I Love It

I love this series so much and I have to suggest it to anyone who has interest in music history. I really enjoy watching him explain the history of artists like Semisonic. (which I see as the best artist he's reviewed) I also liked finding new songs for my friend and I to make fun of and I'm always excited for new episodes. I just hope he'll cover more pop rock, there's a lot of material there.

Great!

it is interesting and funny, if you are into music history you should check it out, some episodes show you so much about music from other decades, you learn about these artists that sometimes have really interesting stories, one thing I love is that sometimes I find new music that I love in some episodes, I found Never my Love and Space Age Love Song in some episodes and now I listen to these songs all the time, 10/10

Another Great Series From Todd in the Shadows

Hello there Today I'm talking about One Hit Wonderland a Series that debuted in April 2012 by Todd in the Shadows. The Series is about Todd Nathanson looking at an Artist's biggest Hit & there other singles. My Favorites Episodes of One Hit Wonderland are when he looked at Living in a Box's Hit song of the same name & The Calling's "Wherever You Will Go". I'm a Huge fan of this series just like Todd's Pop Song Reviews I Highly recommend this series to anyone who like music & One Hit Wonders. 10/10

A great idea for a youtube series

Todd Nathanson AKA "Todd In the Shadows" examines in details pop songs going all of the way back into the 1960s. I haven't found any songs that he has reviewed in this series made before American rock transitioned to a completely new style after the Beatles began to record songs that became hits in the United States, probably because even hit songs from before that period sound foreign, so it might be that Americans can't see much difference between a song from a hit group and one from a one hit wonder.

One Hit Wonder divides into exploring the following issues:

The origin of the artist

The hit

Did they have any other hit songs?

Anything else of note?

Did the artist deserve better?

Todd doesn't categorize very recent songs as one hit wonders, since time is needed to establish perspective.

I'd recommend this to people who remember these songs and would like to know "Where are they now?" as well as to people who are just interested in musical history of the last 50 years.

Same Problems As Other Channel ''Awesome'' Critics

Saying to somebody ''you suck!'' in an episode just because they were suprised that a song was going to make it in isn't normal but apparently in so-called Channel Awesome going at somebody because they made the slightest criticism of you is; Channel Awful; not even once. In true internet nerd (and clearly I am one myself) fashion they'd be the first to dish out criticism and the last to take any. I get that things were going badly behind the scenes at CA but that wasn't the viewers' fault so taking it out on us isn't acceptable. A product of its time, a sign of what a disaster the 2010s were in a number of ways. Alas the 2020s are even worse.
