Von jetzt an kein Zurück

This movie hits you at different levels. It was interesting to observe that at the German film festival here, many in the audience were overheard asking,"which era is this based in"? Well-told and tightly knit with excellent screenplay and all-round great performance by everybody, especially Victoria Schulz. It was screened here with the English title: Rough Road Ahead. The editing seemed a little inconsistent, with a few scenes where there seemed like a break in continuity. But it was recovered well without affecting the experience of the story. Frosch expertly brings to life a story that could very well be contemporary in some parts of the world even in this day and age. It appeared as if the camera knew when to indulge and when to withdraw, without striking our sensibilities too hard.
