Exclusive: Steven Fisher has been upped to partner at Trevor Engelson’s Beverly Hills-based management/production company Underground.

Fisher has been with Underground for five years. Prior to his post at Underground, he was an agent at both UTA and ICM. His client roster includes Alex Karpovsky, Michael Zegen (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel), Desi Lydic (The Daily Show), Jessie Ennis (Mythic Quest), Instagram’s Celeste Barber, Leon Neyfakh (the creator of the podcasts Slow Burn and Fiasco) and Melinda Taub (Executive Producer and Head Writer for Full Frontal With Samantha Bee). The song, which also carries influences of reggae hip-hop and even gives a shoutout to Jennifer Lopez (“Y que soy del blocke también como Jenny”), arrives with an animated lyric video that shows the Major Lazer character reaching spiritual enlightenment, a common theme in recent Ml releases.

In a new interview with Billboard, the singer-songwriter revealed that he actually forgot that “Cold Water” was one of his songs until it became a hit. The tune was apparently drafted with producer Benny Blanco at a time when the two were cranking out tons of new material, and by the time Diplo reached out to Sheeran about producing “Cold Water,” the vocalist had already forgotten that it existed.

Back in September, Major Lazer and Showtek teamed up to deliver “Believers,” a hard hitting collaboration that struck a balance between trap and dancehall. The two musical forces have joined up again this week to offer up an official music video for the tune, which takes a stance on the current state of affairs in Syria.

The concept for the “Believers” video draws inspiration from the Syrian conflict, specifically the infamous image of Omran Daqneesh, which depicted the young boy covered in ash and rubble after he survived an air strike attack. Earlier in the month, Diplo revealed that his dancehall trio Major Lazer would be releasing an Indian version of their latest hit “Cold Water” with Justin Bieber. The new version of the familiar tune was released in conjunction with Diwali, or the festival of lights, an annual Indian tradition that celebrates the triumph of good over evil. Now that the celebration is complete, the new rendition of “Cold Water” has hit the internet for streaming.

The Diwali rework of “Cold Water” sounds about how you’d expect, as Major Lazer fill the backdrop behind Justin Bieber’s vocal hooks with traditional Indian instrumentation. The remix opens with a stunning string section and Bieber’s voice, soon joined by tabla percussion and exotic flute sounds that bring an Eastern edge to the tune.

Earlier in the summer, Dutch DJ duo Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike began teasing a then unreleased collaboration with none other than Diplo, testing the ID out during a performance. Now, the result of their studio time together is finally here as “Hey Baby” with Deb’s Daughter drops on Diplo’s Mad Decent imprint.

“Hey Baby” earns its own share of comparison to Major Lazer’s massive single “Lean On,” kicking off with a tropical meets pop production complete with offbeat synth plucks and slowed down four on the floor beats. The verses features some heavily auto-tuned topline hooks courtesy of Deb’s Daughter, before successive snare hits push the song forward into the drops. Unsurprisingly, we’re treated to twisted vocal chops layered over steel drum melodies and uplifting rhythms.

Despite being well produced, “Hey Baby” is a bit of a mixed effort. Diplo definitely takes the lead here,...

Diplo took to Twitter yesterday to announce that “Cold Water” will be receiving an Indian rework in the near future. This new version of the hit single will feature Indian singer and composer Anirudh Ravichander, who has been rumored to have had a hand in the creation of the original song. It will be released to help celebrate Diwali or the festival of lights, an annual festival that symbolizes the triumph of good over evil.

Justin Bieber has revealed that he’ll be taking his Purpose tour down under while bringing along a special musical guest. None other than Martin Garrix will join the singer on his first ever run of stadium shows in Australia, and his first set of dates there since 2013. Garrix will hit the road with Bieber in March and join him at every stop along the way as the two musicians hit some of the biggest cities in the country.

News of the collaborative tour doesn’t come as a major surprise considering that both Justin Bieber and Martin Garrix are managed by Scooter Braun, and only furthers the pop star’s continued flirtations with the dance music community. MTV announced that it will premiere the new one-hour documentary “Prescription For Change: Ending America’s Opioid Crisis,” which tackles America’s opioid addiction epidemic, on October 11th. A new Snapchat story from the Major Lazer frontman proves that his immersion into mainstream pop shows no signs of slowing down either, as he teases at an upcoming collaboration with singer Ariana Grande.

The Snapchat story runs for only a few seconds, showing Grande at the microphone busting out some chops. It then cuts forward to show her and Diplo reviewing the progress of their collaboration, giving us a very brief sample of what they have cooking.
