Per Variety, it's been announced that Hulu has set Powell's new show, Chad Powers, with a release date of Sept. 30, 2025. In the series, Powell plays washed-up football quarterback Russ Holliday in what could be his most transformative role. The comedy is a half-hour show co-created by Powell and Michael Waldron. Alongside Powell, the series also stars Perry Mattfeld, Quentin Plair, Wynn Everett, Frankie A. Rodriguez, and Steve Zahn.

In the series, per the logline: "When bad behavior nukes hotshot Qb Russ Holliday’s college career, he disguises himself and walks onto a struggling Southern football team as the talented, affable Chad Powers.”

A Viral Sketch Inspired the Series

The show is inspired by a viral comedy sketch that was uploaded in 2022 featuring real-life Super Bowl winner Eli Manning, who made the video with he and his brother's Omaha Productions for ESPN+.

Hulu’s half-hour comedy Chad Powers, from co-creators and executive producers Glen Powell and Michael Waldron, will premiere on September 30th. Eli Manning serves as executive producer along with Omaha Productions’ Peyton Manning, Jamie Horowitz, Ben Brown, and ESPN.

Waldron and Adam Fasullo are executive producing for Anomaly Pictures. Luvh Rakhe will executive produce, and Tony Yacenda will serve as director and executive producer.

The series stars Powell, who is also co-creating, co-writing, and executive producing under his production co-banner Barnstorm Productions.

Trish Sie, whose credits include “Pitch Perfect 3,” “The Sleepover” and “Players,” is set to direct from a screenplay written by Ben Agron and Brandon Feldman.

“Marriage Material” follows the founder of a dating app, whose deadbeat husband’s alimony payments are bleeding her dry, so she must use it to find him a new wife before her company goes public.

As you start to look through the list of Ryan Murphy shows, you’ll find that there are way more than you initially thought. He’s the man behind Glee, Scream Queens, American Horror Story, and so much more. There’s simply no way that you can watch everything in a short space of time, and there are some shows just not as good as others.

How do you know if something is worth watching or skipping, though? After all, something can seem great from the premise, but then you get into two episodes and realize that it’s just not what was promised. The good news is I’ve watched the majority of his shows now, and I can tell you the ones that just don’t quite hit the mark. Scream 7 star Mason Gooding finally opened up about the highly-anticipated next installment to the iconic slasher franchise. Gooding has been portraying the role of Chad Meeks-Martin since 2022’s Scream, where he was introduced as Randy Meeks’ nephew.

Speaking with Variety, Gooding revealed that Scream 7 will feature the “most brutal” Ghostface of the franchise, teasing fans to anticipate the horror sequel’s next-level gruesome kill sequences. "It feels like an amplification of what’s came before, and there’s no better indication of that than Kevin Williamson, who wrote the original, coming back now to direct," he shared. "I think that Ghostface is absolutely the most brutal he’s been. I don’t want to spoil anything, but there’s some stuff that they do to the human body that I feel like Kevin is breaking new ground with. There was a prosthetic that sat in the makeup trailer that actually turned my stomach over.

Hulu has revealed the official teaser trailer for the half-hour comedy Chad Powers, which will premiere on the streaming service in the fall of 2025. The series comes from co-creators and executive producers Glen Powell and Michael Waldron.
