Oscar-nominated Thomas Haden Church has joined the Season 2 cast of Shane Gillis’ Netflix comedy series Tires.
Co-created, written and executive produced by Gillis, Tires follows Will (Steven Gerben), the nervous and unqualified heir to an auto repair chain, attempts to turn his father’s business around despite constant torture from his cousin and now employee, Shane (Gillis).
In Season 2, after the unexpected success of their big marketing idea, Will and Shane rush to grow personally and professionally without fully realizing the cost of doing business.
Church will play Phil, Shane’s wealthy but immature father. A grown-up version of Shane, Phil enjoys owning various businesses in Florida where he resides, throwing back margaritas and flirting with waitresses.
In addition to Gillis and Gerben, cast also includes Chris O’Connor, Kilah Fox and Stavros Halkias.
Ahead of its series premiere in May, Tires was renewed for a second season, which is slated to debut next year.

Over the years, we’ve witnessed Epic Games regularly unvault weapons and special items in Fortnite to keep the game’s meta fresh and fun. The popular battle royale features a range of weapons and mobility items that can help you get out of sketchy situations in an instant.
One of the most popular mobility options in the game is the Crash Pad Jr! This particular item provides a safe landing spot and a bounce that can help you reach new heights. It has finally made its return to the current Fortnite season and is a perfect pick if you’re playing Zero Builds!

We might be entering the dog days of summer but Hulu isn’t slowing down. The streamer’s list of new releases for August 2023 is a pretty impressive collection of content.
The biggest Hulu original this month is season 3 of true crime comedy Only Murders in the Building on Aug. 8. This time around Meryl Streep and Paul Rudd are joining the already-stacked cast that features Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez. This season’s central murder appears to take place at a theater (outside the building) but I think we’ll let it slide.
That’s far from the only worthwhile original in August as Aug. 2 sees the premiere of the third and final season of superb comedy Reservation Dogs. That will be followed by South Korean sci-fi series Moving on Aug. 9, Solar Opposites season 4 on Aug. 14, and A Murder at the End of the World on Aug. 29. Of course,...

Oscar nominee Thomas Haden Church is set as a lead alongside Anthony Mackie and Stephanie Beatriz in Twisted Metal, Peacock’s comedic half-hour live-action adaptation of the popular video game.
Based on the classic PlayStation game series, Twisted Metal is a high-octane action comedy, based on an original take by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick about a motor-mouthed outsider offered a chance at a better life, but only if he can successfully deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland. With the help of a trigger-happy car thief, he’ll face savage marauders driving vehicles of destruction and other dangers of the open road, including a deranged clown who drives an all too familiar ice cream truck.
Church will play Agent Stone, a cold and unyielding post-apocalyptic highway patrolman who rules the roads with a silver tongue and a twisted iron fist, prosecuting even the smallest crimes with the harshest of judgements.

Dead To Me actress Christina Applegate has revealed to her Twitter followers that she has been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. The Emmy winner, who has appeared in many movies and TV shows since the 1980s made the announcement via a tweet earlier today, revealing that she was diagnosed with the potentially crippling disease a few months ago, and followed up with a second post which ended with a request for privacy.
Hi friends. A few months ago I was diagnosed with Ms. It’s been a strange journey. But I have been so supported by people that I know who also have this condition. It’s been a tough road. But as we all know, the road keeps going. Unless some asshole blocks it.

Thomas Haden Church is set as the lead and will executive produce The Texanist, a multi-camera comedy inspired by David Courtney’s Texas Monthly column in development at Fox. Church, who lives on his ranch in the Lone Star state, will have plenty of personal experience to draw on for the role.
Written by Cheers alum Rob Long, The Texanist centers on Dave, played by Church, an opinionated Austin-area radio show host who calls ‘em like he sees ‘em, dispensing advice to Texas natives and newcomers alike on what he knows to be the true Texas Way of life. But the Texas Way is changing, and now Dave’s job is becoming much more complicated. Listening to advice from his wife, family and co-workers, Dave must now become the arbiter of which changes to embrace and which to reject, possibly opening his mind in the process… just, not that much.

Odd-couple roommate pairings have been fodder for guffaws since, well, “The Odd Couple.” It’s become a tired and usually mirthless conceit. So you’d be forgiven for guessing that “Crash Pad,” whose story hinges on the concept, is yet another lazy, cable-unworthy comedy full of sorry slapstick and barn-broad humor. And you’ll be surprised to discover that it’s actually smartly written and expertly pulled off. Domhnall Gleeson, Christina Applegate and Thomas Haden Church lead the cast in director Kevin Tent’s first non-action film — Tent is also executive producer Alexander Payne’s go-to editor — penned by a similarly inexperienced scripter,...

Domhnall Gleeson is spending the fall season showing off his dramatic chops, appearing in Darren Aronofsky’s “mother!,” Tom Cruise’s action movie “American Made,” leading the biopic “Goodbye Christopher Robin,” and of course, getting ready for the blockbuster, “Star Wars: The Last Jedi.” However, the actor is eager to show off his comic side and he does just that in the upcoming “Crash Pad.”
Co-starring Thomas Haden Church, Christina Applegate, and Nina Dobrev, the film follows a young man whose one night stand with a married woman, not only turns romantic, but takes a further twist when he befriends the wronged husband.

After New Line Cinema's It remake helped save the box office after the worst summer season in 15 years, box office pundits saw the box office slip into another slump this month, with three straight weekends of underperforming top movies such as Blade Runner 2049 ($32.7 million), Happy Death Day ($26.5 million) and last weekend's winner Boo 2! A Madea Halloween ($21.6 million). This dreadful month closes out with the return of a box office killer, Jigsaw, who hopes to breathe new life into the sagging box office this weekend, along with two more newcomers, Paramount's dark comedy Suburbicon and Universal's drama Thank You For Your Service. While it likely won't be another massive weekend, we're predicting that Jigsaw will end up on top with a projected $23.6 million.

Domnhall Gleeson gets an unexpected lesson in drinking from Thomas Haden Church in The Hollywood Reporter's exclusive clip of Crash Pad.
In the comedy, the Star Wars actor plays a hopeless romantic who thinks he's found true love, only to learn that the woman he's seeing is actually married. Even more so, the fling is merely an instrument of revenge against her neglectful husband (Church), who then opts to get back at his wife by moving in with her lover and adopting the romantic’s slacker lifestyle.

A rom-com built on wounded male pride and enough booze to float a ship, Kevin Tent's Crash Pad makes BFFs of a romantic dweeb and the alpha male he has inadvertently cuckolded. The kind of high-concept (and sharply written) showcase for bad behavior that a big studio might have made with, say, Thomas Middleditch and Vince Vaughn, it has somehow wound up in the care of indie distrib Vertical Entertainment, sneaking into theaters later this month after a quiet festival debut. The lack of buzz is unfortunate for a crowd-pleaser with plenty of mainstream appeal. On the plus side, this...

Morgan (Christina Applegate) is drowning in a marriage on the rocks. Both her career and her husband’s (Thomas Haden Church’s Grady) are booming — the time allotted to spend together often earmarked for something else. So they’ve drifted apart over the last fifteen years. Their sex life is non-existent and he’s away on business trips that “run long” more often than not. Why wouldn’t she assume he was therefore cheating on her? No reason besides a level of trust that appears non-existent in a day and age where the worst is usually believed and proven true. And since he’s always been a “man’s man” brute with toxic edges she’s sought to smooth out, why not embark on some cheating herself with the embodiment of everything he isn’t?

"I sleep with the one guy who's pissed off that his one-night stand isn't just a one-night stand."
A great red-band trailer has been released for a new comedy called Crash Pad. The film has a fantastic cast that includes Domhnall Gleeson, Christina Applegate, and Thomas Haden Church. This actually looks like it could be a damn funny flick. Here's the synopsis:

He threatens to blackmail her by telling her husband, but his plan backfires when the husband decides the best way to get back at his wife is to move in and adopt the romantic's slacker lifestyle.

"Oh this is so twisted." Vertical Entertainment has debuted the first red band trailer for a romantic dramedy titled Crash Pad, about a "hopeless romantic" slacker who falls for an older woman. Domhnall Gleeson stars as Stensland, with the main cast including Christina Applegate, Nina Dobrev, Thomas Haden Church, Anna Van Hooft, and Anja Savcic. The twist in the plot (which is mentioned in the synopsis so not really a spoiler) is that he discovers the woman is actually only with him to get revenge on her husband. But when he tries to blackmail her by saying he'll tell her husband, the plan backfires and the husband moves in with him, taking on his lifestyle. Ugh. This seems like one of those super pretentious "you need to learn a lesson, young boy!" kind of films. I'm usually a fan of Domhnall, but he just seems too cheesy to me. Here's...

Hollywood is filled with great scripts that are forever stuck in development hell, struggling to find the right of talent and people willing to take a risk to make it happen. And then there are movies like “Crash Pad,” which somehow get made without any problems, even though they feel like a low-grade rehash of about a half dozen movies you’ve seen before. Oh wait, maybe that’s exactly why they get made.

Domhnall Gleeson, Christina Applegate, Thomas Haden Church and Nina Dobrev are set to star in Kevin Tent's romantic comedy "Crash Pad" for Wonderful Films, Indomitable Entertainment, and Windowseat Entertainment.
Gleeson plays a hopeless romantic who thinks he's found true love with an older woman (Applegate), only to learn that she's married and that his fling is merely an instrument of revenge against her neglectful husband (Church).
He threatens to blackmail her by telling her husband, but the plan backfires when the husband decides the best way to get back at his wife is to move in with Gleeson's character and adopt the slacker's life of debauchery.
Tent, the Oscar-nominated editor of "The Descendants" and "Nebraska," is making his directorial debut with a Black List script by Jeremy Catalino. Filming just began in Vancouver.

He’ll be seen being a nasty sort in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, but Domhnall Gleeson is sticking to his more usual good-natured hopeless romantic for a new comedy, Crash Pad. Christina Applegate, Thomas Haden Church and Nina Dobrev are all joining him in the film, which Kevin Tent – an Oscar-nominated editor who has worked with Alexander Payne – has started shooting in Vancouver as his directorial debut.Gleeson stars as a man who thinks he’s struck the jackpot of true love with an older woman (Applegate). Until, that is he learns that she’s just using him to get romantic revenge on her neglectful husband (Church). Our hero threatens to blackmail his paramour by telling her hubby all about their affair, only for the man to decide he’s going to get back at his wife by moving in with Gleeson and returning to his bachelor ways.
