This is the fifth film in both series.
The third film to feature Yancy Butler as the character Reba, and the second to feature Robert Englund as the character Jim Bickerman. Both characters previously appeared together in Lake Placid: The Final Chapter (2012).

Natasha Jane Pyne filmed two versions of her bedroom and lake scenes: One where she's naked and another where she's wearing a bra in the bedroom and bikini top at the lake to use for standard TV broadcastings of the movie where nudity isn't allowed.
British actress Natasha Jane Pyne's only role and first nude scene. Before this, she auditioned as a singer on the reality show The X Factor UK (2004) in 2012 under the name Tasha Pyle. After, she tried breaking into films and took this offer even though it involved almost full nudity and a sex scene. She said in an interview that being totally naked all day on the small set in front of a crew for the bedroom scene was nerve-wracking enough but she also spent hours on a lake beach topless in front of the crew and several other actors. Originally she only signed on to do the bedroom scene nude but when they were filming at the lake, the director asked her if she'd be willing to go topless. She agreed.
