Hey black-ish fans, meet your next obsession: grown-ish.

From executive producer Kenya Barris, grown-ish follows Zoey (Yara Shahidi), Dre (Anthony Anderson) and Rainbow Johnson (Tracee Ellis Ross) from the Emmy-nominated ABC comedy as they embark on a new chapter of their lives: Zoey’s freshman year of college.

People can exclusively reveal the first promo for the upcoming spinoff, which kicks off with a special two-episode premiere Jan. 3 on Freeform — and you’re probably not shocked that the Johnson family patriarch doesn’t take the transition all that well.

“It hurts so bad,” he wails into the phone in the sneak peek above.

Freeform’s Alone Together doesn’t debut until next year, but the cable net today ordered a second season of the comedy about L.A. millennials. At today’s Freeform Upfront presentation, the network’s upcoming slate of new TV was given a sneak peek. With its young adult viewers ever present, Freeform has fully committed to utilizing digital platforms, much as it did with the success of “Beyond” being made available on demand to binge immediately on its premiere.

Freeform President Tom Ascheim promised the continued availability of streaming and on-demand services to be used in conjunction with traditional broadcasting for the shows to come. Here are the first looks at what Freeform has in store.

“Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger”

Soap vet John-Paul Lavoisier, who plays Days of Our Lives‘ Philip Kiriakis, is the latest to exit the NBC sudser.

Lavoisier will last air on Days later this year, after joining the cast in late 2015. The news comes after Martha Madison (who plays Belle Black) announced her departure date from the sudser.

Days fans this year also have said/are saying goodbye to the characters of Summer (played by Marie Wilson) and Lani (played by Sal Stowers), while Jen Lilley is set to vacate the role of Theresa.

“Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping” didn’t exactly do gangbusters at the box office, but fans of the Lonely Island comedy troupe/production company have found a lot to like in the music-industry satire. Andy Samberg, Jorma Taccone and Akiva Schaffer will next have their hand in the pilot for “Alone Together,” a new scripted comedy just ordered by Freeform.
