The king of them all, especially if you’re looking for a gift for a burgeoning cinephile, is Criterion’s massive CC40, collecting 40 landmark films form their 40-year history. It’s not the only stellar set from the company, of course, as I adored the essential Chantal Akerman Masterpieces, 1968–1978, Éric Rohmer’s Tales of the Four Seasons, Gregg Araki’s Teen Apocalypse Trilogy, Three Revolutionary Films by Ousmane Sembène,...

Doctor Bryerly (Mark Doherty) and Captain Ilbury (Kieran Roche) have been named trustees of Maude's fortune but not her guardian. Blending noir elements with superhero genre could make Spider-Man Noir show the most unique superhero adaptation, much in the way Red Rock West merges genres. Nicolas Cage's range shines in the underrated film Red Rock West, showcasing his ability to mix serious and comedic moments. Noir's potential success could help shine light on Red Rock West in the future.
While fans anxiously await Nicolas Cage starring in the live-action television show, Spider-Man Noir, an underrated film of his from the 90s could be the perfect thing to watch in the meantime. Set in its own universe, the upcoming Marvel show will see Cage play a variant of Spider-Man Noir, following his performance as another version of the same character in the Sony film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Officially titled Noir, the upcoming series will be on MGM+ and Amazon Prime.

That’s a wrap on all three of the Creative Arts Emmy Awards shows, so let the music play!
“RuPaul’s Drag Race,” the reality competition series which is hosted by drag queen RuPaul Charles, won big with five Emmys in several categories, including Outstanding Casting for a Reality Program, Outstanding Directing for a Reality Program and Outstanding Host for a Reality or Competition Program (which is RuPaul’s sixth straight Emmy win for the category).
Also, to further the franchise’s stardom, “RuPaul’s Drag Race Untucked,” a behind-the-scenes spinoff of the reality series, won the unstructured reality category for the first time.
None of this weekend’s three Creative Arts shows were televised. Next Saturday, a highlights show of sorts will air on Fxx starting at 8 p.m. Et/Pt.
The *real* Emmys, hosted by Cedric the Entertainer, air live next Sunday, Sept. 19, starting at 8 p.m. Et/5 p.

Irish gang drama Kin, premiering September 9 on AMC+, unveiled a deadly first trailer and key art for the series today.
The clip zeroes in on a devastating war that has begun by a murder in a family where loyalty is paramount.
Starring Charlie Cox, Clare Dunne (Herself), Aidan Gillen (Game of Thrones), and Ciarán Hinds, Kin charts the lives of the Kinsellas, a small but tight-knit crime family embroiled in a war against a powerful drug kingpin, Eamon Cunningham (Hinds).
A boy is killed and his family embark on a gangland war with an international cartel – a war that is impossible to win.
It’s David and Goliath. Out-numbered, out-financed and out-gunned, the Kinsellas find themselves holed up in their Dublin stronghold while their businesses fail, and family members and associates are picked off.
But they have something the cartel does not: the unbreakable bonds of blood and family.

Nicolas Cage has appeared in dozens of movies of varying critical reception over the years, but his latest movie Pig has risen above the rest as his highest-rated live-action movie on Rotten Tomatoes. With a 97% Certified Fresh score, Pig has topped Red Rock West at 95%, Moonstruck at 94%, and Face/Off at 92%. The 97% score is tied with the animated movie Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, which featured Cage as the voice of Spider-Man Noir.
This is certainly great news for Nicolas Cage, who has developed a bit of a reputation for accepting all roles thrown his way, for better or for worse. He has previously starred in universally panned movies with 0% rotten scores on Rotten Tomatoes, like Deadfall and Grand Isle. Titles like The Wicker Man, Bangkok Dangerous, and Arsenal didn't fare much better. Perhaps this just goes to show that Cage is indeed a fantastic actor, he just needs the right material to work with.

“The Witcher: Blood Origin,” the “Witcher” prequel series currently in the works at Netflix, has cast Laurence O’Fuarain in a lead role.
Set in an elven world 1200 years before the events of “The Witcher,” “Blood Origin” will tell a story lost to time – the creation of the first prototype Witcher, and the events that lead to the pivotal “conjunction of the spheres,” when the worlds of monsters, men, and elves merged to become one.
O’Fuarain will star as Fjall. Born into a clan of warriors sworn to protect a King, Fjall carries a deep scar within, the death of a loved one who fell in battle trying to save him. A scar that won’t let him settle, or make peace with himself or the world around him. It was an hour for the romantics, and love won out.
We had not one, but two engagements, a fairy-tale romance equipped with the typical angst reminiscent of a Hallmark movie, and that sweet and torturous slow burn on The Resident Season 3 Episode 16.
CoNic shippers, your time has come! We have ourselves a proposal and engagement. Please proceed to the comment section to properly squeal and fanperson over this delightful news.
But first, let's talk about the entire installment; otherwise, this review is all for naught. And it took a lot to formulate multiple sentences instead of just leaving it at "!!!!!,"so bear with me before you guys celebrate below.
The hour started with a proposal, and ended with one, but damn if everything between wasn't deliciously good content, too.
After all the Red Rock drama, it was nice to get some happier moments out of our favorite characters,...

Grey's Anatomy introduced an unexpected new character in its midseason finale. Dr. Cormac Hayes, played by Richard Flood, is the new head of pediatric surgery, and he immediately clashes with Meredith over the treatment of their shared teenage patient. Hayes looks to be ready to shake things up at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital - here's where you've seen his actor before.
The Irish actor might not be as familiar to American audiences. He's had several credits on European TV shows, including Titanic: Blood and Steel, an internationally produced miniseries about the construction of the Titanic. He costarred alongside such names as Derek Jacobi, Elementary's Ophelia Lovibond, and Chris Noth. Flood then had two series-regular roles in a row. In 2013, he joined the cast of the drama Crossing Lines as Detective Tommy McConnel, a specialist in weapons and tactics from Northern Ireland. Then, in 2015, after leaving Crossing Lines,...

Westerns are all about values: good and bad, law and lawlessness, etc. Joel McCrea and Frances Dee’s ‘bad man’ saga isn’t faith based, exactly, but it’s great for humanitarian values, the simple notion that the good in people should be encouraged. And one important detail may make it unique. Hint: John Milius might be strongly prejudiced against this picture.

An honest Cage gets caught up in an offbeat thriller.“Adios, Red Rock.”
As we celebrate Texas Week here at Fsr I knew I wanted to make sure this week’s Tao of Cage had a little Texas twang. Unfortunately I do very little planning in advance and hardly ever think things through. Last week I wrote about Joe, which would have been the perfect choice for Texas Week. Joe isn’t just Nicolas Cage’s most Texas movie but I do believe it’s his only movie that actually takes place in Texas. Go figure.
There may not be another Cage movie that take place in Texas but in 1992 Cage did play a drifter from Texas. This week we’re talking Red Rock West!
In this offbeat thriller Cage stars as Michael Williams, a former Marine from Odessa now looking for work in Wyoming. A friend gives him a tip about a job opportunity on an...
