Julie Delpy had a Göteborg crowd in stitches on Wednesday as she accepted theHonorary Dragon Award.
“I am filming it so that my son believes me,” she told the audience which welcomed her with a standing ovation.
As an actor, Delpy collaborated with the likes of Linklater, Kieślowski, Volker Schlöndorff and Agnieszka Holland. Her very first film, “Detective,” was directed by Jean-Luc Godard.
“It was really exciting to work with them. What’s happening?! I thought they were all going to come out now,” she said, startled by a technical glitch.
“I also did a few bad films, but nobody has ever prepared That list. Everyone has forgotten about them, because that’s what happens to bad films. Which is good.”
Eager to pursue directing from an early age, she quickly ran into a wall.
“I was born into a feminist family and raised with this idea that I’m 100% equal.

Updated: There has been another round of content removal from Disney+, this time in the Emea region, which consists of Europe, the Middle East and Africa. More than 120 titles have been taken off this week, primarily Disney Channel original movies and vintage Disney live-action films, as well as a few series, including Zeke and Luther, Pepper Ann, So Random and the first three seasons of Nat Geo’s Genius and ESPN/Nat Geo docs.
According to sources, the takedowns were a result of a library title review. There have been several content purges at Disney+ over the last year amid cost-cutting, most notably the removal of a slew of original series last May.
Here is a list of movie titles that are said to be gone from Disney+ in Emea, compiled by Drew Ryan.

Leading French producer Michael Gentile’s Paris-based outfit The Film is about to start shooting Julie Delpy’s next directorial outing, “The Barbarians,” and Laurence Arné’s “Les Hennedricks” starring Dany Boon.
Delpy’s comeback to French filmmaking since “Lolo,” “The Barbarians” is a satirical comedy unfolding in a small town in Brittany which is preparing to welcome Ukrainian refugees after voting unanimously to greet them in exchange for subsidies from the government. But instead of seeing Ukrainians come into town, they see Syrian refugees, causing some tensions among locals and testing their liberal beliefs. Delpy will star in the film opposite Sandrine Kiberlain (“Mademoiselle Chambon”), Laurent Lafitte (“Elle”) and Ziad Bakri (“The Weekend Away”), India Hair (“Angry Annie”), Mathieu Demy (“The Bureau”) and Delpy’s father Albert Delpy.
Delpy penned the script with Matthieu Rumani (“Family Business”), in collaboration with Lea Domenech (“Bernadette”). “The Barbarians” will start filming on...

The Film TV, the Paris-based outfit headed by well-established producers Michael Gentile and Lauraine Heftler, has gained a substantial track record in three years.
The banner is presenting its first two shows at Series Mania Festival, Julie Delpy’s TV debut “On The Verge” which is backed by Canal Plus and Netflix; and “Jeune et Golri,” a series set against the backdrop of the stand-up comedy world.
Commissioned by French pay TV service Ocs, “Jeune et Golri” is a half-hour contemporary romantic comedy series based on an original idea by Agnès Hurstel, an actor and screenwriter, who created the show with Victor Saint-Macary (“Le Brio”) and Léa Domenach.
Hurstel stars in the show as Prune, a 25 year-old stand-up comedian who falls in love with a middle-aged man, Francis, not knowing he has a six-year-old girl. While Prune herself still feels like a teenager, she becomes an unlikely step mom to this little girl.

“Anatomie d’une chute” marks Triet’s follow up to “Sibyl,” which competed at Cannes in 2019. Les Films Pelleas is producing the movie with Marie-Ange Luciani’s Les Films de Pierre (“Bpm (Beats Per Minute)”). A Child is Waiting: Delpy’s Return to RomCom a Mixed Bag
Julie Delpy has managed to balance a terrific (and prolific) career as an actress and director, breaking out over the past decade as a pragmatic purveyor of romantic entanglements thanks to her twin titles 2 Days in Paris (2007) and 2 Days in New York (2012). Although The Countess (2008), her curious English language examination of the bloodthirsty historical figure Countess Bathory was unfortunately belabored, her tendency to portray complex romantic scenarios masquerading as fluff has proven to be her overarching strength. Which is exactly why her latest, Lolo, a sometimes pleasant endeavor, feels like more of a crass disappointment than it really is. Examining an overworked single mother’s attempt to rediscover romance despite the secret sabotage of her spoiled adult child, the narrative’s dependence on familiar tropes, not to mention the neglect of its central romance, bears remarkable similarity...

If not quite a hate-letter to the idea of motherhood, then certainly a strongly-worded memo of complaint, Julie Delpy's sixth directorial feature "Lolo" features long stretches of perhaps her most accomplished and enjoyable character-comedy yet. But as often with filmmakers for whom a certain register comes almost too easily, Delpy seems impatient with herself and her facility for spiky, verbal sparring and pithy self-deprecating put-downs. As though anxious to push beyond that, "Lolo," (co-written with Eugenie Grandval) which starts off bright, breezy, and deceptively progressive –– especially in its portrayal of a fabulously foulmouthed and dirty-minded central female friendship –– moves into more densely plotted and dark-hearted territory in its latter stages. The ambition is admirable, but in execution it means the witty, sophisticate comedy gives way to farce and contrivance, and an unwelcome sourness creeps into the fizz that the winning performances cannot...

"I'm starting to look like Christopher Walken. I've had people say that to me. It's a little scary," Julie Delpy told me during our interview about her sixth feature, "Lolo," which FilmRise opens stateside on March 11. It's the sort of flippant non-sequitur you can expect from the French writer, director and actress whose trademark is her manic charm. So, true to the form of her neurotic and often coordination-impaired characters, Delpy was strapped into an ankle brace for an injury that, yes, she assured, she brought with her to the festival, where her new French farce made its North American premiere. Delpy writes, directs and stars in "Lolo" as Violette, a forty-something single mother and fashion director living in Paris who is romantically fretting over Jean-René (Dany Boon), a less-than-hip engineer who is not in her league. Their courtship gets heated with anxiety and confusion as Violette's tyrannical teenage son...

Read More: Julie Delpy on Directing and Why She's Neurotic: "I Have All the Problems You Can Possibly Imagine" A love triangle is never easy to maintain, especially when that triangle involves a affable computer geek and a cankerous teenage son. Julie Delpy follows up her last directorial outing, "Two Days in New York," with yet another heartwarmingly funny film concerning romance, middle age and all the hang-ups that come along with it. Written, directed and starring the two-time Academy Award-nominated Delpy, "Lolo" tells the story of Violette (Delpy), a 40-something fashion industry workaholic, who barely has enough time to care for her havoc-wrecking teenage son, Lolo (Vincent Lacoste). But things begin to become more complicated as she begins to fall for a charming and sweet nerd, Jean-Rene (Danny Boon), who starts vying for Violette's heart. Jean-Rene must face obstacle after obstacle in his determination to win over the tumultuous Lolo,...
