Joi Lansing Takes the Mic

The Web of Love (1966)

** 1/2 (out of 4)

This two-minute short from Scopitone features actress Joi Lansing (TOUCH OF EVIL, BIGFOOT) singing Trapped in the Web of Love. That's pretty much the only plot that you're going to find here but I think fans of Lansing will enjoy the short still. The production design is somewhat memorable as the short start off we see some showgirls and then cut over to Lansing who appears to be nude but standing behind a large heart to where you don't actually see anything. From here we see other designs like her sitting in a black kettle of hot water and other images fitting the lyrics of the song. There's certainly nothing ground-breaking here but fans of Lansing should enjoy this and her singing really wasn't too bad either as this here would have made for a great opening to a James Bond film.
