Gravitas Ventures and Elliander Pictures present COSMOS, a contemporary sci-fi movie inspired by 80s and 90s era adventure.

Three amateur astronomers accidentally intercept what they believe is a signal from an alien civilization. Realizing they may have just stumbled across Mankind's greatest discovery, they must race to document their finding, prove its authenticity and share it with the world before it is lost forever. But the truth they uncover is even more incredible than any of them could have imagined.

Set over one night and against the backdrop of a World changing discovery, COSMOS offers spectacle and thrills but reminds us success is nothing without people to share it with.

Cosmos had no funding or budget - all equipment was either owned prior to filming or borrowed, all locations were lent and all cast and crew worked on the project without a fee.

Goofs
The satellite they track moves east-to-west. While not impossible, nearly all non-polar, low-earth-orbit satellites are launched west-to-east as that leverages the earth's spin in obtaining the necessary orbital speed.

Quotes
Roy Kennedy: I figure there's two types of scientist Mike; those that look down at Earth trying to figure out what's going on here, and then there are those who look up to space searching for the answers out there. But they're both really looking for the same thing: Who are we? What are we? What does all this mean?

Great Flick, Awesome Look from another view

First of all, Cosmos is a masterclass on low budget high production value. It's awesome seeing what they talk about from a whole new view scape. Yes it's not paced to the best of it's ability and some time could be cut out easily, but once things finally kick off, it's actually a great Flick with some heart pounding scenes. They have obvious influences and wanted to set a tone based on those influences, and I think they nailed it. Definitely worth a watch especially for any space lovers.
