Judge Atmacharan, who presided over the Mahatma Gandhi murder case stated that both Bombay and Delhi police had sufficient information to thwart the attempt to murder Gandhi, and in that their inaction was primarily responsible for the murder of The Mahatma, or 'the great soul' as Mister Gandhi was called.
