The character inspiration of Officer Barry seems to be based on Officer Jim Kurring from the 1999 movie "Magnolia". Officer Kurring was played by John C. Reilly who also voices Officer Barry.
The episode titles for the first few episodes (I-IV) are a reference to the Roman numeral numbering of Led Zeppelin albums. The official synopses indicate this, with nods to Zeppelin's "Brown Bomber" and "The Runes" album nicknames.
Four of the episodes are named after Rush albums.
Ben Jones' voice of Barf is very reminiscent of his performance of Alfe from the Problem Solverz.
