Featured review
After a few lacklustre episodes which seems to be going nowhere despite the multi international locations episode six shifts gear and at the very least things come together and we find that these random strangers are not random at all.
The key is the nefarious and campy grandmother (Diana Rigg) who is looking for blood from her family members to fight some mysterious disease which explains the two goons who keep popping up. They were tracking Scotty and now found Ariel who they have kidnapped and hold captive so they can test his blood.
Her children are Scotty and Rhonda who are twins. Also Father Jude is her son who in his wild younger days had it on with Jamie's birth mother. It turns out that he is Ariel and Jamie's father. Father Jude realises that the girl he met in Poland, Layla is his granddaughter.
Jamie does not take this well. After all his birth mother suddenly died when a ton of bricks fell on her while she was proclaiming him as a messiah live on television. Now he finds that his natural father did a runner on him as well and he decides to take part in some experimental drug trial until Jamie tells him that he saw his daughter Layla and Paula, the mother who raised him talks some sense into him.
At least now we are getting somewhere even if Jamie is too maudlin to be likable despite his good intentions. At least Scotty springs into action to save his sister even though he does not realise that he has put himself at risk from the police. Scotty and General Gaines have a few nice moments such as Gaines realising that it was a good job that they never decided to have kids but later leaves Scotty behind once he knows the police will be on to him.
