From directors Colin and Cameron Cairnes, Late Night with the Devil was one of the most talked about indie horror movies of last year, the film scaring up $15 million in theaters and going on to have a successful run on the Shudder streaming service. Now, it’s a coloring book!

From Chris Butler and his company Chris Butler Designs, the Late Night with the Devil Official Coloring Book is now up for pre-order and it’s set to begin shipping on August 29!

Made for adults, it’s both a coloring book and an activity book, featuring 36 pages that bring various memorable images and moments from Late Night with the Devil to colorful life.

Cineverse and Lloyd Braun’s venture firm Banyan have teamed to launch MicroCo, a micro-drama studio and streaming platform, with TV industry vets Jana Winograde and Susan Rovner set for top exec roles.

MicroCo, whose consumer-facing brand identity will be announced at a later date, is a 50-50 joint venture between the companies, described as a purpose-built supplier of mobile-first series. While the broad heading of “short form” encompasses everything from confessional TikToks to viral YouTube Shorts, micro-drama is more specific and the category has gained considerable traction internationally. The top five micro-drama services in Asia racked up a collective 150 million monthly active users by the beginning of 2025, Deadline recently reported.

Universal Studios Hollywood has completed its 2025 Halloween Horror Nights lineup with the announcement of additional scares inspired by Poltergeist, The Purge and Blumhouse.

The Poltergeist-themed haunted house promises to “transport guests into nightmarish scenes with terrifying characters from the movie,” including elements from the creepy home from the original film which, fans will remember, was built atop an old cemetery, contained a paranormal tv and housed a portal to another ghostly dimension.

Located on the historic Universal backlot, Terror Tram: Enter the Blumhouse will transform the iconic Studio Tour tram for Halloween. Mid-ride, guests will set off on foot to encounter some of the most iconic villains from Blumhouse’s popular horror franchises, including The Grabber from The Black Phone, the possessed from The Exorcist: Believer, the killers from The Purge franchise and M3GAN herself. They’re Here. Again. Universal Studios Hollywood is reviving their popular 2018 Poltergeist haunted house for this year’s Halloween Horror Nights.

Halloween Horror Nights kicks off at Universal Studios Hollywood on Thursday, September 4.

It's going to be a big spooky season at the movies this year.The Conjuring: Last Rites is set to end paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren's chapter of the popular horror shared universe. Over the last decade, haunted doll Annabelle and her demonic friends have been terrorizing moviegoers. Now, ahead of Last Rites, this killer doll has returned with some of her fellow genre icons with a massive new Funko collection.

This haunting Funko wave includes both plushies and Pop keychains. The plushies include Annabelle, Regan MacNeil from The Exorcist, Stripe from Gremlins, Pennywise the Dancing Clown from It (2017), and Beetlejuice from the famous Tim Burton horror comedy franchise. In the independent film community, few names are as iconic as Troma Entertainment, the famously scrappy production company behind films like The Toxic Avenger and Class of Nuke ‘Em High. The company’s latest film, Occupy Cannes, is a documentary following the Troma Team as they headed to Cannes in 2013 to promote the premiere of Return to Nuke ‘Em High Vol. 1, only to run into opposition from the establishment… and the authorities.

Terrifier’s Art the Clown has become a horror legend this past decade. His trilogy thus far has been one of the goriest in recent memory, and the Damien Leone-created slasher brand will soon be ending with Terrifier 4. Leone is currently writing the film, but a ton of pop culture-centric companies have been passing the time with killer Art collectibles. Now Mezco Toyz is joining the demented fun with their new Terrifier figure.

A part of Mezco's nostalgic 5 Points toy line, their latest 3.75-inch scale figure is Art the Clown. This now-iconic psycho is seen in his standard black-and-white clown costume. However, you can't have an Art figure without a weapon, and Mezco has armed this killer jester with a deadly bull whip of torture. The Little Pale Girl is also included in this set. Universal Destinations and Experiences has rounded out its Halloween Horror Nights 2025 lineup with two pop‑culture heavyweights, confirming haunted houses based on Five Nights at Freddy’s and WWE’s Wyatt Sicks for both its Orlando and Hollywood parks starting 29 August and 4 September respectively. The killer Santa is back. Over forty years since it first outraged audiences and delighted horror fans, Silent Night, Deadly Night is being reimagined for a new generation. Slated to open in US cinemas on 12 December 2025, the remake stars Halloween Ends actor Rohan Campbell in the role of Billy Chapman, the traumatised orphan turned axe-wielding Christmas avenger.

Directed and written by Wrong Turn’s Mike P. Nelson, the new film arrives via Cineverse, whose recent output includes the Terrifier franchise. The teaser trailer, released over Comic-Con weekend, leans heavily into the retro slasher aesthetic of its predecessor, while promising a slick, modern approach to the festive carnage.

The original Silent Night, Deadly Night, released in 1984, caused a national controversy due to its marketing, which prominently featured a killer dressed as Father Christmas. Halloween Horror Nights kicks off at Universal Orlando Resort on Friday, August 29, and at Universal Studios Hollywood on Thursday, September 4– that means that yes, this house will be available at both coasts.

Universal’s description reads, “You’re about to go head-to-head with the fiendish Wyatt Sicks at Halloween Horror Nights. Enter an eerie arena, where you’ll go through an ominous, lantern-lit doorway into the maniacal minds of Uncle Howdy, Rambling Rabbit, Mercy the Buzzard, Abby the Witch, and Huskus the Pig. Beware, you’re about to meet your match.”

The Wyatt Sicks are a professional wrestling stable from WWE’s SmackDown brand. The perfectly-suited-to-horror group is inspired by characters developed by Bray Wyatt.

The Toxic Avenger is a movie that many people believed would never see light of day. Despite being completed almost two years, the film has sat in limbo, throwing out small teasers, trailers and images to let everyone know it still exists. However, now, the movie is ready to unleash its insane, gory madness on the world in just over a month’s time. But what made director Macon Blair choose Game of Thrones star Peter Dinklage for the lead role of this remake of the classic Troma Entertainment property? Simply, he likes him.

During a short interview at San Diego Comic-Con, Blair was asked his reasons for making Dinklage the star of his movie by The Hollywood Reporter, to which he replied:

Speaking at San Diego Comic-Con, Clown in a Cornfield director Eli Craig addressed the possibility of making a sequel film. The 2025 horror film is based on the 2020 novel by Adam Cesare. The plot focuses on a young woman named Quinn who moves into a small town with her father, only to discover that it is being haunted by a terrifying clown.

The film version of Clown in a Cornfield featured a leading cast including Katie Douglas, Aaron Abrams, Carson MacCormac, Vincent Muller, Will Sasso, and Kevin Durand. It was released in May of this year and made $10.7 million on an estimated $1 million budget.

In an interview with ScreenRant at Sdcc, Craig speaks about whether he would adapt more of Cesare's novels. In response to a potential Clown in a Cornfield sequel, the director said, "let Shudder make the decision." That said, he seemed confident that the sequels could have strong content.

FIlmmaker Osgood Perkins is delivering his next horror movie later this year. To tease its arrival, an eerie teaser trailer has just been released.

From Neon, Keeper is slated for a release on Nov. 14, 2025. For Perkins, it's a follow-up to The Monkey, the Stephen King adaptation the filmmaker released earlier this year. Per Bloody Disgusting, fans of director Eli Craig's feature film adaptation of author Adam Cesare's 2020 novel Clown in a Cornfield will finally get to bring Frendo's reign of terror home with them to enjoy over and over again. Clown in a Cornfield will be available in SteelBook 4k Ultra-High Definition, Blu-ray, and DVD formats beginning September 16 courtesy of Rlje Films. The 4K Ultra-High Definition edition of the film will come with a set of Clown in a Cornfield magnets that attack to the SteelBook hardcover case. Each version of the film will also include exclusive audio commentary from Craig, Cesare, and stars Katie Douglas and Carson MacCormac.

Clown in a Cornfield was directed by Craig, best known for the hit 2010 horror comedy Tucker & Dale vs. Evil, from a screenplay co-written with Carter Blanchard.

And it can admittedly be frustrating hopping from one story to the next in an attempt to keep up, leaving us with little time to inject our opinions into the daily news stories we’re posting.

So as the Editor-in-Chief of Bloody Disgusting, I wanted to start taking an hour or so every week to Slow Down on a Friday afternoon and recap some of the most interesting news stories that you might’ve scrolled past in the last several days. I also wanted to take a moment to actually share my thoughts on some of this stuff, which I often have precious little time to really do during these increasingly hectic weeks.

Get ready for one bloody Halloween. Universal Studios has announced today that Art the Clown will be terrorizing Halloween Horror Nights 2025 with a Terrifier-themed haunted house!

Halloween Horror Nights kicks off at Universal Orlando Resort on Friday, August 29, and at Universal Studios Hollywood on Thursday, September 4- that means that yes, this house will be available at both coasts.

Guests will venture into Art the Clown’s Funhouse, which first appeared in Terrifier 2, where they will encounter Vicky, the Little Pale Girl, the revolting bathroom scene, and a Christmas nightmare. Expect to get up close and personal with some of Art’s nastiest kills.

Universal’s description reads, “Try your luck against Art the Clown in the Terrifier funhouse. You’ll witness his grotesque handiwork of torture and be exposed to the spatter of his victims. It’s a whole new level of gore!”

Terrifier fans will get to experience a funhouse of horrors starring the one and only Art the Clown as part of this year’s Halloween Horror Nights event.

Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort announced the slasher franchise as the latest addition to the 2025 house lineup on Thursday. The news follows previous reveals of houses and experiences based on Fallout, Friday the 13th, and Five Nights at Freddy’s.

Based on the universe created by writer-director Damien Leone, producer Phil Falcone along with Dark Age Cinema Productions, the maze promises to deliver “a grisly haunted house oozing with a new sense of terror.”

Inspired by Art the Clown’s nightmare funhouse at the abandoned carnival from the 2022 sequel, the house will see attendees become the latest victims of Terrifier’s titular murderer.
