The Last Avatar

This Avatar: The Last Airbender Time Skip Ruined The Korra Anime Immediately
Image
The Legend of Korra needed to set it self apart from the original Avatar: The Last Airbender right away. While the anime succeeded in some ways, Korra broke the immersive world Avatar created in many ways. Avatar Korra being a foil to Avatar Aang was the right call, but the world itself changed too way much as a new era of the Avatar Cycle began. All of the problems in The Legend of Korra stem from the 70-year time skip between Avatar and Korra.

The biggest and most obvious disconnect in Korra centres around the Avatar universe's technology. In the decades-long time skip between The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra, the Avatar world went from a rustic, pre-industrial fantasy realm to the 1920s – and not just in the technologically advanced Fire Nation. All of the realms in Korra now featured automobiles, radio sets, and soon, even high-tech mecha suits.

Every Season Of Avatar & The Legend Of Korra, Ranked
Image
Both Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra have distinct characters and storytelling styles despite sharing a world and themes. The live-action adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender on Netflix received mixed reviews, but improved on the original story by eliminating filler. The Legend of Korra seasons excel in character development and explore darker themes, with Season 3 being considered the best by many fans.

Both Avatar: The Last Airbender and the sequel series The Legend of Korra are beloved Nickelodeon properties, but not every season is loved equally. The sequel series follows his successor 70 years later. Both shows have garnered critical and fan praise for their animation and stories. Despite taking place in the same world...

Avatar: What Happened To Azula After The Last Airbender Ended
Image
Azula's mental breakdown after the events of Avatar: The Last Airbender led her to a path of redemption. Despite her manipulative ways, Azula helped Zuko gain confidence as Fire Lord by challenging him secretly. Azula, once an antagonist, embraced her destiny and accepted her role as Zuko's advisor in the Smoke and Shadow comics.

Azula was in a pretty bad shape after the animated series Avatar: The Last Airbender ended with her in prison. The Fire Princess spent most of the series as an antagonist for both her brother Zuko and the titular Avatar, Aang. As Aang trained to embrace his abilities and restore balance to the world, Zuko turned against his father and joined Aang's efforts. Azula spent her time hunting them down for her father, wanting to become the next Fire Lord instead of her brother. When Aang defeated Ozai, that was only part of her downfall.

Her...

20 Wild Things You Didn’t Know About Avatar: The Last Airbender
Image
Avatar was initially set in the future. Zuko almost didn't make the cut for the show, but ended up becoming a fan-favorite character with a fulfilling arc. Toph was originally envisioned as a muscular man, but her small stature added to her appeal as a powerful earthbender.

There is no shortage of iconic Nickelodeon shows, but Avatar: The Last Airbender is something special, and despite its huge number of fans, there are a lot of Avatar: The Last Airbender facts those fans might not know. Aang, the titular last airbender, is also the Avatar, the person responsible for bringing balance to the Four Nations and wielding all elements they are capable of bending. In the show, there was just as much work for the creative team behind the camera as there was for Aang and his friends on screen.

The Last Airbender is often hailed as one of the “greatest cartoons of all time,...
