Mofac Animation has found Jesus.

Oscar Isaac has signed on to portray Jesus Christ in The King of Kings, the animated family film being made by the South Korean-based animation house. At the same time, Forest Whitaker has been tapped to give voice to the apostle Peter.

The duo join a growing A-list voice cast that includes Kenneth Branagh, Uma Thurman, and Jojo Rabbit actor Roman Griffin Davis.

Seong-ho “Jay” Jang, known as a visual effects pioneer in Korea, is directing King of Kings while Anfernee Kim (Last Knights, John Woo’s The Crossing 2) is producing.

The faith-based feature is very loosely inspired by The Life of Our Lord, a little-known Charles Dickens short story that was published posthumously and that depicted the life and times of Jesus.

Mofac Animation Inc., South Korea’s most decorated visual effects studio, proudly announces its first-ever full-length animated movie: The King of Kings, an animated family film inspired by a little-known short story by Charles Dickens depicting the life and times of Jesus Christ.

The faith-based movie is in its final stages of production at Mofac Animation, as well as in performance recordings from the United Kingdom to the Hawaiian Islands – and numerous locations in between. The ever-growing, A-list cast will be announced at a future date. Mofac Animation is currently seeking potential distributors.

All’s quiet the night before Christmas, but John Woo is ready to enter with a bloody bang.

Woo’s first U.S. film in 20 years, “Silent Night,” stars Joel Kinnaman as a dad who witnesses his son die on Christmas Eve amid a shootout. The almost dialogue-less film co-stars Catalina Sandino Moreno, Scott “Kid Cudi” Mescudi, and Harold Torres.

The gritty revenge tale follows a tormented father (Kinnaman) who witnesses his young son die when caught in a gang’s crossfire on Christmas Eve. While recovering from a wound that costs him his voice, he makes vengeance his life’s mission and embarks on a punishing training regimen in order to avenge his son’s death.

The original screenplay is written by Robert Archer Lynn.

Veteran filmmaker John Woo, best known as a master stylist specializing in ultra-violent gangster films and thrillers (Hard Boiled, The Killer) is about to release the second half of his two-part passion project, The Crossing. Billed in local media as the “Chinese Titanic,” the two-part period epic chronicles three couples whose lives are affected by the sinking of the steamer Taiping, which led to the deaths of over 1,500 passengers and crew during the Chinese Civil War.

Anyone who’s seen the first part will tell you that The Crossing has the DNA of several Best Picture Oscar winning films, only shoved into one massive blockbuster. There’s romance, tragedy, war and many reasons for viewers to keep a box of kleenex nearby.

Five years after director John Woo's two-part epic Red Cliff hit theaters, fans have their first look at the filmmaker's next project with an international trailer and a poster for his two-part drama, The Crossing.

The plot is based on the true story of a steamer ship dubbed Taiping, which sunk between China and Taiwan during the Chinese Revolution in 1949, claiming the lives of over 1,500 people. The story follows a number of intertwining love stories, including a couple played by Chinese superstars Ziyi Zhang and Takeshi Kaneshiro.
