John Brolin as Buck Ferguson, a hunter who fronts “Buck Fever” wildlife documentary specials. He brings his cameraman (McBride) and pre-teen son (Montana Jordan of “Young Sheldon”) on a rugged trek, but the latter misses the modern comforts of 21st century life. In his boredom, the boy reveals that his mother (Carrie Coon) — whom Buck misses two years post-divorce — is about to become engaged (Scoot McNairy of “Halt and Catch Fire” plays her boyfriend).

Currently, North Carolina can celebrate the Oscar wins for Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri and the forthcoming theatrical release of Sundance hit American Animals, a Kentucky-set story directed by British director Bart Layton that was mostly shot near Charlotte, including at Davidson College.

“Fargo” and “The Leftovers” actress Carrie Coon is the latest name added to the vast official cast of Marvel Studios’ upcoming “Avengers: Infinity War.” Coon voices Proxima Midnight, a member of villain Thanos’ Black Order, in the ensemble superhero movie, which opens worldwide from April 25.

The news of Coon’s participation was revealed by “Infinity War” directors Joe and Anthony Russo in an interview with British magazine Radio Times. Having reconfirmed that Irish actor Tom Vaughn-Lawlor was voicing fellow Black Order member Ebony Maw, the brothers were asked if they could reveal “any other interesting voices in the Black Order.” “Carrie Coon is Proxima Midnight,” Joe Russo said.
