Very good indie film. great all round acting. Poverty and brutality go hand in hand.
I really liked this. I've only seen maybe two of the actors in other things and everyone blew me away. This is a great indie flick. It's very gruesome. I wouldn't recommend to anyone who's been abused or rape. This movie shows extreme poverty and the opening scene is heartbreaking and sets the tone for the rest of the film. The actor ho plays the son is phenomenal. I'll have to look for him in other things. Since I'm the first to review I won't give away much but it's about a family went thru a horrible tragedy and have to still relive it daily. A bit of a revenge flick too.
I thought I'd check this out tonight thinking yea another b rate movie. Was I wrong wow! Great acting! Hell of a thrill ride! Why didnt this movie get more credit? Total sleeper! You will not be disappointed and if so I will personally refund your money!
During this odd covid time where new movies are barely being produced or released it really is difficult to find a movie worth watching. I sometimes spend 20 minutes scrolling through Netflix, Hulu and Amazon then decide on a movie that is horrible and a complete waste of time. That said I'm glad I picked this movie. It's a good story of standing by your family. Regardless if you were born rich or poor if you value family you will like this movie. You don't have to live it to understand their lifestyle but you can feel the pain and suffering the son goes through in this. Very good acting and story flow. The movie length is also perfect.
A harsh, raw and uncompromising look into American poverty and its consequences. Fueled by a striking performance by Beau Knapp, this drama has enough action to keep viewers on the edge of their seat throughout, but it's the emotional toll that poverty takes on this trailer park family that really is the focus of the movie.
Although you are lead to root for some characters more than others, not one of them is all good or all bad. They are all survivors who do not hesitate to move over to the dark side out of necessity. Even the bad guys show glimpses of humanity.
It is a bleak movie about a bleak reality. You will not enjoy it. But it must be seen, if only to understand the motivations of people who can only hope to somehow become middle-class citizens.
