Yellowstone season 2's premiere date on CBS has been confirmed after the show's successful syndicated run on the network. The show's popularity has led to the development of spin-offs such as 1883 and 1923, with the latter having a season 2 in the works. CBS's syndication of Yellowstone is part of its efforts to fill its Fall 2023 schedule due to strikes in the industry, and the show's success on the network suggests it has a good chance for long-term syndication.

After setting multiple records during its syndicated run, CBS has confirmed Yellowstone season 2's premiere date on the network. Pup have released a pair of B-sides from the sessions for their 2022 album The Unraveling Of Puptheband. Titled “How to Live with Yourself” and “Smoke Screen,” the previously unreleased tracks arrive as the band is touring Europe (grab tickets here).

“How to Live with Yourself” was the first song written for The Unraveling and came out of the band looking to “start with something simple and fun,” vocalist/guitarist Stefan Babcock explained in a statement. As such, the song features upbeat, catchy melodies and lyrics about learning to “cut the cord” from a relationship, capturing “exactly what this band is about.”

In contrast, “Smoke Screen” slows down the pace without being any less hooky: “I’m just an old cord you don’t need anymore/ I wanna love you but you’ve changed.” Babcock said the song came from a riff by bassist Nestor Chumak, who wanted to do a “sludgey” version of Pup.

The Apple TV+ series Silo is set in a post-apocalyptic world where humanity has been forced into an underground silo because the outside world has become toxic.

The silo’s inhabitants don’t know how the world became toxic or who built the silo that became their salvation, nor are they allowed to ask questions about it. People are permitted to explore the outside if they demand it, but there are no take-backs once the request has been made. The sensors that show the barren wasteland on the other side of the airlock do a pretty good job of deterring even the more curious citizens of the silo, but there are still those who question whether what they see outside is reality.

Michael has been trying to shake his heroin addiction. He has promised his pregnant girlfriend, to whom he is about to marry, that he is clean but that is not quite the truth. Matchbox Films is set to release horror thriller The Unraveling. The film, from director Thomas Jakobsen, involves drug addiction and kidnapping. One character might not be able to give up his drug of choice. Also, the film stars: Zack Gold (Fear Lives Here, 2012), Jason Tobias, Cooper Harris and many others. The release takes place next week, in the United Kingdom. The film's UK promotional material is hosted here. The trailer shows one character thrown in a trunk. Friends hope to get Michael (Gold) off of drugs, by heading out into the woods. But, someone is waiting for them in the brush. Michael's life is about to change in a big way. A former heroin addict, he's a father-and-husband-to-be but the pressures of settling down are proving to be too much and he's fallen into old habits and his addiction is starting to run afoul on his life.

His fiancé is worried, his boss knows something is up and when Michael takes some money from some shady characters, it looks as though the life he carefully constructed during his sobriety is about to fall apart. A number of emerging Danish filmmakers are embracing a new Diy attitude, as evidenced by some exciting debuts at Copenhagen’s Cph Pix festival this week. It might not be an identifiable new wave, but it marks a new ethos.

One leading example of this Diy spirit is Thomas Daneskov’s feature debut The Elite (Eliten), produced by Lina Flint. Daneskov is just 26 years old, Flint 27.

Daneskov cut his teeth on music videos and the well-travelled, award-winning short film Puff, Puff, Pass. After being rejected, twice, from the National Film School of Denmark, he decided to just make a feature outside ‘the system’ (without applying for public funding from the Danish Film Institute).

“We just wanted to get it done, we wanted that total creative freedom,” he says. “It’s a story about youth and we wanted to do it while we are still young. It could have taken years to get ‘big money’ to do it.”
