Featured review
Superman is trying to recruit Batman into the Justice League. The bitter loner Batman refuses due to his mistrust of the superpowered alien. Somehow the superheroes are disappearing one by one. They've been kidnapped by Bat-Mite who is setting an elaborate apparatus to destroy the Justice League and forcing Batman to save them.
This follows the first Lego movie. I love the relationship between Batman and Superman. They have a fun scene but the situation pulls them apart. I'd prefer them as an unwilling buddy cop combo for the entire episode. Instead, the villain is Bat-Mite and his silliness saps away the satirical take of the superhero genre. Bat-Mite is a ridiculous fan boy and a satirical take himself. He may work to take the tar out of a serious Batman story. The only way to make Bat-Mite work in this may be to concentrate on his irrelevance. Opening the door is a good start but his whole story needs to be that. Like I said, this should be a comedy duo with Batman and Superman where Batman is pissed whenever Superman gets the bad guy easily and quickly. Their banter is the all and everything that this should be.

Batman: The disappearance of the monuments and the Justice League were just framework crimes, like 2 slices of bread on an evil sandwich. And the bologna in the center of that sandwich is me. The mastermind behind this sandwich must be hiding at the last place I ever want to go: the Hall of Justice.
