Typical made for TV schlock

You may want to avoid wasting an hour and a half of your life and watch something else. Or enjoy a hobby or something. Almost anything.

While this is somewhat better than typical SyFy movies, it is definitely a rainy Saturday with nothing else to do type film. You can watch this while doing your homework and never skip a beat.

Let's start out with the main synopsis here on IMDb: it's not for this movie. Completely different plot. Whoever filed this film took that. much. care.

A few minutes into the film we find ourselves watching a live reporter commenting- twice no less- "You can see the extensive devastation behind me..." There is no devastation behind her-- just a local diner without a scratch. She follows up with, "As you can see, people are being rushed to the hospital in ambulances." There is one ambulance sitting idly while a woman's blood pressure being slowly taken as she sits peacefully on a gurney.

That sets the logic-stage for the rest of this film. There is plenty of action, several mediocre special effects, the typically goofy and totally-pointless "plot", and highly-predictable ending. This would be a funny movie except that it isn't. The single exception and redeeming factor of the film is the acting by Steve Hanks as the Colonel. Avoiding spoilers regarding his character, Hanks pulls it off with great "don't take yourself too seriously" aplomb. His climactic drama scene is worth making some popcorn. High point of the movie for me. Beyond that none of the actors are either good or truly bad; they just don't have much to work with. Given different roles they might do a lot better.

Other than that, the lead actress is "Sandra Bullock" cute/pretty, the stunt people take sufficiently impressive flips and tumbles, and the script isn't awful. It's just... SyFy. What can ya say?

Five minutes. That's all you need.

You only need five minutes to change to another movie. Anyone. Or turn off your TV/computer/tablet/cell phone. It's better than see this movie.

The Make-up has Precedence

They should have spent less on false eyelashes and more on decent writers. I suppose it keeps people in work, available for better things in the future.

Y Movie

Was für ein billig Schrott, gequirlte Scheiße. Amateur Schauspielerei und Schauspieler von der Straße. Totale Zeitverschwendung. Ab in die Tonne.

Blows alright

The single and only redeeming quality of this truly insulting poor excuse for a so-called movie is the production design. The occasional special effects is pleasing to the eye. The rest? Flush it down with the crap it belongs with. What gets me is the insult of making such a rip-off of concepts and story, and less than amateur acting, and passing it off on the public like we don't see right through it. Who is this made for? Drugged teens similar to the writers and producers responsible? Just insulting.

Women are different

Usual ill-conceived rubbish. The most ludicrous thing was the suited and booted military types complete with helmets...except, for some reason, the blond WOMAN! Why??

Z Movie

So bad it's funny. Such bad wannabe actors and actresses. (Oops, is it OK to call female actors "actresses"? I'm old school).

Here's a laugh: I only came here because it was so bad and, before I saw the rating, I said "I bet this is a 3". Ha, ha. and it was.

Excuse me while I change channel. Ah, that's better - snooker is on.

Now, where was I? Oh yes, this pile of nonsense. Just don't bother with it.

Oh dear

This is pretty sad. A 10 year old with a handycam could do better. Indie films don't have to be bad. The camera work and acting can still be decent and sell the story. Maybe don't try for the big effects on a low budget.

VFX too big for their britches

Let's start out by saying that I only started watching this because the synopsis Prime had for it was cool, but within a few minutes it was obvious the synopsis was wrong. I only finished the movie because I wanted to see how bad it would get.

The VFX were about the level I'd expect to see in a final project student film. Avoiding spoilers, essentially the VFX stood out like a sore thumb and screamed of someone having lied on their resume about their skill in whatever budget after effects software the film used. About the only thing I can compliment is the lightning VFX - I think they knew this by the amount of overuse in the film.

The actors didn't have a lot to work with from the start, script was weak, full of holes and useless information, and illogical, which resulted in subpar performances. There was a ton of main character's privilege going on.

The budget was clearly razor thin on this project, the costume department flexed their creativity when they decided to dress the military in what looks like dirt biking body armour.
