Outlast 2

This was a solid horror game that has a creepy atmosphere. The game has an interesting idea and the setting in the woods. It was well done. The game delivers plenty of shocks. The game wasn't as scary as the first Outlast, but this is a satisfying experience. The game handles the dark really well in a place where the evil could attack the main character from anywhere.

After I finished the outlast and the dlc I headed into this and well,it's a breathtaking horror game,the jumpscares are expectable but still scary! Only one big problem that one isn't enjoyable like the first two,so sorry red barrels,only 7/10

This game is a classic in the horror video game genre,i don't even know why some people here are giving it a bad review..look dont expect it to be like the first one which is also a master piece,dont compare the two because we know its hard to beat a first release practicly in most franchises and Red Barrel wasnt aiming to top the first one,it was aiming to give fans a different story and perspective from the first one of which they did very well.

OUTLAST 2 (2017) is a horror survival game that, similar to the first game, has you play as another investigative journalist, that is soon ambushed by a horrific cult. While this game is still pretty unsettling and at times terrifying, it doesn't quite pack the same punch as the first game.

This game has definite Jonestown/ Manson family vibes, yet takes place in remote Arizona desert, with a twisted pseudo-religious cult. As a player, you are made to be highly defenseless and vulnerable hich amps up the tension.

Outlast II was a game filled with difficult challenging terrain to navigate and psychologically creepy due to the story and characters in the game.

"Investigative Journalists Blake and his wife Lynn, travel to the Arizona Desert to pursue a lead on a popular suicide, but are soon ambushed by a mysterious and terrifying cult."

Overall, this game is a pretty great horror game, fun to play, and definitely disturbing. I've heard it had to be severely edited to allow it to be able to have the M (mature rating). This was a great way to get creeped out.

When I played outlast two, the bars were set very high for the sequels to beat. When I got to play this game at a friends house, I was excited to see if the sequel actually beat the first game. The answer is no, but outlast two was very damn close to raising the expectations. While the game was scary, the sequel held back the psychological horror factor unlike the first game where the developers go all out. The game did give me a lot of scares throughout, but I wasn't traumatized at all from the gameplay, like the first game. The mountain setting and the cult added some sense of dread to the game, but it wasn't as unsettling as the asylum setting and the asylum patient enemies from the first game. But still, despite its flaws, Outlast 2 is a frightening game that despite its flaws and the fear factor being held back that is an enjoyable experience when playing. When I played this game and the first one I was connected to a heart rate monitor and had either one of my siblings or my friend record my heart rate. But this game didn't make my heart beat as fast as the first game, which I had a crap ton of anxiety when playing.



Side-note for parents: like the first game, this isn't a game for kids as it contains unsettling material, graphic violence, and strong language. But between outlast and this game, this one is more for kids as outlast one will cause some psychological damage to your kids after playing it. While outlast two will just give the kids some anxiety.
