In a popular speakeasy, Jack Malone, a dirty cop, haunted by nightmares of war, finds a new location to shake down. But there's a presence within the walls of the club, run by Chesterfield, played by Ice-T. When Malone comes to collect his "luxury tax" he and his partner incite a small war against a den of vampires.
The movie is amazing, the style is sweet and the costume design is on point- I loved it all! The originality is what really keeps this movie entertaining. Running blood, a much-craved liquid via the underground, by vamps, is a pretty wild idea, making Bloodrunners and exciting surprise and electrifying!
Other than watching a vampire get staked in the shoulder, but later spotted with it in the center of his chest, I found nothing wrong with the movie. It's classy, well put together and the special effects are vigorous and enjoyable.
Take a look at Bloodrunners, releasing later in 2017.

Right of the bat, i could not tell if this was prohibition 2020 or the 1920s. Getting mixed signal about that direction there. You also get to meet Ice T with a big fat diamond earring which i guess men back then wear. The dialogue from the first officer yapping away sounds 20th century. The editing where the singer performs one song had multiple annoying dissolves. And then we are back to the past when the waitress talks with 1920s accent. Confused... could not watch it. Oh don't forget the vampire who did the matrix move in the bed scene.
Now if this movie is told and shot and edited.. in the classic way, i bet there is a descent movie in there somewhere. I have to fail this one. Next project please
For low budget movies, this thing is nothing short of a miracle. It looks like it had a bigger budget than $180K. The sets, the costumes, the props, the number of locations.... the writer/director/cinematographer/production designer, Dan Lantz pulled a rabbit out of his hat. The writer/producer, Adam Danoff must have pulled every favor from every person he knew. I have to applaud the sheer task accomplished.
The story, acting, plot are your run-of-the mill horror comedy fare, nothing unique (but not in a bad way). It just not something you'd expect to see from such a small budget.

A dirty cop starts to believe that his town is controlled
by a group of vampires. I try not to take this kind of movies
too serious, and you shouldn't either.
Oh poor Ice T, how the mighty have fallen. The overall story had some merit & the setting of vampires "running" blood out of a small town, that finally drives them out (sort of) was intriguing enough to warrant a watch. But I was wrong. The dialog = atrocious. Acting = worse. Action scenes were beyond silly. Attention to details (see goofs) was awful. Ice T was still a presence - but why was he in this?

- TriviaThe location for the "dungeon under the speakeasy" was an ACTUAL speakeasy back in the 1920s. The secret room was hidden under the Star Hotel in Marcus Hook, PA - a port frequented by sailors back in the day. The original hidden stairways and plastered walls can be seen in the movie.
- GoofsA shipment of bottles from Canada is encased in crates bearing the maple leaf. The maple leaf has been a recognized symbol of Canada since the 1850s. However, Canada was still flying the Union Jack in 1933 and didn't adopt the maple leaf symbol, until October 22, 1964 and was proclaimed into law by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II (the Queen of Canada) on February 15, 1965.
