Christopher Nolan thinks one of his biggest movies didn’t get the love it deserved. He recently talked about The Dark Knight Rises and called it an underrated film in his career. In his own words, “I don’t have a favorite of any of my films, but I think The Dark Knight Rises is an underrated movie. There are things in there that we did that are pretty subversive and pretty shocking. It’s as close as I’ll get to adapting A Tale of Two Cities.” Nolan believes there’s more going on in the movie than people usually talk about, and he sees it as more meaningful than most viewers give it credit for.

The Dark Knight Rises came out in 2012 and closed out Nolan’s Batman trilogy. The story takes place eight years after The Dark Knight. Bruce Wayne has disappeared from the public and given up being Batman.

Óscar Casas (“Mi soledad tiene alas”) is the man on the lightning-fast bike in the MotoGP action film “Idols.” The up-and-coming Spanish actor will star in the film for Film Mode Entertainment, 4 Cats Pictures and Warner Bros. alongside multi-platinum pop star Ana Mena.

Written by Inma Cánovas, Jordi Gasull and Ricky Roxburgh from an original idea by Gasull, “Idols” follows a fiery young motorcycle racer (Casas) who loses his chance at the junior championship after a reckless crash. But he finds a shot at redemption when he receives a surprise offer from a top Moto2 team.

Just imagine it, three of WWE’s trending stars moving beyond the WWE ring and into a parallel universe where they are ready to take on Batman at Gotham City street. Seth Rollins, Paul Heyman, and Bron Breakker all of them have an uncanny resemblance to the Joker, the Penguin, and Bane and fans can’t stop talking about it. Ever since they partnered together at WrestleMania 41, WWE’s “Trifecta of Terror” has created chaos on Raw, and their personas and antics echo those of Batman’s rogues gallery.

Rollins has shown the same penchant for wild unpredictability as the Joker, Heyman’s clever scheming mastermind style shows similarities to the Penguin, and Bron Breakker’s raw power and intimidation factor as Bane can not be ignored. We will detail how these three WWE stars channel Batman’s rogues gallery through their antics in the ring.

Exclusive: Following a brief spell on the sidelines after surgery, Lock Stock and Harry Potter actor Nick Moran is already back in the saddle and has joined the cast of Brit espionage thriller Knightfall, alongside Ian Ogilvy, Jeanine Nerissa Sothcott, Michael Paré and Roger Moore’s son Geoffrey Moore. Directed by Ben Mole, the film follows an infamous former spy catcher who must work with his estranged daughter to avert a homeland security bloodbath and survive a terrifying home invasion. Producer Jonathan Sothcott of Shogun Films commented: “It was great to work with Nick again; he’s a superb actor and this is his third movie for us. It's been far too long since the most recent season of House of the Dragon concluded on HBO, and the wait for new episodes rages on and on, but at least we're continuing to receive news about what's to come in season 3. As filming continues on the highly anticipated third season, we just learned about three new cast members who have been cast in some key roles.

Revenge alum Barry Sloane joins the cast as Ser Adrian Redfort, who is one of the members of Rhaenyra Targaryen's Queensguard. Sloane has also appeared in shows like Hollyoaks, Longmire, Shameless, Six, and he will also appear in the upcoming second and final of The Sandman on Netflix. But as a Revenge fan, I know him best as Emily Thorne's former flame Aiden Mathis.

House of the Dragon season 3 also adds Tom Cullen as Ser Luthor Largent, who's a commander for the City Watch of King's Landing.

Filming on the third season of HBO's Game of Thrones prequel show House of the Dragon has been up and running for a minute, and we're still getting new information on cast members, both newbies joining the production and old favorites spending time together away from the set.

Batman has had an endless number of iconic comic storylines over his 85-year crime-fighting career. Whether it be classics like The Killing Joke and The Dark Knight Returns or more modern gems like The Court of Owls and The White Knight, every DC fan has their favorite. However, when it comes to origin stories for The Caped Crusader, none are as popular as Batman: Year One. The series by writer Frank Miller and artist David Mazzucchelli has some of the most memorable moments in the character’s history. Now McFarlane Toys is honoring Year One with new moody action figures.

A part of McFarlane's seven-inch scale DC Multiverse line, there are two new Gold Label figures based on Year One. This would be Batman and Lieutenant James Gordon in their more youthful designs. The figures will go up for pre-order exclusively at Walmart later this month on April 16th.

Jason Statham and Sylvester Stallone have collaborated on multiple projects over the years, and we’re not just talking about the four Expendables movies they made together. Stallone also wrote the screenplay for the 2013 Statham action film Homefront, which was directed by Gary Fleder and based on a novel by Chuck Logan. Now, Statham and Stallone are continuing their working relationship with the action thriller A Working Man, which also reunites Statham with his The Beekeeper director David Ayer – and looks to be very much along the same lines as that film. Netflix’s “The Witcher” puts its spin on “The Little Mermaid” in “The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep.” Set during the events of Season 1, the new animated film adapts from Andrzej Sapkowski’s short story “A Little Sacrifice” (which was itself inspired by the classic fairytale).

The film follows Geralt and Jaskier to a seaside town to investigate attacks, only to wind up in the middle of a long-brewing conflict between the humans and merpeople before it turns into all-out war. It’s 2025, and the second season of Netflix’s hit show Wednesday is on its way! Filming wrapped up in Ireland recently, and the show is set to return later this year. While we already know quite a bit about the upcoming season, there are some new cast members to look out for, as has been revealed officially.

DC's latest 2024 release just pulled off the one element of The Dark Knight trilogy that the story seemed to struggle most with, and I certainly wasn't expecting it over a decade after the series ended. The Dark Knight movie trilogy is deservedly regarded as one of the best film series of all time, and this reputation has naturally placed it on a high pedestal. Unfortunately, with high regard also comes high expectations, and many criticisms of the series reflect the incredibly high standards it set for itself as a result of its quality.

As someone whose experience watching The Dark Knight trilogy helped create a lifelong obsession with superhero movies, it's hard to say any part of it is bad. However, some parts are stronger than others, and the fact the best moments from The Dark Knight trilogy are so astronomically good means that less strong moments can come off worse than they might elsewhere.

‘Absolute Batman’ is a DC Comics series written by Scott Snyder and illustrated by Nick Dragotta. It started on October 9, 2024, as part of DC’s new Absolute Universe.

The story follows 24-year-old Bruce Wayne, a civil engineer by day who becomes the vigilante Batman at night. Meanwhile, he’s secretly being watched by agent Alfred Pennyworth.

The series is radically different as it reimagines classic Batman characters with fresh twists. In this version, Catwoman, Riddler, Two-Face, Penguin, and Killer Croc grew up alongside Bruce Wayne, sharing a near-family bond.

A new take on the Joker has also debuted, along with revamped versions of Alfred and Jim Gordon. Writer Scott Snyder teased even more surprises, hinting that fan-favorite characters will soon appear in the story.

With DC Studios setting out to create a single shared Dcu (with a handful of "Elseworlds" projects like The Batman franchise), it's unclear what that means for Warner Bros. Animation's direct-to-dvd DC offerings.

During its seven-year run, Once Upon a Time featured a collection of multiple different fairytale and Disney characters, ranging from Snow White and Cinderella, to the Frozen characters Anna and Elsa. This Thursday afternoon at New York Comic Con, HBO announced that Dune: Prophecy — its TV series (greatly) pre-dating the film franchise — will premiere Sunday, Nov. 17 at 9/8c.

A full trailer was also released, seen above, that better lays out the conflicts brewing for the fabled sisterhood that will become known as the Bene Gesserit.

The Dune saga continues in the newly released trailer for the upcoming HBO series, Dune: Prophecy. Inspired by the seminal works of acclaimed author Frank Herbert, the series will take audiences back in time, 10,000 years to be exact, exploring the events long before the ascension of Paul Atreides. The series follows two Harkonnen sisters as they combat forces that threaten the future of humankind and establish the fabled sect that will become known as the Bene Gesserit.

DC Studios has tapped screenwriter Matthew Orton (“Captain America: Brave New World”) to write a feature film that will involve Batman villains Bane and Deathstroke, Variety has confirmed. The project is still in its infancy: There are no stars or director attached, and DC Studios chiefs James Gunn and Peter Safran have been clear that they will not greenlight a project until they are satisfied with a complete screenplay.

The movie follows a growing trend in the superhero space of projects focusing as much on the villains as on the heroes, from the ongoing HBO series “The Penguin” and Disney+ series “Agatha All Along” to Warner Bros. upcoming sequel “Joker: Folie à Deux” and Sony’s upcoming Marvel adaptations “Venom: The Last Dance” and “Kraven the Hunter.”

DC Studios is going all in on its villains with Joker: Folie Deux hitting theaters and The Penguin on HBO. Now it looks like James Gunn and Peter Safran's next gamble is to pair Bane and Deathstroke up in a movie. Gunn is currently working on his new Dcu, which so far has a wide selection of different projects from the animated series Creature Commandos debuting later this year, and both Superman and Peacemaker Season 2 set for release in 2025. These will subsequently be joined by Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow in 2026 with a Lanterns series in the same year. James Gunn's new cinematic DC Universe doesn't even officially kick off until this December with "Creature Commandos." Yet, a new film has already been added to the slate. The Hollywood Reporter claims that DC Studios is moving forward with a film starring A-List DC villains Bane and Deathstroke/Slade Wilson. The script is being penned by Matthew Orton, one of the credited writers on "Captain America: Brave New World."

Many of DC Comics' most popular characters are Batman villains, so they've been elevated from heels to stars: think of Joker, Penguin, and Harley Quinn, all of whom have all received their own character-focused shows and/or movies. McFarlane Toys has cowls based on the Batman TV series from the 1960s, Tim Burton;s 1989 Batman, and one based on the Batman: Knightfall comic from the 1990s all for sale. While they don't release until November, fans can place their pre-orders now for around $14.99 each for their favorite of the trio from usual toy retailers.
