The worst fighting movie I've ever seen

OK, so it's based on a true story which is always a plus in my opinion. However, that said story has to be coherent, interesting and have likeable characters which this film has none of!

Basically, the story jumps all over the place, you know pretty much nothing about the main character and he just instantly seems to be a pro boxer after his first visit to boxing training and is incoherent. Also, there is nothing particularly likeable about the main protagonist, you don't care about him which is essential in a film like this, he's just a person which we know nothing about that has a temper and wants to fight for his rights to fight with a turban and beard (which, I don't think he should. If you enter a specific sport with specific rules, you respect them).

Mikey rourke is wasted here, purely because of the aforementioned reasons, bad writing and bad film. And, I say fighting film, but there is hardly any fighting at all, and what there is, is just poorly done. Overall avoid, an absolutely terrible film, bad writing, incoherent, bad acting from the main character, poor fighting scenes and an uninteresting story.

Go and watch a good fighting film like Southpaw, Undisputed 1/2, Rocky, The Raid etc

Good story, entertaining movie

Its not great, just nicely good. Good acting all around with Mickey Rourke as the heavyweight crowd puller . Decent boxing action.

Its All About The Beard!

Not really, but the beard played a big part! This was a pretty good movie, it kept my interest and touched on matters beyond boxing...The lead actor, did a very good job acting and even looks a hell of alot like the real guy the movie was based on...The lawyer girl did great as well, but the reason i watched was for mickey rourke..I like most anything he has been in,and he also has boxed himself in younger days...It was jarring and a bit sad to see him so old and frail looking,he has lost so much weight and muscle...If you remember him from Domino, or The Wrestler and recall how big and imposing he was, then see him now, it is quite shocking,,Hopefully he is well,I thought he looked so much better with some mass, but we all age and look more frail as the yrs pass, its life.. Mickey did great as the quirky trainer..What is badly lacking is decent boxing skills in the fight scenes....marginal, and amatuerish at best, but this movies is Not boxing centric...It is focused more upon human rights issues and the acting was good throughout... the lead guy,he did a fine job and was very likeable as a person... a different boxing movie, done well enough to hold ones interest...

AMAZING 10/10

An inspiring true story that takes you on a journey of perseverance, laughter and tears keeping you in Pardeeps corner until the very end. Tiger hit theatres at a very relevant time bringing an important message about acceptance and change. Highly recommend this film!

Amazing movie

This movie is straight up amazing. In times where our country is so divided this movie outlines why we should respect one another everyday. At the end of the day we are all human and the same.

Very good...

12-year-old geocache champion Pilialoha "Pili" Kawena is abruptly pulled from her hectic life in New York and dumped in rural O'ahu to help care for her grandfather. Initially skeptical of her new surroundings, Pili finds the diary of an enigmatic pirate in her father's studio suggesting a 200-year-old sunken treasure hidden in the island's caves and mountains. With her older brother and new friends in tow, she uses her clue-solving skills to take them on an adventure of a lifetime through Hawaii's natural wonders. As she learns to respect and love her native culture, she also discovers that not all secrets should be shared and that life's true treasure is her 'ohana-family.

Another excellent biography based on a particular moment in the life of the boxer Silk Petresrere, he broke paradigms and remained in boxing for only three years, but what he did for the sport was much greater happy for today he is successful speaker, university professor I just couldn't really find out if he married a lawyer ex-girlfriend of his biggest rival...

Nationality changed for no reason

Movie was well done although it would've been better if they kept him as Canadian and didn't change him to being an American, really no reason for that at all.
