Embarrassing for all concerned

Lowest production values possible coupled with inept direction mixed in with amateurish acting and a script right out bad noir rip offs and it all adds up to something embarrassing for all concerned. A childish effort that sounds and looks like very little effort or talent was expended. And the plot? A Blair Witch meets Raymond Chandler mistake from the first frame. Friends, this is cringe worthy.

A dark Lovecraftian tale

Despite the low budget and technical limitations, this is an enjoyable little horror film especially for the fans of Lovecraft. Jerry Lacy provides class in the lead role.

Best enjoyed on a dark stormy night!

Amateur

I couldn't get past the poor acting, writing, photography, sound..... the dialogue was forced. The lighting was atrocious bringing odd colors to every scene. I understand the free camera movement in some movies but this was B hard to watch.

Why did they bother?

According to imdb this little flick was supposed to be made in 2015 but all of the comments and reviews were posted in the last year. I watched it on Amazon and their credits say it was made in 2021. In any case the big question is "why was it made at all?" I am absolutely sure that I could, or anyone, could make something at least as bad with a phone.

Pure nonsense for a story and horrible acting coupled with 3rd rate direction and you have an hour of total waste.

Intriguing

The story was intriguing enough to continue watching through to the end. I enjoyed it despite the strange, amateurish cinematography and visual effects.

I love this movie!

I've probably watched more than a hundered low budget Lovecraftian movies/shorts, and this one is one of my favorites. It's hard to explain why, I even bought it on DVD.

Yes the production itself shows alot of rough edges, but I only wish the sound quality was better. Yet somehow in 2024 that's part of it's charm. This movie exists out of the pure effort and passion of it's creators and it has alot of heart in it. They did what they could with the budget, which was probably teeny tiny.

The writing is great and my favorite part of the movie, August is a really fun character, the journey is interesting, some fun twists, classic lovecraftian ending.

If you like low budget movies and can tolerate their rough edges, I highly recommend this one.

If you don't watch it straight up throw it on in the background and give it a listen so you can see how it turns out.

Love this movie!
