Remake of the Nowergian movie Arme Riddere (2011), whose concept was devised by novelist Jo Nesbø. Jo is an alleged fan of the TV series Breaking Bad (2008) which starred Bryan Cranston, who plays a role in the new version of the film. Jo's 10th entry of the Harry Hole book series, "Police", describes the character Katrine Bratt watching "Breaking Bad" and finding it amusing.
