Director Ridley Scott (“The Last Duel”) continues developing his "Napoleon" feature "Kitbag", starring Joaquin Phoenix ("Joker") as the 'Emperor' of the French from 1804 to 1815, as seen through the eyes of his wife 'Josephine' (Jodie Comer), for 20th Century Studios:

"...the new film is described as a personal look at Napoleon’s origins and his swift, ruthless climb to emperor, viewed through the prism of his addictive and often volatile relationship with his wife and one true love, 'Josephine'. It looks like Michael Winterbottom is taking a break from directing Russell 'Parklife' Brand documentaries for the time being.

Now that The Emperor's New Clothes is done with, he's attached to helm Will Ferrell's upcoming indie drama Russ & Roger Go Beyond.

The film follows the relationship between film critic Roger Ebert and soft-core filmmaker Russ Meyer, who created Beyond the Valley of the Dolls together in 1970.

As The Hollywood Reporter reveals, Winterbottom will direct Will Ferrell in the movie, with the Anchorman star due to play Meyer.

It was revealed earlier in the year that Josh Gad is in line to play Roger Ebert in the upcoming drama.

The script was written by Chris Cluess, while David Permut, Cami Winikoff, Mark Amin and Tyler Boehm are set to produce the film.

Brand assumes the lead, taking aim at the bankers and corporations that form the world's top 1% of the wealth pyramid, looking to expose the problems in their practices and the more severe issues of income inequality that stem from those practices. Brand is able to bring his signature levity to an otherwise grim topic. He shines in his connections to the public, never shying away from the opportunity to charmingly mouth off to passers-by, security guards - anyone really.

The comedian-turned-political activist has teamed up on the film with Michael Winterbottom, the acclaimed director of 24 Hour Party People, Jude and The Face of an Angel.

Back in 2004, Michael Moore scored the biggest box office hit of his career. Fahrenheit 9/11 was Moore's reaction to the horrific events of September 11th 2001, and specifically the political changes that followed in its aftermath. Russell Brand and Rainn Wilson are among the new cast members for Nicolas Cage's war comedy Army of One.

Borat director Larry Charles's true-life film casts Nicolas Cage as Gary Faulkner, a handyman who travels to Pakistan to capture Osama Bin Laden without any training.

The project will mark Brand's first big screen project since 2012's Paradise.

Rounding out the cast for Army of One will be comedy veterans Paul Scheer and Ken Marino, as well as American Horror Story star Denis O'Hare, reports Deadline.

The Goldbergs star Wendi McLendon-Covey was previously confirmed to be starring opposite Cage.

Army of One has no release date at this time.

In the latest clip from The Emperor's New Clothes, Brand criticises the wage disparity between people working in the same London office.

Brand points out: "A window cleaner working in the city would have to work for more than 300 years to make the same amount that their boss would make in a year."

The documentary film focuses on the ever-growing divide between the richest and poorest members of society and attempts to expose bankers' role in the economic downturn.

Brand was voted the world's fourth most influential thinker in a recent poll.

Meanwhile, the comedian told Alan Carr's Chatty Man that he understands why some people vote for Ukip.

The Emperor's New Clothes will hold special screenings across the UK on April 21 alongside a live Q&A event with Russell Brand.
