The comedy chat-show is, somewhat surprisingly, set to return for a 10-episode sixth series in early 2021 - four years after the previous series aired. UKTV announced on Tuesday, 8th December 2020 that the 10 episodes are to be recorded during December 2020 and January 2021 for broadcast on Dave in Spring 2021. The fact that the format lends itself easily to social distancing is thought to have prompted the renewal.
On Wednesday, 26th October 2022, UKTV announced that they have commissioned Phil McIntyre Television to produce an 8-episode seventh series of the comedy chat show. Series 7 will air on UKTV's comedy orientated channel Dave in early 2023.
A vast majority of the participants have also appeared with Alan on Qi and, by that same token, several of the stories they share (particularly Alan's) have been told by those people on that show in some fashion.
