There’s a new Looney Tunes movie in theaters right now, yet Bugs Bunny — by far the biggest star of the franchise — is nowhere to be found. The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie, is the story of Daffy Duck and Porky Pig thwarting an alien invasion. And apart from Petunia Pig, no other recognizable Looney Tunes characters appear in it. It’s a bold choice, but also an exciting one: the 90-minute film allows for a fully-developed story to take place between the duo — one that feels like a natural progression of their comedic partnership that began 88 years ago.
Introduced in 1935, Porky Pig quickly became Warner Bros.’ first star cartoon character. This was likely because he was their first lead that wasn’t a direct Mickey Mouse ripoff. So Porky went on to star in all kinds of shorts in the mid-1930s, including Tex Avery’s Porky’s Duck Hunt,...

If you want to scratch that Looney Tunes itch after it was reported that the show is no longer streaming on Max, then you're in luck. Two Looney Tunes TV shows have found a new streaming home on Tubi. They will be available on the streaming platform immediately in April, giving fans more opportunities to watch these iconic cartoon characters. The two shows that will be released on Tubi are 2011's The Looney Tunes Show, and 1995's The Sylvester & Tweety Mysteries. The Looney Tunes show was previously available on Max but was pulled along with other animated shows during the first week of 2025. Meanwhile, The Sylvester & Tweety Mysteries was pulled off the Warner Bros. Discovery-owned platform in 2021, along with other titles like New Looney Tunes.

The original “Looney Tunes” has been removed from the streaming platform Max.
Since March 16, the “Looney Tunes” cartoon shorts series (1930-1969) has been pulled by the Warner Bros. Discovery streamer. The iconic Warner Bros. cartoon franchise has already been chipped away at by conglomerate Warner Bros. Discovery after the corporate merger: “Looney Tunes” live-action hybrid film “Coyote vs. Acme” was scrapped by Wbd in 2023 before the film was set to start streaming on Max, taking a $30 million tax write-off instead. Wbd later announced that it had no plans to ever release the $70 million movie, and instead, the film was made available to be sold to another interested studio. The film was not picked up elsewhere. Wbd’s decision followed the similarly scrapped films “Batgirl” and animated feature “Scoob! Holiday Haunt.”

The original Looney Tunes animated shorts, a foundation of Warner Bros.’ legacy, have been removed from the Max streaming platform. Warner Bros. Discovery confirmed the decision, indicating a change in the company’s digital content approach.
The removal alters Max’s library, which previously featured classic cartoons spanning from 1930 to 1969. The company is shifting toward content aimed at adult and family audiences, reducing its focus on children’s programming. Similar actions include the removal of Sesame Street episodes and the shutdown of Cartoon Network’s website.
While the original shorts are no longer available, several later iterations of the franchise remain accessible. Titles still streaming on Max include Looney Tunes Cartoons (2020), New Looney Tunes (2015), Baby Looney Tunes (2002), Bugs Bunny Builders (2022), Tiny Toons Looniversity (2023), and The Sylvester & Tweety Mysteries (1995). Fans looking for the classic shorts will now need to seek alternative viewing options.

It's a rough time to be a Looney Tunesfan. The classic episodes of the original cartoon show are now harder to stream than ever after losing their streaming home.
Per Toon Hive, the remaining 255 episodes of the original Looney Tunes have been removed from Max. The news follows the franchise recently returning to the big screen for The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie, which has drawn veyr high praise from critics. However, Looney Tunes fans had already been frustrated with Warner Bros. Discovery after another animated film, Coyote vs. Acme, was canceled from its release, possibly never to see the light of day.
The company also previously pulled over 250 Looney Tunes shorts. With the original cartoon show also vaulted, the only franchise titles left that are currently available to stream on Max include New Looney Tunes, Baby Looney Tunes, Bugs Bunny Builders, and the recent Looney Tunes Cartoon series.

That’s all folks.
The original Looney Tunes animated shorts, which ran during the golden age of animation from 1930 through 1969, have been scrubbed by Warner Bros. Discovery-owned Max.
Deadline confirmed with a representative that the original shorts are no longer on Max. This is part of a new plan whereby the streamer will prioritize adult and family programming. Children’s programming, such as Looney Tunes and Sesame Street before it, doesn’t fare as well and is no longer viewed as a priority.
Other spinoff versions of Looney Tunes remain on the service, including six seasons of 2020’s Looney Tunes Cartoons, two seasons of 2015’s New Looney Tunes (the third season and some episodes from Season 1 are not available), two seasons of 2002’s Baby Looney Tunes, 2021’s four-episode scripted podcast Looney Tunes Presents: Bugs and Daffy’s Thanksgiving Road Trip, two seasons of 2023’s Tiny Toons Looniversity and its...

First released in 1992, Boomerang allowed audiences to watch reruns of their favorite cartoons as well as a few Cartoon Network originals. As such, it's responsible for keeping classic animation studios like Hanna-Barbera alive and kicking well into the 21st century. By 2015, Boomerang was seen as second to Cartoon Network and began branching out into its own collection of original shows.
While some of these shows are not as popular as their Cartoon Network counterparts, they allowed certain cartoons to gain a new lease on life. So, whether it was a spin-off of an older show or a modernized upgrade, Boomerang ensured that the golden age of cartoons didn't fade into obscurity. Since fans have such a deep connection with these shows, it comes as no surprise that audiences are keen to rewatch them.

According to a recent leak, MultiVersus had plans to add Daffy Duck and continue for a few more seasons. While fans initially welcomed the idea of incorporating Warner properties’ characters into Super Smash Bros.-style matches, the game shocked players by going offline in June 2023 and expected to return in May 2024.

Second only to Mel Blanc himself, voice actor Jeff Bergman has voiced the most Looney Tunes characters over the longest stretch of time. He “officially” got the gig — the reason for those quotes will become clear below — in 1989 when Bugs, Daffy and the rest became teachers on Tiny Toon Adventures. He’s continued on through dozens of other projects like 1990’s Cartoon All-Stars to the Rescue, 2011’s The Looney Tunes Show, 2015’s New Looney Tunes and last year’s Tiny Toons Looniversity reboot.
While he’s not the only person who’s voiced these characters since Blanc’s passing, he’s been among the most consistent. Which, of course, has steeped him in all sorts of Looney Tunes lore, as well as allowed him to make some of his own. Lore such as…

X-Men '97 serves as a continuation of the original animated series from the 1990s, though one character comes with a change for the new show.
In a new issue of Empire magazine showcasing X-Men '97, brief character profiles are given for several of the returning characters from X-Men: The Animated Series. With the shapeshifter Morph, it was revealed that X-Men '97 will feature a "lighter take on the character, who is nonbinary and has an interesting buddy relationship with Wolverine." Establishing Morph as nonbinary is a key change for the character, who had never been identified as nonbinary in the original show or any of the comic books. It's also teased that Morph's past with Mister Sinister will "come into play" in some way in X-Men '97.

Two animated legends go toe-to-toe in an exclusive Looney Tunes Cartoons clip. Developed by Uncle Grandpa creator Peter Browngardt, the HBO Max series brings back the full roster of iconic cartoon characters to the screen for more goofy adventures, namely Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck, among others. With four successful seasons under its belt, Looney Tunes Cartoons is currently gearing up for its season 5 release.
Ahead of its return this week, Screen Rant is pleased to present an exclusive Looney Tunes Cartoons clip. The video comes from the short "Bulls-eye Bunny," in which Bugs Bunny is tasked with assisting Yosemite Sam in a knife-throwing show. Space Jam: A New Legacy was plagued with various controversies during its production, and now the movie has come under backlash once again following its release. Dave Alvarez, an artist and animator who worked as a character designer on the sequel, had sat down with his family to watch the movie as soon as it came out. Rather, “Rock the Rock” made its premiere on an episode of “New Looney Tunes” with a backup band led by Bugs Bunny and Porky Pig. Watch and listen below if you don’t want 2008’s long-delayed “Chinese Democracy” to be the last time you hear Rose’s vocal stylings.
Rob Janas and Joshua Funk of “Looney Tunes” wrote the track, which clocks in at just over two minutes and was first heard on last month’s “Armageddon Outta Here, Part Two.” Per the title, its rock-and-roll power is used by Axl and his band to stave off an asteroid hurtling toward earth; clearly these “New Looney Tunes” have a near-utopian view of music’s ability to bind us together and, indeed, save the world.

Following weeks of speculation, Axl Rose has officially released “Rock the Rock,” his first new song in over a decade. The song, and Rose himself in cartoon form, appear in an episode of New Looney Tunes.
The episode, titled “Armageddon Outta Here, Part Two,” previously broadcasted in late-December, but Boomerang, the network that airs the animated series, confirmed the Guns N’ Roses singer’s involvement Friday.

The spotlight shines on far more than the core trio of iconic stars of Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders. With the likes of primetime television veterans Steven Weber and Thomas Lennon leading the way, the full-length animated feature film boasts a supporting cast of notable voices from across all entertainment mediums and some of the best-loved animated properties.
Adam West (Batman), Burt Ward (Robin) and Julie Newmar (Catwoman) own top billing, but Weber (Wings, iZombie, NCIS: New Orleans) and Lennon (The Odd Couple, Reno 911!) – as trustworthy butler Alfred Pennyworth and Chief O’Hara, respectively – headline an impressive array of actors who were excited to give voice to a role in a Batman film.
In addition to Weber and Lennon, the cast includes:
Jeff Bergman as the Joker and the revered Announcer. Bergman is well known as a voice of Bugs Bunny for more than a quarter of a century...
